Thailand has many very beautiful places for couples to go. Pattaya (unless you are into Thai women) is not one of them.

If you come in November you’ll be kicking yourself for not coming earlier. If you come in June you’ll be wondering how you can get back in November.

Practice for diving in Pattaya by putting your head in a toilet bowl for 1hr at a time. Pattaya is only good for muff diving try Samui or Phuket or Krabi etc for good dive sites.

You will see the bars all around the boxing ring in the main area, yes it’s “free” no entry price (it’s an open area) but its expected that you buy a few drinks from the bar who’s seats you are using.

Gus, or watching the cheap Charlie’s/ back packers bring a bottle of water from the 7/11 and think they can get a front row seat for the “free boxing”

Gabor, you will not find anything like the number of bars & girls that are available in Pattaya on Samui. Chaweng is a much livelier place than Lamai but more orientated to the younger crowd, many backpackers and discos just not for me. The main action around there seems to be on soi Green Mango and the soi’s around there. Lamai, has a collection of Beer Bars around the boxing ring just opposite the 7/11 and MacD it’s a great place to relax I’ve always found acceptable company and days relaxing on the beach and eating seafood can be a nice change from the madness that can be BKK

Book in advance for the cheapest prices if you know the dates you want to fly, I went with Air Asia in May and got a return fair for under 1400thb. If I had picked up a ticket from a agent in BKK it would have been about 1500thb one way. Air Asia

Yes, just some sites list it a little different as all the airlines seem to have there own pet names for them.

Pack the minimum amount of clothes you need, there are loads of laundry’s and buying new is dirt cheap. But bear in mind that you will be changing your shirt & underwear a minimum of twice a day.

I’ve started to use The Grand Business Inn on soi 11, walking distance to NEP or Cowboy, clean comfortable rooms (quite new) very GF, I took 2 girls several times. Never used them myself but got a mate who’s used them about 4 times now in the past 18 months. Absolutely loves them, especially if you get the good connections and only have to wait about 2 hrs at Abu Dhabi if it’s the long wait they supply transport and accommodation in a hotel near the airport so you can cat a shower and a sleep. They constantly come out as one of the cheapest on the net search engines and seem to building quite a reputation. Though I do think you could have got a better price if you hadn’t booked so early and maybe waited for a few special offers to be released!
