Anyone know how to get from Penn Station in New York to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)? I know I can take the LIRR to Jamaica Station where I can then take the Airtran to JFK Terminal 4 (Thai), but I have never been to Penn Station before and I've heard it's like an underground city. So, does anyone know how to get from Penn Station to the LIRR? Thanks.

Mr. toom, i know you are watching these boards. I tried to contact you about a ride on July 2nd frm BKK to Pattaya. You told me to call you back when I get my hotel room #. Now we also have Pattayanut who needs a ride on the same day. Can you pick us both up? He is arrving at Airport on July 2nd at 12:45 pm. I am staying in BKK.. Looks like "the bus" got you from Pattaya to BKK in 2 hours and 20 minutes. the rest of the delay was due to taxis? All in all... not a bad bus ride.

It can be very confusing and hectic for a new person going to Ekami for the first time. Shit, even getting there can be a challenge for the uninitiated. When I first visited the place was crawling with people and I felt lost. I took a taxi that time. however, I priide myself on being able to master mass transit in the countires I visit, so this next trip I am doing bus! Ekami to Pattaya or Bust!!

I have read this and other similar threads because I'm interested in the subject. Seems to me the majority of expats favor renting rather than owning. As for me, the jury is still out.. ... but...I do put a lot of stock in experience.

No doubt this is a terrific deal, but...Since I'm on vacation and the only objective is to screw beautiful, young girls (and eating is secondary), I am not compelled to go out of my way to save on food expense. If, however, you also had some fine ladies at the place....., that might be different. When I"m hungry I either stop in and pay 1K baht for surf/turf, or order bugs off the street cart.

Isn't there 2 busses to Pattaya...one has A/C and another doesn't? Also, one may be "local" whereas the other is straight through? Do the people at the ticketwindow understand english? Which bus is it?

Wondering what everyone's experience has been using Travel agents. I tried several but they could never beat/match the price I could get on my own using the internet. Maybe they can save money on packaged deals (i.e. with hotels), but they have not been able to compete with single airfare pricing. Anyone have better experience?

Sorry, I phrased the question incorrectly. I will be staying in Bangkok for a few days before going to Pattaya. Like to share Mr. Toom's Taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya on July 2nd.
