I have just got a Panasonic LCD - Top of the range model. It didn't cost me a penny - the company I work for paid for it. :) Picture quality in HD is stunning. I am in the process of adding it on to my home network for media streaming (it has Ethernet) and it can also play DIVX movies stored on SD cards. Got an HD satellite box feeding it, but it also has an internal satellite input which I have connected to another dish to pick up some Thai TV for the other half. It came with a free 5 year guarantee - for peace of mind, not that I have ever had a problem with any Panasonic stuff I have bought. Did have a look at a Samsung LCDs and LEDs but went for the Panasonic instead.

As a European taxpayer I am quite happy that my taxes are going towards keeping Airbus employees in a job!!!

But it didn't perform as the aircraft had been "originally" designed - otherwise they wouldn't have had to modify the design, would they? If they had designed it correctly the first time they wouldn't have needed to modify it to pass the stress tests! This is what happens when something has been rushed to meet unrealistic deadlines.

Now that is lame... The wing attachment are fundamental to the design of an aircraft...... you would have thought they could have designed them correctly in the first place, after all Boeing have many years experience in building aircraft.

If it had been designed right in the first place they wouldn't have had to redesign it, and the first flights wouldn't have been delayed as much!

Notice the lack of mention about the fact that it needed the wing fixings redesigned.

I know one thing..... I would rather my taxes were used to support European jobs via loans/subsidies to Airbus instead of paying some dodgy politicians pocket expenses claim....

There was girl I knew that worked at a bar on Beach Road near Pattaya Klang that died with Aids. I found out about a year after I last saw her that she had died. And before anyone asks.... No I didn't.

And suprise!, suprise! - the specs have now been changed to favor Boeing.

Or complaining about getting a tax-free subsidy to his income from his government...

And I still prefer to fly in an Airbus....

This week met one of our American managers - the company I work for has been taken over by a Euro-American consortium and they are wanting to bring in American practices into the company..... They now want to talk about our Terms and Conditions and they are going to have big fight on their hands when it comes to renegotiating them. They seriously think the workforce will give up the majority of their allowances in exchange for the chance of a bigger bonus. They also want to re-organise shift patterns, increase mobility and make loads of other changes...... And they seriously think it can all be done in 4 months. They stand no chance!!!

Nice to see my taxes being put to good use........ I would rather they are used on EADS than paying out dodgy expenses claims by politicians.

Oh dear.... so it is still living up to the Nightmareliner name.

And the 747-8 program is highly unlikely to recoup the program costs due to it's limited appeal to the market.....

I see Boeing have been a bit quiet about the 747-8 order book being reduced by 2 in January after Guggenheim Aviation Partners reduced their order from 4 to 2..... And Boeing are already trailing Airbus in orders for this year

The company I am working for is being run by a consortium lead by an American company. They have been given a long term contract with a set budget to work to, and any profit for them has to come from savings they cab make within that budget The idea they are pushing at the moment is to achieve 6 years work for the cost of 5. The only way they can achieve this is by reducing their biggest cost - labour. For a start they could do thing like kick out contractor companies who charge them ridiculous figures for simple jobs..... like replacing 10 showers at a cost of £20K for the job, or £500 to replace a door lock, and get the work done by their own workforce!
