My preferred departure time from Manchester is the morning flights, which leads to an early morning arrival in Bangkok, so EK21 changing to A380 means The Fiend is a happy chappy!!!

Emirates have today announced that all the Manchester flights will be A380 from1st January 2017. http://www.thenational.ae/business/aviation/third-a380-to-manchester-sees-emirates-aving-it-large Some said it would never happen, that they would keep one 773ER on the route for cargo capacity.... Looks like they were wrong!!! Emirates have proved how good the A380 is for regional markets, Manchester being the perfect illustration. MAN will have the same number of A380 flights as LGW Looks like Qatar and Etihad will have to up their game to compete with Emirates at Manchester.

My home town shopping centre is quite busy. They did a major rebuild of the shopping centre about 10 years ago and attracted some big name stores. It's paid off because it attracts plenty of folk to come into the town.

On-line banking is one of the reasons banks are closing down branches - Long gone are the days everybody did their banking at their local branch....

It was a cashback "offer" on my Lloyds Current account.... at the same time they were offering 5% cashback for a booking with Emirates. All it needed, after opting in, was to book using my Llouyds debit or credit card.

Booked via cashback link on my bank account Qatar Airways was 8% (£60 max) ... Quidco - up to 3% and Topcashback - 1.85%.. And my bank paid the cashback within a month of the booking compared to than waiting for months!!!

I used quidco for a while and to put it bluntly was not impressed...... the last time I used them the cashback was a grand total of £5.62 on a spend of £1183 with Emirates..... they made the cashback worse by only paying out on the airfare, not airfare + taxes. Also used quidco for a while when booking airport parking, but didn't take long to suss out that you could get much cheaper quotes via other means, even after the quidco cashback.

Jameaters.... The term dates back to the time of coal-mining in West Cumbria, when some miners from Workington went to work down the pits in Whitehaven - jam was a popular sandwich filling as it kept the bread moist down the pits.... It is now used as an abusive term between the two rival towns, with both calling each other jameaters!!!

Seems there is a wee bit of a following for Rugby League in Thailand so it might attract a crowd... There is one Thai lad playing at professional level in the UK... Theerapol Ritson who plays for Workington Town in the Kingstone Championship, the same team as ex-NRL player Jarrod Sammut. And there is a good chance both player could be playing in this match Tee is quite a good player.... Played against the Aussie Schoolboys when he was playing academy rugby, scoring the only try for the RFL Academy Select side. Have a look at Khon Kaen Cowboys Facebook page... Tee seems to have quite a following in Thailand!!!

After a bit of research I have found out that admission to the match will be free!!!

I'm 140 miles north from MAN, so I wouldn't qualify.... And yes she could fill a container every trip..... Her record weight for 1 suitcase was 36KG, before I redistributed some of if prior to checking in.

LOL.... just tried it for my dates for October and still worked out more expensive than what I've paid with Qatar. Their luggage allowance also puts me off. Enjoyed a free upgrade to Biz class on my last trip with them. I'll stick with Qatar or Emirates, with their higher allowance.

Both the Sun and Daily Mail are heavily biased towards the Tories. The Mirror having more of a left wing swing in it's political stance. I don't buy any papers but do get to read both the Mirror and Sun at work and actually think the Sun is more of a joke as a newspaper than the Mirror.

You can take the piss out of Thai engineering, but the company I work in the UK for was in the middle of constructing a new facility...... Groundwork completed and they were well into the construction phase and had nearly completed all the concrete pours when it was pointed out that it was meant to be built at another site 400 miles away.... The cock-up is still standing 40 years later and being used as a storage shed.

I had no problems what so ever with VFS when we applied for Mrs Fiend to come to the UK..... Did everything myself and included lots of proof.... Granted first time of asking!!!

Normally I book direct with the airlines, but for the trip to my Brother-in-Laws funeral netflights.com was coming up as the cheapest option for Qatar, so I booked on-line with them...... this was for a flight that was going 32 hours after I clicked "confirm" on the website...... It took 8.5 hours before I received confirmation of the booking with a PNR. It turned out to be a different PNR to the one that Qatar had for the booking. A phone call to Qatar Customer services desk was required so I could print out the documents,... luckily the CS rep was very helpful in assisting with my enquiry and stayed on the line until I confirmed that I had received the email. It's not the first time where I've booked on-line through an agent and the had to chase up afterwards for PNR/eTicket numbers.

I've read his comments on tripadvisor as well...... He also wrote a review on his hotel in Pattaya and made a comment about sleazy bars and massage parlours near his hotel..... good job he didn't stay on Soi 6!!!
