  1. It's fairly recently that McDonalds started serving Newmans Own brand (Paul Newmans company) coffee. The coffee, if one likes that style of American drip, isn't half bad. And I am NOT. A fan of McDonalds in any way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. My point exactly. Most of us go to a bar to have a bit of fun and barfine. I could skip my 60b beer (draft or bottle), pay the barfine and go. No lady drinks, no fun, no bar tab. I wonder how long this business model would work if we all just went in, chose one off the shelf and hit the road? Or I could have some fun, buy a few ladydrinks and then pay a reasonable barfine. I don't know, maybe hiring 15 girls and getting 1500b, pay the agency and girls cut, skipping the DJ, bartender, waitstaff, ice, bar stock, etc. is a better business model. I suppose in the long run it would
  3. So simple life plans on riding his bike from his 3K/month apartment in a suit to a gogo. I smell a windup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Gabor, that's pathetic. You should be ashamed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Reasonable barfines are an enticement to keep coming back. Cheap wanker perves who are not ashamed to sit alone and sip draft for hours on end is what you get with 60baht beer and 1500 baht barfines. Sorry if that seems harsh but it's meant as constructive criticism. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks guys. Greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Can I extend my 30 day entry by a few days and were do I go? I'm in Bangkok Sukumvit Soi 11 Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Then you understand (probably better than me) that it's rarely a single event, but a chain of unfortunate events that cause mysteries like this. Sometimes happening very quickly. My guess is electrical fire, then catastrophic failure. Could an EPIRB survive? Maybe, maybe not. But sadly, there are so many possibilities...
  9. People still fail to comprehend how hard it is to find debris, even something larger than a shipping container on he open ocean. The very nature I the sea surface, even in benign conditions from above makes it hard to spot objects. This combined wih the fact ost debris floats at or just under the surface, not on top like a boat, makes it even more difficult. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. http://elliott.org/contacts/ A list of customer service executives email addresses they don't want you to have
  11. Sending an email or letter that gets to the right person is crucial. So many preople call and it's likely a waste of time. Chris Elliot is a good person to contact if you need an email address. He has a travelers advocate blog and writes for CNN. Elliot.org I was getting stonewalled by United/Ana. He gave me someone's email address at United and in MINUTES my problem was solved. After it was solved I still had three VP's email me trying to help. They credited me 30K in miles and wrote me an apology letter.
  12. Just sent you an email. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I'll take a look tomorrow. Does she work day or night and what bar in the complex. Post the pic please.
  14. And the Nasdaq was at 130, people threatened to quit smoking if cigs made it to $1 a pack.
  15. Something's up. I can't get to the forums unless I go in through the hotel websites link. I have the usual link saved in chrome but it says the domain name is for sale. Maybe they are making changes in their site.
  16. I mean really, who wears a wooden cap? I'm still laughing. (Apologies to any boardies who wear wooden caps.)
  17. I just saw a Russian dude in a wooden baseball style cap walking across second road trying to hold up traffic for his group as they crossed by holding up his arm and waving at cars to stop. Darwin would have been fascinated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I'd like to add couple of things... Their smashing taste in male short-shorts complimented with a straw cowboy hat. Introducing their toddlers to the Thai bar scene, hooker transvestites, and music loud enough to do permanent hearing damage to developing ears. Fucking amazing. :)
  19. I carry two cameras when I travel. 1. I really enjoy taking pictures with my Cannon "super zoom" I think the range in optical zoom makes all the difference when you get home and compare shots. It also has a large button on the back that sends it straight to video mode and can zoom in and out while in video. it has many of the bells and whistles of an SLR without the cost/lenses and the body is a bit smaller. Certainly not a replacement for a DSLR but it works for me. 2. My second camera is a submersible Cannon pocket camera. It's a little big for a pocket camera but, I'm a sai
  20. Two bedroom suites at that rate are gonna be hard to find. Residence Garden has them but that's a hike from LK Metro and they charge more than 2000baht (closer to 3000 I think, or near twice the single bedroom suite rate). At the 2000 baht price point you would might have better luck finding one bedroom suite and one single room next to each other or across the hall. JMHO YMMV
  21. Some basic kitchen stuff. Enough to make a small meal. No toaster as I recall. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I try to use it with Turkish and get the same nonsense. Considering Turkish has a Latin alphabet it seems Bing is pretty useless. Google+ is so much better but not enough people use it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. The "make out test" is a good one. If they kiss like they mean it they are more likely than not good to go. I'm talking full on open mouth tongue n tonsil wrestling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
