  1. My brand new computer slowed down hugely a couple of days ago. I found on another forum that others had the same problem. The solution was to uninstall Firefox. There seems to be some sort of conflict between a W10 update and Firefox. I'm now using Opera and every thing is whizzing along.
  2. I understand that Pattaya Tai will be closed on Thursday, so if traffic on Buakhao went all the way south (which it mostly does), it would not be able to get out.
  3. When I did my extension in May, it wasn't asked for.
  4. I've just noticed that they are dismantling the passport office at The Avenue. That seems a great shame to me as it was about the only thing sensibly located at The Avenue. If any BM can read Thai, perhaps they could read these notices and, perhaps, tell us what is happening.
  5. I bet that has been contested a few times!
  6. Often they stop on Soi 15, extremely close to that junction, and I see the passengers having to haul their own luggage up to Neta.
  7. Thinking about it again, saying "Chinese" was just a guess, but I know they were not Japanese. Also, I should have added a few Russians into the mix, but not nearly as many as a few years ago when they seemed to be in the great majority.
  8. My guess is that Whisper was a bit too late off the blocks to sell its rooms to tour operators for this season. I slightly disagree with you about Neto. The people staying there get into my local 7/11 and, from my observation there, it is about 50/50 Indian/Chinese.
  9. Its location is such that it isn't going to get much in the way of passing trade. The price will likely rise if it gets well known by word of mouth such as this or, more likely, if they manage to sell heavily to package tours.
  10. The Whisper, which Evil Penevil has just posted a review of, looks a better option.
  11. Thanks, EP. You've saved me a few hundred Baht!
  12. Yes, it's a shame as they have upped their game in other areas. For example, the food I had on Tuesday's flight was probably the best ever. The IFE is good, as is their phone app.
  13. They are using a mixture of 3-3-3 and 3-4-3. The 3-4-3 is not a good experience; the narrow shoulder width is very noticeable. I had a chunky chinky sat next to me yesterday who was a space invader. We had words!
  14. I stay in Soi 15 and can remember only once hearing the music from Action Street. Even then I was outside and doubt it would have been heard inside. I think your main concerns about noise should be from Soi 15 itself - occasional noisy motorbike, occasional pissed pedestrians going home etc - and from that small bar on Soi 15 right beside your condo development.
  15. GP, if TA is misunderstanding, could you spell it out, please.
  16. Exceptionally convenient for Soi LK Metro ☺️
  17. It is very rare for there to be more than a handful of vacant seats. PS Many people with babies try to get 45 or 61 D, E, F or G on the 3-4-3 configuration, or 46 or 61 D, E or G on the 3-3-3 configuration. These are the seats with the fold-down baby shelves in front of them.
  18. Yes, with EVA. It's a full refit. All the seats are the same (small) size. I suggest you go on to their website and see where you are seated. Not all the planes have been refitted so next week I'm going out with the new 3-4-3 but returning on an old 3-3-3.
  19. I have been doing about 6 return journeys a year with EVA and have never had that seat problem. The problem now is that they are reconfiguring Economy to 3-4-3, putting in about 40 extra seats, and have removed a toilet. I experienced it for the first time 4 weeks ago and it is noticeably a downgrade, particularly with shoulder space.
  20. OK. With you now. Don't think Sybil would allow Basil anywhere near LOS.
  21. I want to avoid walking up to your restaurant only to find I can't get a meal to eat in. Will your FB page always say whether or not you are open (as a restaurant) each day, please?

    Bite Me!

I wonder if you had the same problem I had a few weeks ago. My phone had stored the details of the wifi used in the old Bite Me Bistro days. They are using a different wifi now, and you need to ask for password.
  23. Thanks, Butch. I'm on the Tube from LHR right now! The flight was about an hour and quarter late, I think. But a real relief it turned up at all.
