The OP was looking for suggestions for a guesthouse where you do not have to walk through an open bar area in order to access your room. I can go with this. I often feel the "goldfish" effect when you walk into the place with "Miss Right for tonight". So if we can steer back on track I would also be interested in what other BMs have to say about a place you can access with your date somewhat discreetly.

Sorry to ask this but the hotel review section is generally very much out of date. So can anyone recommend an apartment/hotel in the soi buakhow area? A guest friendly policy is a must. Hoping for a recommendation from someone who stayed in any featured establishment fairly recently. Thanks.

A group of 10 ageing guys (of which I am one) meet up for a drink every Sunday evening. Over the last 3 months 6 of our number have lost their jobs with no realistic prospects of getting further employment. Certainly life sucks right now.

I have just returned from Patts. I saw a number of black guys with absolute stunners who would not look at me twice. So no need to worry at all my friend. One thing is a certain - you WILL enjoy yourself.

Although I have been to Patts many times, apart from the odd visit to the Buffalo Bar on Third Road, I have visited no other bars in that area. I understand it is a part of Pattaya that is frequented by many ex pats and therefore I would expect them to have targetted and identified a few good bars in that area. So can any boardies who are familiar with the Third Road scene recommend any bars in that area that are worth visiting? Thanks.

Looking at some of the specimens that pass as bodies I cannot understand why these people feel the need to take their shirts off anyway. A pot belly and lots of tattoos are not pleasant to look at IMHO.

I visited the PBG almost every day during my recent stay in Patts. Pete is very amiable. His staff are a delight. Beer is cold and reasonably priced. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. Atmosphere first class. And Pete has promised to put some smoochy dance music on the menu for my next visit (I hope). No bad comments to make about the place.

I'll take that as a "no" then shall I?

I was in Funtown last September. I did not find any difference from any other month I have been there in terms of the number of ladies available. The rain can be something of a nuisance though.

The guy is giving an opinion about accommodation he has tried and found wanting. Others like the place. I just cannot get my head around why people who try to help others by reporting bad service/accommodation get hammered by those who hold a different view.
