  1. I think/hope they do, which is why I intend going to the airport even if the flight is cancelled. However, they will certainly not be able to transfer everyone (an almost full plane when I last looked) on to the TG flight.
  2. Thanks for the tips. I'm keeping an eye on the EVA website (https://booking.evaair.com/flyeva/EVA/B2C/flight-status.aspx), but they are usually very slow to post info there. I think the chances are that my flight will be cancelled, but I think I need to go to Swampy to find out what they are planning for us.
  3. I don't rightly recall but I estimate about 11.15pm.
  4. I am booked on BR68 EVA flight from BKK to LHR tomorrow, and have just tried to do on-line check-in. I am unable to do so and get this notice: I hadn't heard about Talim but a bit of Googling has given up this: http://thegate.boardingarea.com/travel-alert-september-2017-typhoon-talim-to-affect-taiwan-and-eastern-china/
  5. I was there last evening and would totally agree with that comment. If the place is intended to be a Mk.2 Windmill, the girls need to have the same attitude as the Windmill girls. The average looks of the girls has also fallen. I'm not sure who it is who creates the good vibe amongst the girls but they manage it at places such as Windmill and Heaven Above. Why is the bottled beer priced at 170 Baht - about the highest around? I have no problem paying a premium price in a premium go-go but resent paying it in a second-rate place. What is the purpose of the main stage? The girls show very little with bikini bottoms beneath their skirts, and they are not of ogling quality. IMHO, if the girls are not particularly good looking, you have to compensate for that by having loads of flesh on show (like CEB), having a raunchy atmosphere (like BD), or by having cheap beer (which would probably not attract the clientele you want).
  6. Great review of 5 Star - thanks. I ate there several times on my last trip: there are so many interesting dishes to try out. The mistake I made on the first couple of visits was to order too much. The helpings are quite substantial and belie the prices.
  7. Thanks. That's interesting. Do I conclude correctly that your hotel doesn't have free Wi-Fi?
  8. For several years, I have been buying a 30-day data plan by dialling *777*985# - cost 399 Baht. This gave me 3Gb data, and unlimited wi-fi if in an AIS area (e.g. all of Central Festival Mall, Starbucks etc.), at maximum available speed. So, to compare them: *7153 - advantage: unlimited data ..... disadvantage: 1Mbps could prove slow *7155 - advantage: unlimited data ..... disadvantage: at 450 Baht, it is the most expensive package *985 - advantage: as fast as it gets ..... disadvantage: the 3Gb might not be enough if you are streaming videos or whatever. (It's never been a problem for me as I don't even use 1Gb usually, but I don't stream videos.) Have I got this right or am I missing something? Incidentally, it was a long time before I realised this but the 399 Baht above is before VAT, which they also subtract. I suspect the 300 Baht and 450 Baht are likewise. P.S. 9. Thanks. I'll have my first experience of 3-4-3 in about 5 weeks' time. Will report back whether it is as bad as I fear.
  10. Thanks. Do you happen to know if there is a way of finding out what the seat configuration is going to be BEFORE you do the booking? I'm going to have to re-think my allegiance to EVA as reducing the number of toilets in cattle class by a third and, at the same time, adding c.40 extra seats is going to be a deal breaker.
  11. If so, you might like to go to EVA's website and request your seat. A whole lot of seats appear to have been released going right into next year, including ones which are usually kept back until the last minute. I've also noticed that a few of my flights are with the new 3-4-3 seat configuration. I was expecting less width to the seat but I see that they have also squeezed in more rows, so there will be less leg space as well. Two of the toilets at the back of the 'plane have been forsaken for this as well.
  12. See the OP - Andrew Drummond.
  13. City Garden is between Second Road and Soi Buakhao.
  14. I think you must mean Third Road, not Second Road as Soi 15 does not fit your stated criteria.
  15. It's well over 250 pages long so probably a bit of a challenge for a mobile 'phone!
  16. So how are things progressing - more compliance or business as before? Billions seems to think there might be progress ..... Andrew Drummond doesn't ...... http://www.andrew-drummond.com/2017/08/wise-guys-in-suckers-in-and-out.html How do you see it?
  17. You might consider taking a double dose for a month to get the stuff into your system. The instructions on the bottle of my 1,500 mg tabs say to take one or two daily as a food supplement. I notice you can buy 3,000 mg tabs, so some people must take that amount regularly.
  18. I suspect those will be my options too.
  19. There has been very little research into the use of Glucosamine. The recommended dosage mentioned varies a lot but, generally, 1,500 mg a day seems to be considered a high dose. I don't want to be taking more than necessary of something that little is known about.
  20. I take Glucosamine Sulphate. I started off at 1,500mg 2x a day. After a month, I cut it down to once a day but had a relapse, so went back to 2 a day. Now I'm trying again to cut it down to one.
  21. Sorry - this is not an answer to your problem but wonder if you have tried Glucosamine. It has helped my knees considerably.
  22. Yes. And if you stay there, make sure you are not given an inter-connecting room. A few months ago, a friend stayed at the Golden Sea and was very impressed by it. It is just off Soi Buakhao, and an easy walk to Metro, and on the Baht bus route to WS if you don't want the hike down there. http://www.goldenseapattaya.com Another in the same area which gets good reports is Nature View. http://www.natureviewpattaya.com/
  23. Thanks. I have several more return flights (all cattle class - LHR/BKK) booked with EVA over the next 8 months. A couple of points about that. My trip to LOS which takes in Xmas and New Year was, predictably, more expensive. However, when the booking came through and I looked at "Manage Your Trip" on the EVA website, I found I had been given a Premium Economy seat on the return journey. I'm not complaining but am a bit mystified - and also slightly worried they will realise an error and I will be left with a choice of the last seats going in cattle class. I've been through and re-checked my seats on all the flights. In a few cases, I see the seat configuration is 3-4-3 rather than 3-3-3 which I have always previously experienced. I'm 99% certain that it was 3-3-3 on all the flights when I first chose the seats. The 3-4-3 configuration also explains why there previously have been no "F" labelled seats.
  24. Is it now in cattle class?
  25. I hope they get their weather forecasts correct!
