Ok, so we have a Halloween party at FLB on the 31st. I will look forward to that.

I will give you an update. I am flying them to BKK on Oct. 28. If they treat me as well as they did last time I will be happy.
-
Good job. I look forward to your monthly editions.

Use the bottle water for brushing teeth. There is little difference between brushing your teeth with the tap water and drinking it. If you live in Pattaya for a long time like MM your body will become use to the tap water and it will probably not bother you. Why take the chance, use the bottle water. Beats being sick for a couple of days or so and the bill at the clinic.

JFK is their only port of call in the USA.

I looked up their coach fare. $1,593.59. That is much too much for coach. I found the seats to be the same as on Lufthansa, Thai, & Cathy Pacific. I have flown them all. I don't care about the lack of a tv monitor in the back of the seat. I read or sleep and never watch the tv on long flights. I will try to take some pics this time. I am 6' 4" and 260 lbs. I don't fit in a coach seat too well and it is quite a long flight from the US to BKK so a few extra dollars are well spent as far as I am concerned. I enjoy their lounges as well.

This is not a bad deal business class. Granted Aerosvit is pretty much a plain jane airline but service in business class is good and the seats are the same as business class seats on the rest of the major airlines. Food is about the same as on the rest of the airlines. I flew with this airline in Feb. When I arrived at JFK they contacted me and told me that my flight from JFK to Kiev was delayed by 4 hours which would cause me to miss my connection in Kiev to Bangkok and they only fly that route every other day. Their customer service supervisor was most helpfull and rebooked me on Lufthansa to Frankfurt (business class) and from Frankfurt to Bangkok on Thai Airways (first class) so the trip over was not bad at all. On the return flight I flew Aerosvit from BKK to Kiev and then from Kiev to JFK.(all business class) when I returned in April. I can not say how it was in coach but business class was fine unless you need a tv in the seat backs and they do not offer these, just one large screen in the front of the cabin. Other than this no difference from the other airlines. Cabin was clean and food was pretty much the same. Their business class lounge in Kiev was very nice with good food and any drinks you wanted at no charge. Next best business class fare I could find was around $5,000. (US)

jballstate replied to jballstate's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks Dave, Look forward to seeing you in November. I will arrive October 30, just in time for Halloween. I really need a pool. Love to see the thai girls swimming around in those thong bikinis. -
I have had 2 ladies overnight with no problems. Have taken as many as 5 back to play in pool. Wifi is free. I have stayed there numerous times.

Condo with pool for month of November
jballstate posted a topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Anyone know of a nice condo with pool for rent in Pattaya for month of November. I usually stay in the Residence Garden but was wondering if a month rental on a nice condo would be better. -
GHOST SEX A professor at the Auburn University was giving a lecture on Paranormal Studies. To get a feel for his audience, he asks, 'How many people here believe in ghosts?' About 90 students raise their hands. Well, that's a good start. Out of those who believe in ghosts, do any of you think you have seen a ghost?' About 40 students raise their hands. That's really good. I'm really glad you take this seriously. Has anyone here ever talked to a ghost?' About 15 students raise their hand. Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?' Three students raise their hands. That's fantastic. Now let me ask you one question further...Have any of you ever made love to a ghost?' Way in the back, Ahmed raises his hand. The professor takes off his glasses and says 'Son, all the years I've been giving this lecture, no one has ever claimed to have made love to a ghost. You've got to come up here and tell us about your experience.' The Middle Eastern student replied with a nod and a grin, and began to make his way up to the podium. When he reached the front of the room, the professor asks, 'So, Ahmed, tell us what it's like to have sex with a ghost?' Ahmed replied, "Shit, from way back there I thought you said Goats."

JFK TO BKK (roundtrip)(business class)
jballstate replied to jballstate's topic in Airline Discussion
I as well miss the Thai Airways non-stop from JFK to BKK. Flew it several times. They still offer the service out of LAX but by the time I fly to LAX I have added 7 hours to my trip so it is just not an option. -
JFK TO BKK (roundtrip)(business class)
jballstate replied to jballstate's topic in Airline Discussion
I can state for sure that business class does exist as I flew it back from Bangkok in April of this year. Large confortable reclining seats which are the same as in business class of other airlines. Only real difference I noticed was that there were no tv monitors in the back of the seats. That did not really bother me as I sleep and read on flights. They did have one large screen in the front of the business class cabin. Food was as good as on other airlines. I would have flown them from JFK to BKK in March of this year, infact booked the flight on them, but when I arrived at JFK Aerosvit called me on my cell phone and advised me that my flight would be delayed 4 hours leaving JFK. The real problem there was that I would miss my connection in Kiev and be stranded there for over 24 hours. In view of this they rebooked me on Lufthansa to Frankfurt (business class) and then from Frankfurt to Bangkok on Thai Airways (first class) so I had no problem with this as they picked up all additional charges. One other perk was they furnished limo service to JFK from anywhere in NY City for the outbound flight and upon return furnished limo service from JFK to anywhere in NY City. I flew from Virginia into LGA and they picked me up there and took me to JFK. On the return flight they picked me up at JFK and took me to a Marriott in NY City at no charge for the transportation. The bottom line is that I will fly them again in October due to the price difference. -
Found this business class airfare on Aerosvit Airlines site. Have flown them before. I always stay at the Residence Garden and the Alois is just across the street from the hotel. When I was in Pattaya from November to January my lady and I ate at this restaurant several times and on several occasions took other friends there with us. Each time we were pleased with the quality of the food and the service. The restaurant always seemed to be doing a brisk business each time we visited during this period. When I returned to Pattaya in March we again went to Alois for dinner. This time the restaurant was empty with exception to one other man who was dining there. I ordered scallops and received a plate containing only three small scallops on top of a plate full of different greens. The scallops were like rubber. My lady ordered a steak which was as tough as an old boot. I informed the manager of my disapointment in both the quality and quanity of the food and he said he would mention it to the chef and hoped that we would be better pleased on our next visit to the restaurant. I told him "No problem, this is our last visit". I better understand why the place was empty on our last visit. Something has changed there but I am not sure what other than the quality of the food.

Girlfriend and I ate there a number of times and each time it was a good value for the money. Probably one of the best restaurants in Pattaya.
-
Try the beef stew at the Pig & Whistle. They give you a hugh bowl and it is very good. Actually I found all of their items to be good and ate there a number of times during my past 2 trips to Pattaya. Their traditional Christmas dinner was excellent also.
-
We ordered pizza from Nick The Pizza several times late night and they were fast and good. They also have a number of other dishes such as pasta, wings, ect which they deliver to your hotel.
-
The girlfriend and I ate at Gooses in March and we both were pleased with the meal. Would eat there again.
-
I have flown Thai Airways several times as well as a number of other airlines and I can not recall any being any better than Thai. Cathy Pacific is also very good as is Singapore Airlines. Is really hard to say which of these 3 is better.

The one Thai airline listed, One Two Go Airline, flys mostly domestic routes in Thailand as well as a few flights to some close neighbors of Thailand. I flew them from BKK to Phuket a couple of years ago. It is a one class discount airline and I was supprised when we boarded what looked to be a new jet airliner. Service was excellent. While at the airport I observed several of their aircraft including a 747 on the ground. Could find no fault with them.
