Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Well the best deal I have seen is the LK Metropole at just over $US50 per night.

I have been flicking through some of the hotel sites and seems to me that there are some real bargains out there. Are there any recommendations from BM,s for June -July specials that there may have found?
-
Thanks for all the BM's that have responded. So far I have not been hit by a scam like this. I did have a lady have a heavy duty accident on a quite fancy bed cover. We rang house keeping and asked for someone to come up and sort it out. They did just that and took the thing away for immediate cleaning. I was in fact quite relieved when I was told that it would cost me 400 baht and would go on my room account as I could see the cost of a replacement as being a hell of a lot more than that. I do think that getting the Thai girl to sort it out with housekeeping was the way to go in this instance.

In fairness, if you have been using Mr T for years and have had decent and comfortable cars, on-time pick ups and knowledgable drivers that actually know Pattaya then why would you want to spend more than 1000 baht?

Always new cars?......................

Summer Madness 2013 "Buy One Get One Free"
teelack replied to sinkorswim's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Thanks for the promotion. Seems like a reason to visit a few new bars. One of the problems I have with Soi 6 is that I walk down there and never know one bar from another. They all look a bit same same.I end up finding an outside seat and watch the world go by but this promotion might well get me in the doors. Are the vouchers available from the bars as well as on the street? -
LOL! I can see Mr Benson and Mrs Hedges putting a contract on you Dr. Pat.

Had a try today. Straight in without an issue.

Sunshine Residences Soi 8
teelack replied to suspectdevice's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks for the report. IMHO Soi 8 is the best location in Pattaya for accommodation. Its wirthin walking distance of almost everywhere and has 2 supermarkets within an easy stroll. What more could one want? I will have a look at the rooms next time in Pattaya. I alwayts styed in this Soi till the building started and perhaps its time to go back. -
There are times when you feel for sure that the whole thing will go to shit and a couple of years ago was an example. A mate and myself had a day and early night in Bangkok and for want of a better place I ordered a Mr T taxi at 10PM at the reception of the Nana Hotel in Soi 3. After an early start watching them set up Patpong and drinks at Soi Cowboy and ending the night at Nana Plaza we meandered across the road and at spot on 10 the cab drove up to the reception of the Nana. I was so impressed that I have been happy to use Mr T since.

Looks good. Strange but true. I have been to Pattaya many times but never had a drink here. Not sure why but I do sometime stop and have breakfast. I will try to stop by and have a beer and break my duck next time in town.

Thanks for the video. It was worth watch.

I guess that we need to thank the OP for updating us on the current Mr T service. This is always an issue when service starts to go downhill and it does with almost every business when they take their eyes off the ball. I will have to decide soon about my next cab to Pattaya and because I have had such a good experience with Mr T I suppose that I will keep on using him. I will needless to say keep my eyes open as well as my mind but at this stage I will go with the past. As a matter of interest has anyone copied Mr T in with the original post?

Soi 1 & Soi 2, Any Construction work & Payment?
teelack replied to python's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Good point. When you have found a room that you like why not keep booking it. I have had the same room for about two years and book it as I leave. I do always confirm a couple of weeks ago before the trip and of course if I see something better then I can book it and cancel my other booking. This seems to me to be a good way to handle things. I am used to the hotel and they are used to me and this can pay dividends when you screw up! -
Thanks for taking the time. Always a good read and summary of whats happening in Pattaya.

The Walking Street contortionist
teelack replied to Billions's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Like so many other Thai people this girl is working for the family and doing what she can do. I can appreciate this in the sense that so many people in Pattaya have to do what they do for very good reasons. Having said all of that I refuse to stop and look as in my mind this is simple exploitation of a young girl. OK, I realise that I have had "a dollar each way' but that happens often in Asia. I appreciate the reason but detest the reality. -
Pleased that you made the point but I have to support you. 40 waist is skin and bone to some!

Thanks Doc, that started my day with a chuckle. I bet they dont call you House when it comes to diagnostics!

Thanks. I decided to stick a Chrome shortcut on my desktop and cure the problem hopefully permanently. In addition I get the spell check which I do not get with IE so maybe its been a good outcome
-
Point taken and this appears to be the solution. I use IE but this is using Chrome and the aforementioned link opened immediately. Thanks.

Hi there Phil. Kidding really because as you know I am a draft drinker and your place serves one of the best measures in town amd it has always tasted fine. In some ways you and your next door neigbour set the standard for good draught beer. I have thought in the past that it you two can get it right why so many places sell off flouvored crap.

I easily found the pop up blocker control and played with it but I still cannot open the external links such as the one in Bigdelta's travel post.
-
Thanks for the advice.

Its only recent but I seem unable to open most external links posted here. When I press on the site what I get is a yellow hand with a finger pointing to the site and a red 'thunder/kapow' mark. I am sure that this is a simple setting issue. I have Windows 7. Any suggestions?
