Just booked another trip... this time it was Etihad coming in cheapest for us.... £470 MAN-BKK return...

I've just flown Man-Doha-BKK with A330-200 to Doha and A380 to BKK. Wasn't to impressed with the first leg, but had a much better experience on the A380. And whilst we were sat waiting to pull back off the gate in Doha spotted one of the 2 Qatar A350 parked on the gate next door. Noe that is a great looking plane.

In 3 hours time we'll be in the Volvo C30 and heading off down to Manchester Airport!!! Had a small panic yesterday as Mrs Fiend had misplaced her old passport containing the ILR Visa for getting back into the UK.... eventually found it and calm was restored!!!

In April,it wasn't looking good when it dropped the £ dropped to 47.6... so for a 10% rise in one month has given my spending money for my trip this week a nice little boost!!!

This time tomorrow I'll be on my way down to Manchester airport, bound for Thailand. Bags are just about packed, so today I'll be checking everything is sorted before we leave. My 3 cats need to be dropped off for their holiday at a local cattery, and Mrs Fiend wants to buy some chocolate/sweets for her nephews so that means a trip into town as well. I'll be spending the first 3 nights of this trip in Sin City and I see that Adam has organised a LK Metro GoGo Bar crawl on Wednesday so I'll make an appearance on that I think. Any body else going? Also thinking of doing Walking Street on Thursday so is anybody up for a crawl on Thursday?

Cumbrians are a hardier lot too.... Even with six inches of snow on the pavements I've seen lasses out in boob tubes and mini-skirts!!

Wimps, the pair of you!!! I've been wearing shorts all through the winter.... And yes I am ting tong but it was a fairly mild winter up in Cumbria!!!

Just about got everything sorted for my Monday morning departure for Paradise and Sin City. Now come on Jacko, it's not that cold and I'm a bit further north than you!!!

Google is your friend. There are quite a few buses that run between Surin and Pattaya, cost probably around 500 Baht and the trip takes around 8 hours.

Washing done and starting to pack my bags, this time next week I'll be on my way.

Thursday night was my last shift at work before my holiday and I'm now off for 4 weeks. Today will be spent sorting out what clothes need washing for my trip to Thailand. I'll also be spending some time checking out flight prices for a trip in October.

Well, A fairly easy shift for me, managed to get away from work a bit early and was welcomed home by Mrs Fiend.... and my verdict on her latest attempt at a Tattie Pot supper..... delicious!!!!

Just about to head off to work... I have a 20 mile commute to worlk but it's an enjoyable drive in my Volvo C30. Arrival at work means my car being searched by the site security team under the watchful eyes of machine gun totting police officers (and this is in the UK). It's quite funny as we never used to get searched going in but always stood a good chance of being searched leaving but things changed drastically since 9/11 and 7/7 and we've been under heightened security since then. And already looking forward to my "Tattie Pot" supper and a couple of bottles of Chang!!!

Heading over to Thailand on the 18th so starting to get things organised for the trip... got a few things to do on the house when we get there so starting to make a list of stuff I'll be taking with me. I'll be off to work this afternoon.... only got 10 more shifts to do and then I'm off for 4 weeks. And this evening Mrs Fiend is planning on cooking "Tattie Pot" for me.This will be her 5th attempt at the dish and she's getting better and better at it. Tomorrow, taking a shift off to go and watch my local Rugby League team and enjoy a few pints either celebrating a win or drowning my sorrows after a loss

When my brother was in the coach business a fair amount of his custom was airport transfers which meant I was often sent on them. On many occasions I overheard my passengers discussing scam insurance claims on their travel insurance on the way back from the airport. One even bragged about it to me saying they were doing it to pay for their next holiday.

Isn't it funny that whenever somebody gets mugged it always seems to get reported they were carrying rather large amounts of cash I never go out with more than 10K in my pocket, the rest is locked up safely in my room.

I've walked a bit of that route a few years ago when I was staying at the Travelodge on Kew Bridge Road for a weekend... ended up walking all the way to Victoria Station!!!

Often see them wandering around the arrivals concourse airside looking for targets, they are quite easy to spot in their black jackets.

Have been stopped twice at Swampy and both times been let through, once was having just got off the plane and the other was after passing through customs. And both times I was travelling on my own. Haven't been stopped when travelling with Mrs Fiend. And I'm not stupid enough to pay UK Duty free prices.

Mrs Fiend comes back with loads of Thai foodstuff packed in all our cases,... I wouldn't mind but she can get most of the stuff over here in the UK!!!
