  1. I believe that the current music is great but possibly not for the reason that you might think. The reality is that my life seems to be centred on classical music. Its been my joy and passion all my life and absoloutly expect to be buried to Mozart. When I come to Patts its the great escape and I actually come to the PBG to see the music videos and just love them. In my 'other' life I would never get within miles of Joe Cocker or Kiss but get me to Patts and its the perfect music for the town, the bar and the occasion. Perhaps this is why I never bother with the girls. I am so engros
  2. The one good thing about Mr T is that he is very accesible. Unless there has been a recent change his office is next to the Soi Diane/LK intersection. Last time there I just dropped in with the details and no bother. If your staying in the area the advantage of being able to get there quick in an emergency (no pick up etc) is great.
  3. Hi there Adam and need I say that all these shots bought back some really great memories for me and I am sure people all around the world.
  4. Hi there Adam and best wishes for the big day. Sorry I wont be there but hey, kiss the girls for me.
  5. Hi Ken It would be my pleasure. I am totally sure after a decade of visiting Patts that there are people there committed to giving visitors a great time and I try my best to support them.
  6. I am not in LOS at present and therefore no chance of me on board. I do however commend the OP for getting these things going and offering a really differnt experience for us punters. There really is little need for anyone to slag off the poster because at least he is offering quite openly something new. I commend him for his enterprise and effort.
  7. Cummon guys lighten up here. The bottom line here is this. If you have some time to spare you can pop into Bangers for 15 baht and you might not even have to pay 15 baht to return. You get to see a fair dollop of Bangers as it seems that it is mainly overhead. The train drops you in the City and is just adjascent to the Airport so there is bugger all walking there as well. And, as I have already said you can dump your cases at Swampy for 100 baht per bag per day. This IMHO is the bargain of the year.
  8. No its North for sure--I think! The point about this place is that it has no frontage and is really ony there for those that take the trouble. I was pleased to be taken there by Thais because they could have hit me with big baht but this is their version of comfort food (please note the Knob that said KFC).
  9. For Euro food the PBG-I agree. For Thai food and this is according to the Thai that I know, the Hole in the Wall in Soi Buakhow.
  10. Hi there Joekicker. As I read the original story it said the foillowing. Passengers returning the same day will not need to purchase another ticket. I also thought that you could get easily from Makkasan to Petchaburi and I have used that station before and it has easy access to both types of rail. I do however bow to your local knowledge.
  11. Brilliant. Dump your case for 100 baht at the airport and then a 100 baht for a return day trip to Bangers. What a bargain on your final day in town.
  12. Pleased to see this place. It is now getting near the time when LK Metro and 100 metres around is becomming a destination in itself and this is great for the area. As a side issue I noticed on a recent trip a massive amount of accommodation being built in the Soi Lenkee area and could not but help think that rthis would be a good area for future accommodation.
  13. Thanks Adam. As you can imagine these bring back a hell of a lot of memories for me and I even notice that Tuk has had a make over. My best wishes to all.
  14. Thanks for the update Ron and I am pleased that I got there while it lasted. I am sure that you will be around in the future.
  15. Hi there all. My best wishes to both ladies. Please pass these on and tell them that I wish I was there.
  16. I would be interested in an update as to how the place is going. I was in Patts and dint get there but it was on the list and looks a great place to visit.
  17. Was there 3 weeks ago and there seems a lot of work still to go at Tims.
  18. Thanks for the review however at say twice the price of the LK Metropole I also think its over priced.
  19. I have to say that the Canterbury Tales looks fine and as I eat breakfast there and bought and exchanged three books it is a place that I know and think is in a great position. As a total change however I chose to stay at the Sabai Inn and for a superior room at 855 baht a night this was IMHO a good buy.
  20. Hi there Mark. It was good to meet up with you and thanks for the drink. Took a call and had to go but things looked good there.
  21. Sorry guys but I still have no info on the soi 2 Inn but I can tell you that all the scaffolding came down this morning. There are also a shop and a massage place opened in the foyer area.
  22. I have been trying to find more info on this place and will post it if I find it. Each day seems to see more and more progress on the place and it looks well advanced.
  23. Thanks for the food and party. It was appreciated and best of luck for the future.
  24. Thanks for all the good advice and info chaps. As a matter of interest I decided in the end to stay at the Sabai Inn and this has turned out to be quite a good choice. They are building a new hotel on the beach Road side but as I am on the other there is zero noise. The internet rates as shown on their web site are just a current as a walk in at reception.
