Information re weather in late July
alexist replied to Bazle's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I have been going to pattaya for a number of years now, always the same time of year, first or second week of July through to the first week in August. The weather has been very similar year in year out. Very hot and humid. The rain when it arrives is heavy and sometimes lasts for an hour or two. There are also some wild storms (mostly at night) and they are a joy to watch from your balcony. On one occassion the rain started just as I was leaving the Hotel it was persistant, heavy and looked like it would be on for some time. I got a change of clothes, sealed them up in a plastic bag a -

How to get the FLB rate for LK Group Hotels
alexist replied to LKHOTELS's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks Martin I am trying to get quote for LK Metropole (Soi Diana I think) and no, they didn't say the FLB rate was no longer available. The rates they have quoted, however, are just the normal prices. Not your fault and decent enough of you to have even set up the discounted rates. I will just keep plugging away with emails, now that I know the discount is still in situ. Having lived there for a while you're aware of what a fun passtime that may turn out to be I got a friend to get me walk in quotes so if all else fails I'll do it that way. -
How to get the FLB rate for LK Group Hotels

Can anyone tell me if the FLB rate still applies to the LK Group Hotels? -
How to get the FLB rate for LK Group Hotels
alexist replied to LKHOTELS's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
TIT I followed the procedure and requested a quote for a period of a month in July. The reply was very prompt but they qouted me Studio 45,000 Superior 48,000 and 1 bedroom suite 60,750. Even if the FLB rate is no longer in situ, surely it would be better to quote a price which might entice me to stay there. Perhaps the hotels bookings have not been affected by the recession? I've sent another email stating that people have been given a walk in quote of 33,000.... fingers crossed but I may have to look elsewhere. Anyone know of any other hotels with studios (must have cooki -
I am having the same problem with Emirates. It might be that July is peak holiday sesaon for people flying to that part of the world. Cheapest I can see from any airline for 8th July is £550... where did you see the £350?

Go Go's with girls in Stockings
alexist replied to bellfunk's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Try the Classroom (as previously stated) though last time I was there the quality of the girls wasn't the best. They wear all different types, white/black/fishnest/non fishnet. Over the years I have had some really nice girls from there, just ask them to bring their uniform with them when you are leaving. There is also a place across the road from Classroom (used to be called the Kitten Club) where the girls wear white stay ups I got quite a nice girl from there last year but beware the place is full of LBs as well. There are other go go bars where the girls wear stay ups on certain -
Jasmine Mansion Sou Bua Kow
alexist replied to acranger's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
This is sad news indeed. Have stayed at the Jasmine a few times and it had become my home from home. Terrible waste of what was a lovely place to stay. -
Looks to good to be true...there must be a catch somewhere???

Just like a normal airport hotel anywhere. Food was quite nice and staff friendly. Hotel is a short bus/taxi ride away from everything but not really a hassle. Couldn't find bar in Emirates hotel but walked across courtyard to adjacent hotel and there was a small bar in it. Went to shopping centre in Taxi...no worries, leaving however is a nightmare. Q for taxi to leave centre is horrendous with lots of young Q bunkers. People are rude and unfriendly IMHO. It was nice to break up the journey with a few beers and a kip.
-
I always fly Emirates and they are a cut above the rest IMHO. Nice aircraft, great food, friendly staff and good inflight entertainment.

No sorry. Stopped going on there as it freezes my computer when I try to log off. The report was by one of their regulars. Maybe someone on their site can guide you to it. I had looked at Tonys places myself as they appeared to be good quality and value, although a bit out of the way. Was put off by his report and have no reason to think he's telling fibs as he and his girlfriend use Tonys gym regularly (allegedly).
-
There is a lengthy report about Tonys apartments/studios on Addicts. They do look very nice but there are major problems with construction noise. Also, some things not properly finished. Think the OP on Addicts was a long term rent. Sink not properly fixed to wall...fell off and smashed...he was charged for replacement (which they still didn't attach properly, just left extra screws on bathroom floor). Door handle came off in his hand locking him out of apartment..he had to pay to have it fixed. Not sure why he still stays there, apparently it's because it's located very close

As the ball is in play then officially you have had your turn. However as your ball might be interfering with the next player on the tee you should ask permission to play out of turn. This will generally be given as most players don't like playing with a ball already teed up on the tee box. The next player up on the teebox may even ask you to play your second shot.

I agree with you up to a point. My first trip would probably not have been half as good as it was without the help and advice provided from this board. However there are a few fictitious characters on here who take great delight in posting bad info and misdirections. I think seeking financial and or medical advice on a mongers board is ill advised but to each their own. It's just MHO as usual.

Perhaps you should seek professional help, rather than asking such an important question on a mongers board?

Lost my job a few days before Pattaya--Trip delayed
alexist replied to cebual's topic in Idle Chit Chat
Sad to hear of anyone hitting hard times. Use your trip to Patts to build up good memories to get you through. Things can only get better, hopefully sooner rather than later. It's no consolation but try and count your blessings. -
If the ball is deemed in play then think what you would do if the ball was sitting on the fairway i.e. unless there is a local ruling on the course for that day (lift clean and place through the green) then if you touch the ball after an airshot you forfeit another shot. example 1... you miss the ball off the tee. You have another attempt and then strike the ball. That is your second shot. example 2... you miss the ball off the tee. You reach down, adjust the tee, replace the ball and then strike the ball. That is your third shot.

"Guest" friendly according to reviews I also emailed and was told electric usage for month approx 2-3000 baht, water usage 250-350 baht. Hope that helps.

Hi guys... Am about to book my trip for this year. Anyone got any up to date reviews of Diamond City Place? Thanks in advance
-
Yes...my sincerest apologies to the Irish Rovers and I'll call in for a wee vod or three when next in Patts. Can't understand why that guy has the word friend in his name

No need for the implied insult...Wankstain. As stated I've stayed in that area for the last few years. I am not a spastic and am quite fit and healthy for my age. It takes a minimum of 15-20 mins to reach the beach on foot, that is with a following wind and no hold ups as you cross the two big roads, where there is nearly always lots of traffic to avoid, (you arsewipe). 2 minutes faf and you imply I'm a spastic...you dimwitted lowlife braindead snot gobbling turd...or maybe when you were going to the beach you got someone to shoot you out of a cannon
