  1. 5 years ago when the yellow shirts blockaded the airport I landed about at about the time Swampy was invaded - there was no sign of any protesters at arrivals and caught a taxi down to Pattaya. First I knew of it was when Hammer asked when what time I arrived when I went for an ice cold Singha round at Cherry bar. Have also been in Bangkok during times of protest and not seen any trouble.
  2. The lads playing for the USA have done their country proud. Just watched Scotland V USA and was well impressed by the effort put in by the USA, leading 8-0 at half -time before getting beat 22-8. They never gave up.
  3. Most of the players have qualified to play for Scotland by having Scottish Grandparents, and they are all are proud to represent Scotland. Went to see Scotland v Italy last weekend, great match in front of a sell out crowd. All the matches are being broadcast live in the UK and did notice that Singha was been advertised on the electronic hoardings during the Australia v Fiji match. They are trying to get Rugby League going in Thailand so there is a chance at some point in the future that there might even be a Thai team in the World cup. There is a couple of young Thai lads playing for
  4. Well done to the USA Tomahawks for reaching the Rugby League World Cup 2013 Quarter Finals in their first appearance in the competition, beating Wales and The Cook Islands in the process. Their next match will no doubt be their last as they will face the World Ranked No1 Aussies.
  5. Just spent 2 days up in Chiang Mai and I don't think I'd want to live there...... the traffic was nearly as bad as Bangkok. But I did enjoy driving the twisty road between Den Chai and Lampang, and the hillclimb up to Doi Suthep from Chaing Mai.
  6. I intend retiring "up north"..... Won't be too far from an airport for cheap flights down to Sin City and there's already quite a few falang up there. Not really a big city person,I much prefer the easygoing life of a small provincial town.
  7. Try looking for no "space" between the 2 words and it's there.
  8. It got locked, the off-topic posts cleaned out and re-opened... simples. The off-topic discussion is now going on in the politics and religion section
  9. My other half's family live up north and you can always guarantee passing through police checkpoints on the journey back south... they are always on the lookout for yabba shipments heading south.
  10. It wouldn't surprise me if Governments are targetting VPN's in search of terrorist activity. as well as criminal.
  11. Right lads.....The posts that went completely off topic have been moved over into a new topic over in the "Politics and Religion" forum so would you kindly take that discussion over there.
  12. Have flown Air France and KLM, and I wasn't impressed with either of them. The highlight of the KLM trip was enjoying a pint of Murphy's in Schipol on my way back
  13. Excellent pics, thanks for posting them. Looks like Wat Arun will be added to my list of temples to visit.
  14. Threadfucking again... Simple, anybody can just google "BigDUSA" and up comes with folding@home and the Pontiac Vibe owners club.... That's not stalking you!!! And I admit I'm weird!!!!
  15. LocalYokul was the one who thinks it is a hardware problem. I was suggesting checking to see if there is processes running that is causing problems with his browser and the graphics output from it. If it was a graphics card problem it would affect more than just his browser performance. The bit i wrote about selling them on Ebay was what could be a very low cost upgrade for his old system,
  16. And where have I recommended replacing expensive computer parts? As for replacing computer parts, with an old system like the OP has he could probably sell them on Ebay for a decent price as they are in working condition and upgrade to a newer, more up to date motherboard/CPU combo with integrated graphics on the proceeds. I recently sold an old Socket 939 motherboard with a Dual Core Athlon 4800 and 2GB ram for over £100. That is why, in my first reply, I asked if his system is a socket 939 - because there is still some demand for those, more than AMD Socket AM2 and Socket 745.stuff..
  17. Not too bad....... and I don't need to use the central heating as much!!!! I crunch for medical projects doing research into Cancer and HIV/AID medicines, a worthy cause..
  18. He could try that, but doing that "might" get rid of the problem but it doesn't help finding out what the problem really was. And then what we happen if the problem returns, Darkmancomes would end up re-installing his software again and again!!! The symptoms are those of a "process" hogging CPU or GPU resources. Using "Task manager" should give him an idea of what is hogging resources. My systems run BOINC projects on CPU and GPU so are running at 100% load constantly, and sometimes it does affect browser performance. If that happens I just suspend the GPU tasks whilst I watch the yout
  19. Wow, that is an old system.... Is it a socket 939 or AM2? Have you tried updating to the latest NVidia drivers? Another thing I would suspect is Norton 360 is hogging the CPU... I would recommend dumping that and using a free one like AVG or Microsoft Security Essentials instead.
  20. Happy 8th Anniversary Adam....... Hopefully I'll catch up with you in October and I'll buy you an Anniversary drink then!!!
  21. Careful Gabor...... you're thread-fucking!!!! If you want to argue with Evil take it to the B & A section and refrain from infecting other topics with your petty arguments with other BM's.
  22. And what's the chances of the Kangaroo's failing to win the Rugby League World Cup later this year?
  23. I think it suits the BA livery very well, but prepare for the Boeing boys to call it ugly!
  24. I have no problems flying on an A380 with a known problem, just like Boeing fanboys seem to have no problem flying on a Nightmareliner with a dodgy battery system. Interesting to see Airbus have decided to move away from Li Ion batteries for the production A350XWB's. Looking forward to my next A380 flight in October.
