  1. Thanks Emil. Riding to the rescue again. A top guy.
  2. Emile is an expert at such research. Maybe he will find out about this hotel for you and write a short report on it. He is an obliging guy.
  3. I agree it does look good. Not stayed there but am interested. I note that electricity is charged on top at 5 baht per unit. As I have never paid for electricity separately before, can any kind BM let me know how many units one might use on an average day with air con, t.v. lighting, fridge etc.?
  4. From what I can see it looks very good. As above comment, can we see photos of the inside of the condo please?
  5. A very warm welcome to the board.
  6. I would be happy to meet up with you in Patts at some time for a run.
  7. Sorry you had such a dreadful experience Steve but thanks for sharing this with the rest of us.. This board is about raising awareness of poor standards as well as good. It is often the case that a BM reports a bad experience and he is jumped on by people who have had better fortune when using that service.
  8. I have never noticed a gym on Beach Road. If one exists I would be very interested to learn more about it. Whereabouts on Beach Road was it located?
  9. I admire you for running those sort of distances in that heat. I have done over 50 half marathons in the UK but never done a full marathon. Have applied for the London Marathon on a number of occasions but have never got in. Probably just as well. I had an x-ray recently and the doctor told me I do not have a full marathon in me.
  10. Yep, if that had happened to me the place would have got my vote too
  11. Well that certainly beats Tony's where it cost me 200 baht for one visit.
  12. On my last trip in March/April I used Tony's gym on Third Road. Got almost everything you might wish for in a gym. Certainly got treadmills.
  13. I have not beeen in Patts since the Beer Garden opened. However, it is definitely on my "to do" list once I get back to Funtown. I have to say I am very impressed with the effort Pete is clearly putting into the place to make it a venue that people will want to populate. IMHO Pete has hit on a winner of an idea. His vision and work ethic deserves to succeed and I look forward to reading that the garden has gone from strength to strength.
  14. Thanks gents. Emil, as usual you are a virtual goldmine of information. I should be grateful if you would pm me with details about the place you mentioned.
  15. On the occasions I have been to LOS I have always stayed in hotels. However, I was chatting with a guy the other day who told me that he stays in a hotel/condo/room for which the normal monthly charge is 6000 baht. As he is a friend of the owner of the building he gets the accommodation for 4000 baht a month. As I usually pay upwards of 1200 baht a night for a hotel whilst in Patts I would be interested to learn what one gets for 4000 to 6000 baht a night. The guy who told me about his stays was in a great hurry and I was unable to ask him the questions I would have wished about the accommodation he spoke about. So I would be grateful for any information about accommodation in Patts at this price. Whom does one contact about this sort of accommodation? Where abouts in Patts is such accommodation likely to be found? What could be expected for this price? What extras would need to be paid for? Are the rooms cleaned, linen and towels ever changed? If this sort of accommodation is tolerable then it could mean the difference between staying in Patts for a month rather than 2 weeks at a time. Thanks in advance.
  16. Don't bear about the bush. Say what you mean.
  17. I think that anyone who has taken a girl from a bar near to their hotel has invariably regretted it. Certainly this would not be a good idea. By all means drink at local bars, have fun, chat with the ladies and buy them drinks if you wish. But I would endorse the advice from "rightsaid". Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it.
  18. You were very unlucky to be put through such an unpleasant experience by toom. He just didn't bother to turn up for me. So I suppose at least I was spared the rot-box ride. Plenty of other more reliable rides about.
  19. Can rely on a good chat with the regulars. Never eaten there but the drinks are reasonably priced. And there is no hassling you to buy more drinks or to rush your drink.
  20. I don't
  21. A warm welcome to you both
  22. The rooms are comfortable. Can have great fun looking out over soi 6. No lift though which some may find a problem
  23. I have eaten many times at the Vic. Never had a bad meal. I would recommend the fare wholeheartedly.
