  1. They do but the curfew completely kicks in a 11pm (unless thats changed).....after 10.30 they used to in the past to ask for dispensation to go but heavily fined for that as well. That may have changed I acknowledge
  2. Course we were forgetting the Euro 500 compensation per passenger as well
  3. Bare minimum 200k not only parking at Heathrow for what was 20 hours full over nighting in hotels for that nights flight passengers, costs for people missing ongoing connections from the inbound BR67 and additional hotels for those missing last trains and coaches as well (Ive had that on another occasion) and we havent even started on the disruption on ongoing flights for having a 777 completely out of position. 200k bare minimum
  4. Couldnt be turned around in time to beat Heathrows departures curfew back out that evening. Happened to me on Eva before but I was lucky and got put on Thai that same evening because I was gold on Eva at the time back in 2004 if I recall correctly This is why they dont like pissing around waiting at Bangkok on the outbound sector. That would have cost the airline all up around £200,000 that night for sure
  5. Reading of others that have and regretted it not surprisingly. If 15 minutes extra in pattaya is important then fair enough lol Am surmising though if you're going south rather than north it might be worth it obviously cutting out the Suvarn taxi to wherever you're going but to pattaya no way
  6. We have to pretty desperate to view cams whilst home hankering after a return. Spend your time instead earning money to facilitate that return quicker
  7. Maybe but there are plenty of other carriers avoiding the ME in KLM Air France Air china Cathay Malaysian to name just a few. I reckon its a great move on Thais part
  8. People will always pay a premium for a non stop flight though. At heathrow they have a lot more competition then just the ME3 or 5 if you include Gulf and Oman
  9. Would imagine the bookings would be very heallthy at least in economy
  10. totally agree but the other poster claimed it was in for maintenance for 21 days. That was known this time last year. Thai have sold those tickets knowing full well people (in general) prefer the A380. Once the "known" rostered aircraft reached capacity they announce the change. I worked for trailfinders for 11 years I know exactly how they work
  11. Really try reading again. "inbetween flights" and my distrust of somchai and his bike spanners and his mai pen rai attitude Full and Interim services are undertaken in Frankfurt Servicing intervals (unless serious defects) are known 12-15 months in advance
  12. Why would anyone be using the public taxis from Suvarnabhumbi to Pattaya when Nams, Mr T's, Meows and other providers will wait at gate 3 for a 1000 baht to Pattaya no tolls added either I recall someone mentioning many years ago the airport taxis were charging 1500 to Pattaya I cant imagine hopping over barriers with luggage to save 200 baht on probably what will still be a higher fare to start with
  13. https://www.businesstraveller.com/tried-and-tested/flight-review-qantas-b787-9-business-class/?utm_source=Business+Traveller+International+Newsletter&utm_campaign=8841e93b8f-Your_weekly_business_travel_brief+Mar+29+17&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0f9ce7ba66-8841e93b8f-162953081
  14. This is where they are utterly shight. That maintenance session will have been known a year in advance at least yet they were openly selling seats with an A380 rostered on the sector its bang out of order. I will never ever fly them again (did twice) long time ago but would simply not trust somchai and his bike spanners on service issues between flights
  15. Re Qantas Sydney London non stop....updated article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5551917/Qantas-reveals-plans-new-cargo-class-passengers-exercise-super-long-haul-flights.html
  16. Agreed absolutely that was my first thought. It was on Business Traveller couple months ago will see if I can dig out the article
  17. Qantas have approached Airbus and Boeing and asked them to build a jet that will do this hop in one leg by 2022
  18. Bit bewildered by the hoohah over this flight seeing Qatar already have a longer sector in existance daily to New Zealand from Doha (not by much I agree)
  19. Bizarre Evas economy on the Combi was 34" pitch and attracted plaudits from around the world and people saddened when they were laid off
  20. ah ok I thought perhaps it was just one of those days but clearly not
  21. Not on their 787 no but have on other carriers and they are not good either.
  22. I flew on Qatar on their "premier" flight QR002 to Doha in summer of 2016. Evening departure 9.30pm (think its 8.30pm when its GMT) and it was on a A330 with the most appalling leg room and instrusive underseat entertainment boxes I have ever seen. Notwithstanding that we were parked on a remote stand and bussed to the terminal 2nd leg on A380 was fine same in reverse sectors
