I haven't stayed there recently because I thought it was an absolute shit hole and there are lots of other options around there

What Irishman is trying to say is the Nana does not have the Handicap Bars in the Tub so he can hoist his old ass out of the Tub <laugh

I've stayed in a Suite or Deluxe room the last 4 trips and really enjoyed it.

But.......trying to workout the details of my wife/girls coming to BKK and I'm wanting to pre-pay her room, as I won't be there myself. Been told I can not pre-pay with a credit card, as I must be there in person {some antiquated thinking}.

The Mgr. won't budge from her stance, so I told them to cancel my next 2 reservations, as I'll find another place to stay. Instead of taking care of a 3 time/yr customer, she managed to drive me away...

After much deliberations and reflections, the decision has been made..6 nights at Nana in BKK then off to Areca Lodge in Pattaya for 8 nights, then 'wonder" for last 4 nights in pattaya (possibly Skytop, The Vault or Penthouse)? Thanks everyone for their input. I will do my part to make everyone proud as I screw my way througout LOS. :clap1

I have never posted photos, but, when I stay in BKK I always stay at Nana. I stay in the suite rooms, cost about 2000 baht per night, but you get much more room, 2 TV's etc. Never seen any bugs. Only drawback is you are only allowed 2 guests and some of the rooms are over the disc.

Ty_

It's all good and nice but for 2000 Baht you get much better rooms in the same area, that's a fact too. I guess you can ask 100 people about the Nana and will get 100 different opinions. It may be better now then it was a few years back when I got my one and only look at a room where a friend was staying. Back then it was a dump. Just my opinion though.

cheers

Anyone have pics of the standard rooms? I made a reservation there for two rooms, but all they had left was the 1000 baht standards. Majestic Suites was booked as that was my first choice. I'd rather stay within walking distance and I gotta be on the cheap side as I'm limited on funds this trip. Only there for 2 nights as a friend of mine has never been to Thailand before and I figured that should be plenty before the weeklong stay in Pattaya. Any other recommendations within stumbling distance to NEP are welcome.

We stayed in a Deluxe on our last visit and it was nice, clean and the maid service was excellent, I copped for some food posioning while there and while having medical treatment the maids came by the room a lot to see if wifey was ok for everything even going to the shops for her ! so we can only say 1luv

By the way , the food posioning was from a meal away from the Nana !

I stayed in Nana for 5 months, paying the bills when they got over 20,000 baht. A few months later I stayed 2 nights on a visa run, was enthusiastically welcomed back by the reception staff, went to the room, made a local phone call and reception called and insisted I go down and pay 22 baht for the call. I said You're used to me running up bills of 20,000 baht, what's the problem. They said the bellboy decided I had a small bag so I have to pay cash on the nail. The bellboy for christ's sake. Well, they may have insisted with three different calls but I didn't go down for a long time, had a row with them (the old lady cashier who I'd cultivated before was sympathetic) and I won't stay there again. But everyone should stay there at least once, the amount of willing pussy around the lifts who need only a "c'mon" to immediately go fcuk you in your room is an eyeopener/education for a newby, it kinda sets you up with the right easy-go casual-sex attitude for the rest of your trip.

I've stayed in the Nana 3 times now, i don't always stop in Bangkok, sometimes i just head for Pattaya. Anyway on my last trip in June because i travelled alone i decided to get the Airport bus to Sukhumvit, stay at the Nana a couple of nights, then get the bus down to Pattaya.

When i checked in they remembered me and were all smiles, but before i'd always payed for my room when checking out, this time they insisted i pay upfront, when i was in the lift with the bellboy i asked him why the change of policy, he pointed to my luggage, i was travelling light & only had a holdall. It seems they were frightened of me doing a runner.

When you think about it anyone doing such a thing would have to be brainless, they've got your passport information ect, at best it would result in a trip to the monkey house and a fine, at worst a permanent ban from Thailand.

I just thought well this is Thailand mai pen rai, & payed up, as for the hotel itself, the rooms are clean, the buffet breakfast very good and for a single man like myself the best place in the world.

Having read so many mixed reviews of the Nana hotel, I spent two nights there in May. The only room available on short notice was a standard and I was surprised it wasn’t as bad as many folks reported. I only saw one cockroach as opposed to two such bugs at the more expensive Omni Tower later during my trip. I was especially pleased at having a large bathtub with genuinely hot water; something more expensive hotels in Thailand often lack. I wasn’t as impressed with the Nana’s included breakfast buffet as some members are, but it’s still better than the limited menu breakfast available complimentary to guests at Omni Tower. The Nana hotel’s location is definitely hard to beat.

Thanks to all for their input. I continue to believe my decision to try the Nana for the first BKK experience is a good one, at least for the first few days. I would have done the same at the Flipper in Pattaya if it wasn't forever booked, so opted for Areca. Looking forward to Nana parking lot and proximity to NP! With Soi Cowboy a short skytrain away I'm sure I'll have plenty to report upon my return (IF I return) :D

Someone recommended a "suite" at the Nana, but the hotel informed me via email there are no suites available. Others have stated BGs won't go with you if you have a room at the Nana (which I'm not sure about but I seriously doubt it). So, lot's of information to be gleaned - some good and some questionable. All in all, however...lots of fun sifting through it. Nana? I'm on the way!

I have never had a girl avoid going to the Nana with me. See if you can get a Deluxe room when you go. I aways stay there my first few days in BKK. One night almost 1AM I decided to get some action from the disco downstairs. I never even made it in as I saw a cutie on my walk from the elevator to the entrance. "Hi, want to to go upstairs shorttime?" "OK". :bj2 :beer

Hi

Wish I was in the Nana now. :o Would be glad even too see those famous roaches(which I've never seen) if it meant I could have a taste of some other local delicacies.

:P :moon
