  1. If only they were all that efficient! When I had my CC details pinched the bank involved phoned me a week after someone had spent £4K in Argos.
  2. Was holidaying on one of the greek islands a number of years ago. There was a bar/night club which had free entry, the place was jam packed with Italians but non of them were drinking. A few nights later they started charging a small fee to get in (and I mean a very small fee), guess what not an Italian in sight.
  3. My mate told me at the weekend (so not sure of the validity)... The English FA spent £850 million on Wembley stadium. The German FA use various club stadiums for their national sides home matches and invested a similar amount in developing youth academies for all German league teams to develop "local" talent.
  4. I'm from Northern Ireland and I doubt we will qualify for another major event anytime soon if ever. Therefore England are my second team and I always like to see them do well, however they have a habit of letting me down
  5. Went to Snookyville in July and changed some sterling into dollars at a place on LK. Almost facing champagne go go. Exchange rate was pretty decent.
  6. Heard a rumour that the head gardener at The Whitehouse had been fired recently. He had been there for quite some time and had served under many different Presidents. When interviewed he said " I've no idea why they fired me, one day I shouted to one of my assistants...have you seen the spade and the hoe...next day I was fired"
  7. He has the potential to become one of the greats but he's not quite there yet. As for the "older" generation of players not being as fit as "todays" players...if one of the bigger clubs has to play two games in a week all you hear is griping and groaning about how they can't cope with such a tough schedule..ffs it's their job.
  8. That is not strictly true and might depend on the time of year you are traveling.
  9. Very sad news. I grew up watching rugby and listening to "the voice" made you feel as if you were at the game. RIP a true legend.
  10. You've posted this in the wrong section so by the time the powers that be have finished with you, you'll not be fit to watch anything They are all quite good though I'm not too keen on CSI Miami. Start by watching the original, which is based in Vegas and then move onto CSI New York....enjoy
  11. I have to agree 100% If I go to a hotel website and the info is limited (no prices being an example) I quickly move on to the next one. IMHO putting up a crappy website is worse than not having a website.
  12. Go to their website for info and prices. I know a BM who stayed there and was quite happy with everything. Mosaik has a thread on the "Addicts" board (apologies if posting another boards name is frowned upon) where there are a few reports from people who have stayed there. The general concensus is that it's a reasonable place to stay which is located in a nice area the gayness of which did not effect their stay in any way.
  13. Loved Emirates and have flown with them for a few years now. Their connections were usually 1hr 40mins out and 3 hours returning but they are all up the left now with most connections having 6, 7 8 hrs and upwards waiting time. Their prices are also increasing alarmingly. I'm going to try Qatar, great connecting times and very very cheap compared to Emirates!
  14. Used this guy in July and the quality was fine, he was also the cheapest (by far) of the six or seven I asked for quotes from. Jack Fashion Co Ltd Soi Diana Road Pattaya opposite Kiss Food & Drink
  15. Some good photos there. One of these days I'm gonna play in the RH (maybe). P.S. that's gotta be the biggest camel toe I've ever seen that wasn't actually on a camel
  16. I stayed at the LK in July and love the place. Location is great and the staff couldn't be friendlier. However, if relaxing by the pool is a big draw then cross the LK off your list. It is small and uninviting with no facilities close to hand.
  17. I've no real interest in the security aspect of it. If terrorists wanted to bomb a plane at the airport they would find a way, no matter what system was in situ. I am, however, interested to know if I can now take fluids into the airline departure lounge (beyond the airline departure gate). I will be flying either Qatar or Emirates...anyone any info?
  18. There are many laundries and the prices are pretty much of a muchness. Have been using the same laundry for the past 4 years. It's just across the road from Areca Lodge (on the corner of an entry). Don't know prices but I'm sure they're reasonable and have always provided a good service.
  19. BM Carbine stayed there for a while and was very happy. There are also some positive reports on Addicts. It is indeed 5 mins walk from WS and just across the road from Soi Bakhow (spelling). It's a few mins from Friendship supermarket. BM Carbine says that the location being "quite gay" is not a major problem. If you drop any money just kick it along until you hit the main street
  20. Seems you practice what you preach.... "never give up on a dream"
  21. You are just Patts happy cos your flight draws ever closer. C'mon the Saints Sorry to hi-jack your thread Barrington and I feel for you, travelling with young children is often trauma enough without other hassles.
  22. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Have always flown Emirates and always will. Their food and inflight entertainment is a cut above the rest IMHO. I struggle to sleep on aircraft and prefer the two 6.5 (ish) hour flights. Was delayed once in Birmingham which meant an overnight in dubai but no big deal. I'm sure others have had problems with Thai/Eva and I wish you luck on your next journey. Had the same problem with the Greeks prodding, poking, lifting and hugging our two youngsters whilst on holiday in Zante. I actually prefer that to the grouchy, groaning, scowling looks and ind
  23. Oh dear, now you've put the cat amongst the pigeons. I watched the carpenters story last week and it reminded me how good the song "Goodbye to Love" was. Maybe I'll be too drunk to remember that one Cya in a few weeks
  24. Just a quick update. I eventually got a reply from 'Dream' in the reservation dept: Studio 33,000 Superior 35,400 One bedroom suite 45,600 (all room only, but it's rare for me to make breakfast so I'll cope) pay on arrival. Thanks for setting up the discount MM. I may even spend a few baht in the FLB whilst listening to the fabulous band... I promise not to request "American Pie" if Ed promises not to give me that knee knocking 3 part shot!!!
  25. What....no baked beans or irn bru for you know who????
