  1. Eddi@bkk.th2000.com Booked December at 1350 single superior. I don't particulary like this hotel but it is in a greal location and has the safe. FD staff were a bit rude to me TG last time. Breakfast sucks.
  2. I've stayed at the Sabaii Inn and found for about 1,500 baht per night it was extremely nice, and I would recommend it to anyone at that price. However, I just got a quote back for the suite during DEC/JAN at 3,000B per night. I've never stayed at the Suite at Sabaii (didn't even know they had one). Anyone stay there? Is it worth 3K?
  3. Welcome to the board. If you go, life will not be the same for you. I suggest you try to drink at least 1 beer in every bar and make up your own mind!
  4. Shit. I see $890 for November from PHL. Really pisses me off cuz my dates WERE flexible but already booked out of JFK for $1215!
  5. (copied from another board) As you probably know, there are going to be no taxis from the arrivals terminal at the new airport in Bangkok. You will have to get a shuttle bus 3km or so to the taxi departure area in order to get one. I would like to know 3 things: 1) Does this mean that you'll still be able to go to the departures drop-off area and grab one that's just dropped someone off? If this is the case, and people cotton-on to it, it's going to be a mad-house up there. 2) Does this mean it will be easier for newby tourists to be scammed at the new airport? Apparently
  6. 2007 rates now available. Booked Deluxe Room in late june/july @ 1695 baht. FYI
  7. Thanks. I panicked and got nervous when I found out only today. I now see this has been addressed on the boards. Thanks for setting me straight.
  8. How do you book the Walker Hill? I have an 10hour layover and I'm not looking forward to it
  9. Cost from New Aiport to downtown BKK? vs. Cost from New Airport directly to hotel on Walking st?
  10. I made my reservations some months ago and expected to arrive in BKK. Paid hotel in advance at majestic suites for few days before going to Pattaya. Called today to get seat assignments and found out as of 09/06 Delta will be flying into the NEW airport in Chonburi. WTF! Might have to lose my hotel deposit it BKK.. Does anyone know: How far it is from New Airport to Pattaya? How far it is from New Airport to Nana Plaza in BKK? Thanks to anyone who can advise.
  11. my 2 baht.. Yeah, it may be a "scam", but the dude really has no legs and only stumps for arms. I'm sure the few baht you give him will help him eat. I probably have more baht drop out of my pocket on a drunk night than that guy makes all week. Most of the time I see people step right over or around them trying to look the other way. I feel very fortunate when I see them.
  12. Airbus Seat Maps - check out seat 11E and 11F Thai Airways Lie-flat seat I'm told seats 11E and 11F are the ones to get. I think I could actually sleep in that baby!
  13. Have the opportunity to book next June in Business Class from JFK to BKK but the price is considerably higher than both Premium Economy and Economy. Has anyone taken this flight and is it really worth the experience?
  14. My friend, I believe this is the epitome of High season and it will be impossible to find a cheap flight. On the other hand, the weather is great and there's millions of ladies...might be worth the extra few bucks.
  15. Sounds a bit cheezy. Have to pay extra to fill the Jacuzzi with water?
  16. lots of recommendations on this forum. If it's your first time I recommend staying in the middle of the action like on SOI 6, or right on Walking Street. The only real requirements in my opinion is AC and in-room safe. Should be no probelm. Happy hunting...
  17. C'mon fellas, there's a reason why they call it "high season" and that's because it the absolutely BEST TIME to be in Patts! Sure, lots of people, but also lots of Stunners and the weather is great! I realize this thread is very early, but just try to book a hotel room for this period and you'll soon see time is getting short!! Encourage all to put there names on calendar and to make reservations now! Hotels are almost all booked up, so dont' wait! Oh yeah, the point of this topic is I'm celebrating my birthday in January and would lilke someone to throw me a party. See you the
  18. I have never stayed at the Dynasty either, but I hear it is a very nice hotel. The surchage is crap! but they all seem to be charging it if they can get away with it. The ridiculous surcharge is one reason why I'm not staying in BKk on New Year's Eve. There are quite a few hotels recommended on this site.
  19. ummm. Just my opionion (and like everyone has an assole), I would not recommend the Welkom Inn. Yes, it has a short-time bar next door where you can get 2 girls for 1000B ST, but you can get that just by being a visitior. The rooms are shit. The breakfast is very good at 90B, but the steak at dinner for 400B is just crap. For a few more dollars stay next door at the sabaii lodge or sabaii inn.. Normally, a few baht does not make much difference, but in this case...it really does.
  20. Thanks to everybody! I have decided to stay at the Majestic Suites afterall. I don't care for their rooms, but it's only 2 days until pattaya and MS does not charge for joiners (I'm sure of that)!
  21. The price for this meal is not far at all from Denny's in USA (no, not Big D). At Denny's the grandslam breakfast is less that 160 baht and includes 3 eggs, 3 sausages, 3 bacons and potoatoes and coffee. Didn't realize it until now what a great deal that is!
  22. I agree that they can be incredibly rude during busy season. I contacted sawasee.com several times and never teceived and answer. I also contacted a few hotels directly and I'm still waiting. It's a seller's market during high season!
  23. I think you can get a room atop the FLB bar for that range, which (I'm told) includes 1 free BG. Ask MM.
  24. I tend to disagree with the majority advice on this one. If you intend to live in Thailand one day (you don't? I do!), then you can not let this crap happen. For god's sake, he hit you. What's next? an eye? a kick in the dick? Baht bus asshole is taking advantage of the fact you're on vacation and can't be bothered. I don't abide that. Where does it stop? I might have wrestled his ass in a headlock and had the tourist police straighten it out, I don't know. I do know I don't respond as calmly as you do to being punched. I guess I admire your wisdom in the end, but I know mys

Though old hat for many, there is much fun still to be had at Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy. A couple days stop in BKK can be great fun before starting the real holiday in Pattaya. Many would argue that since prices are higher in BKK, there are more stunners to be had. No matter where you decide to go, you'll have a great time as long as you bring lots of baht. cheers
