Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

And the correct answer was NO -
Big improvement on the Emirates 777s in economy class. The 777s feel claustrophobic in comparison.

A380 first delivery was delayed 20 months. Didn't you brag the Nightmareliner would fly in 2007? Boeing are still having problems, and it still hasn't flown. Boeing are still claiming it will fly this year and yet the wing fix design hasn't been completed or even proven on the static frame. With only 9 1/2 weeks remaining this year it is looking less and less likely. -

Yes they did, but they overcame that problem. -

Think the same can be said for most Europeans engineers. And if you consider that Fords global motorsport involvement actually is the European operation, then it sort of puts the American achievements on the global stage into perspective....... -

Fedex is the only A380 customer to have actually canceled the A380, with other customers opting to defer delivery instead of canceling. It is only the A380F that has suffered cancelations, and 7 A380F were changed to the Passenger variant. Airbus has a net orders this year of 123 (up to end of September) compared to Boeings net figure of 74 (up to 20th October). Incidentally Citroen have won the World Rally Championship Manufacturers title 5 times, so they can't be that bad of a manufacturer...... Ford have only won that title 3 times. -

Cancellations of the Nightmareliner now stand at 83......... That's nearly 10% of the orders that were placed!!!! -

I wonder if Boeing employees are also starting to call it the Nightmareliner -
Beginning of July did the DXB-BKK sector on the A380. Was well impressed. It doesn't feel as claustrophobic as the Emirates 777s. Hope you enjoy your flight. Watch out for the Boeing fanboys on here that slag it off at every opportunity.

thai license needed to ride motorcycle in patts?
TheFiend replied to dv34917's topic in Expat Issues
Was driving a hire car towards Sukhothai and got stopped at a road block. Was asked for my "drivers ID" so showed them my UK Photocard Driving License which they were more than happy with and allowed to continue my journey. Did have an IDP with me, but it was about a week out of date. Think they were trying to catch drink drivers as it was a Buddha holiday. Couple of hours earlier had been chatting with one of the other halfs uncles, who was more than just a little bit pissed at 08:00.... he is a copper!!! -

A380 deliveries getting postponed isn't as bad as getting cancelled..... What's Borings net orders for 2009? Is it +1 still??? -

The Qantas cancellation means there have now been 73 Nightmareliners cancelled. -

Scally.... I can't believe you have just wrote that!!!! You are a very strong supporter of Boeing, but I guess you have just had enough! I have been saying for a while that problems would occur during commissioning, design faults would surface. Boeing Senior management seem to think problems like these don't happen, the reality is it does. Boeings credibility in the airline industry will take a knock now, but the last thing we need is for Boeing to go under. The competition between Boeing and Airbus needs to be healthy for ongoing development of better, more efficient aircraft. -

Oh dear, looks like preperations for first flight were a little premature. The Nightmareliner is turning into a PR disaster for Boeing. Of course not.... it's a design issue..... Of course he wouldn't admit they cocked up.... he never does. This of will have a knock on effect to the certification program - all test planes will need modifed, and first delivery will also be affected. Boeing will deny this will happen as it would probably lead to further cancellations. More cancellations looming? The interesting quote is "Boeing not behaving in a professional manner" - Considering the body strengthening issue was discovered in April and they have waited until after the Paris Airshow, and also a week before the "first flight" to go public about it, then I think Qatar are correct in their statement. -

Oh dear....... the Boeing fanboys will be crying today!!! -
Just booked myself another Emirates flight...... and this ones a Skywards reward flight.......... And I get to fly on the A380 DXB-BKK! Wonder if they'll give me a free upgrade me again..... got a biz class upgrade on a reward flight last year..... on 3 out of my last 4 trips I got an upgrade. They certainly do look after their frequent fliers. On my last flight the trolley dollies were bringing me bottles of red wine without even asking if I wanted another.......

Same flight but different prices,Information for all
TheFiend replied to Dr Mick's topic in Airline Discussion
I always book with Emirates Online.... and it has it's advantages, extra airmiles for frequent fliers when booked on-line and reward tickets discounted 10%..... So an economy reward ticket cost 67.5K airmiles instead of 75K. And the prices are as cheap as agent websites. The there's the advantage of picking where I want to sit.......... Extra legroom sir..... that'll do nicely. -
I'd hate to see some of your barfines if you think that old dinosaur the 747 is good looking!

Late departures can happen with any airline, as for connecting flights Emirates will often delay the departures of connecting flights to allow people to make connections. On my last trip they held all the connecting flights as the arrivals were coming in late due to fog. Did you ever think of pressing the service button above your head, or even walking down to the galley? If you book with Emirates on-line, not only can you chooose where you sit, but you can also specify what meals you would like. If you ask the flight attendants they usually try and rearrange seating so that families can be together. Lost luggage can and does happen with any airline, not just Emirates. Most airlines levy a charge for changing reservations.......... that is, if the ticket you bought allows changes, as not all do. I have done 8 trips with Emirates, I admit not every trip has been a perfect flight, but it wont't stop me using them. They offer flights to DXB and BKK from 3 airports within 2 hours of where I live and that means I don't have to travel all the way down to London (350+ miles) to catch a BKK bound flight.
