  1. Just about got everything sorted for my Monday morning departure for Paradise and Sin City. Now come on Jacko, it's not that cold and I'm a bit further north than you!!!
  2. Google is your friend. There are quite a few buses that run between Surin and Pattaya, cost probably around 500 Baht and the trip takes around 8 hours.
  3. This is one track off a CD that is currently in my cars CD player. Had to order it from The USA as nobody had in stock in the UK... The album ? Die Krupps - Machinists of Joy.
  4. This is the wrong forum to be asking this question on I'd advise you to look elsewhere.
  5. Washing done and starting to pack my bags, this time next week I'll be on my way.
  6. Thursday night was my last shift at work before my holiday and I'm now off for 4 weeks. Today will be spent sorting out what clothes need washing for my trip to Thailand. I'll also be spending some time checking out flight prices for a trip in October.
  7. Hope you re-open before May 19th I was looking forward to sampling your food!!!!
  8. Well, A fairly easy shift for me, managed to get away from work a bit early and was welcomed home by Mrs Fiend.... and my verdict on her latest attempt at a Tattie Pot supper..... delicious!!!!
  9. Just about to head off to work... I have a 20 mile commute to worlk but it's an enjoyable drive in my Volvo C30. Arrival at work means my car being searched by the site security team under the watchful eyes of machine gun totting police officers (and this is in the UK). It's quite funny as we never used to get searched going in but always stood a good chance of being searched leaving but things changed drastically since 9/11 and 7/7 and we've been under heightened security since then. And already looking forward to my "Tattie Pot" supper and a couple of bottles of Chang!!!
  10. Heading over to Thailand on the 18th so starting to get things organised for the trip... got a few things to do on the house when we get there so starting to make a list of stuff I'll be taking with me. I'll be off to work this afternoon.... only got 10 more shifts to do and then I'm off for 4 weeks. And this evening Mrs Fiend is planning on cooking "Tattie Pot" for me.This will be her 5th attempt at the dish and she's getting better and better at it. Tomorrow, taking a shift off to go and watch my local Rugby League team and enjoy a few pints either celebrating a win or drowning my sorrows after a loss
  11. As alway a cracking read Monkeyman!!!
  12. When my brother was in the coach business a fair amount of his custom was airport transfers which meant I was often sent on them. On many occasions I overheard my passengers discussing scam insurance claims on their travel insurance on the way back from the airport. One even bragged about it to me saying they were doing it to pay for their next holiday.
  13. Isn't it funny that whenever somebody gets mugged it always seems to get reported they were carrying rather large amounts of cash I never go out with more than 10K in my pocket, the rest is locked up safely in my room.
  14. I've walked a bit of that route a few years ago when I was staying at the Travelodge on Kew Bridge Road for a weekend... ended up walking all the way to Victoria Station!!!
  15. Often see them wandering around the arrivals concourse airside looking for targets, they are quite easy to spot in their black jackets.
  16. Have been stopped twice at Swampy and both times been let through, once was having just got off the plane and the other was after passing through customs. And both times I was travelling on my own. Haven't been stopped when travelling with Mrs Fiend. And I'm not stupid enough to pay UK Duty free prices.
  17. Mrs Fiend comes back with loads of Thai foodstuff packed in all our cases,... I wouldn't mind but she can get most of the stuff over here in the UK!!!
  18. That's my experience as well.... if you get pulled as long as you are honest about being over the tend to just give you a little slap on the wrist and let you through with them. I buy on the way out and they get put in the checked-in baggage for the return trip and then buy some extra at Swampy and Dubai. The swampy stuff goes in the hand luggage and Dubai in duty free bags. Haven't needed to buy any at UK prices for 10 months and I've got enough to last to my next trip! Another thing that helps me is that there is at least 2 of us travelling
  19. I ordered a spare part for a mobile from a guy that sells on ebay in the UK and received nothing after 2 weeks despite him claiming he had posted it and then claimed he posted out a replacement after I said the first one never arrived.... Lad went ballistic when I left him negative feedback and then resorted to trying to bribe me to remove the negative. Got a refund off paypal and ordered the part from Germany which came within 3 days.
  20. Would help if your translated it to English!!! I've done it for you ok. Selling crib! + Ironing board + mosquito umbrella Price 3,500 baht! pick: Jomtien Soi 16 contact information: pma20@bk.ru +66991542903 Skype: provincial9
  21. I booked some flights in in 6 weeks ago and I managed to get MAN-BKK return for £425 each, and been checking flights for the same dates since then and it hasn't come up with a price that beats what we paid., the lowest price being £430.
  22. It's my first time flying Qatar, and although I enrolled in the frequent flyer program got no option to select the upper deck economy seats. Normally I chose seats at the rear, but due to Mrs Fiend having an onward connection for a flight up north we need to get through immigration and luggage collection pretty sharpish so I booked seats at the front of the lower deck.for a quicker exit. Looking forward to my first flight on a Qatar A380... also looking forward to how the customer experience compares to Emirates as I think the Emirates experience has gone downhill over the last year or so.
  23. Qatar have an economy section in the upper deck of their A380s as well. I'm sampling one of theirs in May Doha-BKK, but wasn't able to pre-book the upper deck economy seats
  24. Looking at those pics it looks like the upper deck economy class section of their A380's... the lower deck has the 3+4+3 layout.
  25. I take an old Nokia N8, unlocked to any network and put a Thai SIM in it. Still works perfectly good and even has the advantage I can use the sat-nav function if required.
