  1. It had some tough reviews a year or so ago but my main complaint is getting there at 2 or 3 in the morning. It seems a bit hidden away.
  2. Hi there D I hope that you figured out that a blowjob puts no strain on the back and that the adrenaline rush can dull the pain.
  3. This has to be the most convoluted thread in the history of this board. Anyway Dave, seems that all has been forgiven according to the most recent posts. By the way, whilst Jimmy White was a real hero 30+ years ago I would rather meet Stephen Leather if he is coming your way?
  4. I think that most things were cheaper a while ago. I paid I think 845 baht for the superior room last June and there was still free tea/coffee and cake every afternoon. A point that someone raised was about baht buses going down the soi. I think that if a BB gets to soi 2 and its empty it goes down rather than getting mixed up with the roundabout with little chance of more fares for the time and mileage. I never managed to walk to Beach Road last time without a bus catching up with me.
  5. If your interested in a goodish hotel at an off season rate of under 1000 baht per night I have to recconmend this place. No balcony, no breakfast but 4 pools to choose from. Have a look at their web site for more details. Sabai Inn Soi 2 01 May - 31 October Standard room 855 De luxe 990
  6. I cant see service men having the money to ring the bell and tend to believe that perhaps it does come from the US or Australia from those that struck it rich.
  7. This thread has once again gone feral. IMHO the following is the case: No one has suggested that they cannot afford to pay 5 baht. No one has suggested that the lessees of these places should not be compensated. Most people realise that it would be impossible for each beer bar to have its own toilets. The issue is more about the cleanliness and the fact that if you decide to run a business that involves the sales of liquor that people will want to pee. Another small issue is that the older you get the more you tend to pee and there is a plague of people out there with prostate issues. This will continue to be an issue and NOT because of the trifling 5 baht charge so please stop making this thread into something that it isn't. One final point that really hasn't been aired but I would hazard a guess that those that do have good toilets (Well done the PBG) must get tens of thousands of extra business because they tick all the toilet boxes, so to speak. I am sure that some of us have gone to places that have good toilet facilities and paid above the odds for drinks because we have used them ( Lucifer's and Tony's come to mind.) I for one think that clean, accessible and hopefully complimentary toilets are a right, not a privilege, at the very least in eating and drinking establishments.
  8. Well now there's an expression I have never come across. Thanks anyway.
  9. Yes Steve I believe that you could be right. It really was a ridiculous notion that places that sell alcohol (and in some cases spicy food) to farang would provide toilet facilities.
  10. I have wondered over the years why bar owners don't put a bowl of 5 baht coins on the bar for the use of their patrons. It would be a nice gesture and I am sure that it would be appreciated.
  11. Now thats funny! :chogdee :chogdee :chogdee
  12. I am not particularly computer literate and I am sure that a lot of you already know what I am about to say. Just for fun I decided to try Google Chrome browser. I have never used anything other than Internet Explorer. I was surprised that the hype that I had read was quite correct in that it is quicker to load the pages and post a response. In addition to that there seem to be some other features that do not happen if I use IE. As I am pleased that I have found this out it makes me wonder what else is out there that I have no idea about that might enhance the experience more or there may be another browser that is even better. Always willing to earn.
  13. Why dont you just drop a line over the edge at the PBG, drink an ale and chat up a freelancer. You wont care if you dont catch a fish.
  14. There is one major reason for me to prefer perhaps the Sabai or at the least staying in Soi 2 and this is the fact that it is on the main route for baht buses. Just step outside the door and there will be along in seconds. This is a real bonus on a rainy night or if you have any security issues about walking down a dark soi at night.
  15. I was wondering if we could do some good here. What if hundreds of boardies were to email copies of the photos to the Mayor of Pattaya. At the very least it would be a positive step.
  16. The thing that I find sad about this was bought to mind when last at Patong beach in Phuket. I was aware of how many locals made their living from that beach yet they were prime suspects in being some of the biggest litterers. I thought is so sad that the locals were just not interested in keeping their bread and butter clean and tidy.
  17. I am lead to believe that the pool on the roof is very good?
  18. I am also lead to believe that the edible crap that is dumped on Pattays beaches brings in the sea snakes. Perhaps the rats will eat the snakes?
  19. Yes, well...I guess that if you respond to everyone who has an opinion on this board and tell them that they are wrong for having that opinion then your going to become a very busy person. The whole spirit of this board is one of people making their own personal stand and getting response from other members on that stand. This is nothing to do with the nanny state because all I bcan do is to comment and suggest whereas the nanny state legislates people rights away. We are all free to accept or reject any comments made here. I think that the following from Wikipaedia put it into context" The italics are mine. Nanny state is a pejorative used to reference a state of protectionism, economic interventionism, or regulatory policies (of economic, social or other nature), and the perception that these policies are becoming institutionalized as common practice. Opponents of such policies use the term in their advocacy against what they consider as uninvited and damaging state intervention.
  20. My first thought on reading this response is why would he risk all his hard core sporting activities to save a minute or two by riding pillion in a place that is a well known death trap. This is an avoidable risk and has no personal satisfaction such as those that you get from xtreme sports.
  21. Following Dontchas comment re some speakers from Tukcom. I was wondering are there not other places in Pattaya other that Tukcom where you can buy software? I know that there are some electronic places in the shopping centres and wonder if these place sell competetively?
  22. Very good advice and brings us back to one of the questions asked here a lot and that is about the so called "Walk of Shame". Lets face it you have more chance of avoiding this sort of debacle if the girls have to sign in/out. I also believe that you double your chance of recovery if they have a known place of work that you can try to trace them through. As the man said, you have been royally screwed but I respect your putting the info here as a timely reminder to us all.
  23. There has been some interesting comments from Dontchas post on motor bikes. I have never used a motor bike taxi in Pattaya but would be interested to hear back from members as to the safeness or otherwise. I know that the girls use these all the time and I have never heard one express that they feel unsafe or have been in an accident. I have always made the assumption that someone that does this line of work 7 days a week must be pretty shit hot at surviving the traffic woes of Pattaya. As a matter of secondary interest, what sort of fee do they expect?
  24. I think that Bells do daily mini bus trips from and to BK. From memory I think its 350 baht.
  25. Dontcha. Its good to have you back but I hope to hell that I never have to share a hotel with you. Are you serious when you wrote this? To sober myself up I walked up beach road and up to Tukcom to buy an external speaker for my phone so that I could listen to the radio by the pool without having to stick earphones in. Here am I feeling a bit delicate and I park myself next to the pool to dry out and recover and to read a good book (Thanks Canterbury Tales) and along come a plonker that believes that he needs to share his music with me. I am off like a shot and either move as far away as I can or just leave the pool area. What would happen if everyone wanted to play their music? What would you say if someone parked next to you and at the pool and got his speakers going? Perhaps a bit of Arab drumming music? Come on Dontch.
