Taking my first trip to Pattaya in September...

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to the board and am trying to learn as much as possible before I head to Thailand for the first time in early September.

If there is any crucial information that anyone has about traveling to Thailand from the U.S. I'd love to hear it.

Thanks!

1) Bring lots of money

2) Bring condoms, unless you have a small willy like an Asian

3) Bring lots of money

4) Change your name to Handsum Man before leaving for your trip

5) Bring lots of money

6) If it's tall, beautiful, and has huge knockers, it's probably hung better than you

7) Bring lots of money

8) Before coming, ask yourself 12,387 times if you want to buy some suit or shirt.

9) Bring lots of money

10) Did I mention bring lots of money?

Matey you will get lots of smart repiles doing an initial post like this. IF You are really new to the board, then divulge as much information from this board and maybe 1 or 2 more boards. We were all in your situation once matey and i am still making fuck ups after god knows how many trip,s so it aint gonna be plain sailing.

Having said that you are going to the best city in the world so hey, You will either fall in love or you will take it to a duck like to water ha ha. There is no rational about the place.

The only advice I can give is to bring a 1/3 more of your of your budget and enjoy the rollercoaster!!!

By the way let us know how it went!

Ha.

Someone said Pattaya is the best city in the world. Bollocks, it is a dirty, smelly shithole. Now get over the filth and smell of shit and rotten fish, then it is a monger's paradise, but don't think you are coming to a nice, clean, sterile city.

Somebody else said don't fall in love. Bolllocks, do what you want, just not with he first girl you meet, having said that, maybe she is the one, but 99.9999% of the time she isn't.

Better to fall in lust, and with a few. If this is your first experience of Thai girls, which it probably is, they rock your world, but seriously, for every one with the most perfect ass or tits or whatever, there is another better.

Use your first trip (yes first) as a tester. Be ruthless, one girl, one night, and by the end, work out what it is that makes you and them tick, because if you don't, you will fall in love with the wrong one and it will fuck you up totally.

Hook up with boardies, and take their advice when there.

Before you leave the US, stop by your bank and let them know you will be using your ATM card in LOS. Do the same for your credi cards. Stop by your local MD and update your tetanus shot. If you like Pattaya and plan on coming back get the series of hepatitis shot.

How to you get from the airport to Pattaya? Couple of guys on here provide reliable service. I us fellow BM lostinspace for transportation. His wife does the driving and she's a safe driver. Newish Toyota pickup.

Number of good hotel's in Pattaya Tropical Bert's guest house is well located, clean, cheap with in room safe. Eastiny Hotel are another group of hotels that are good.

ATM machines are all over the place same with 7/11, Starbucks, KFC and many other creature comforts.

BG prices range from 500 ST & 1K LT for beer bar BG and higher for GO GO girls.

Drink plenty of bottled mineral water. Enjoy your stay.

I'm in Pattaya from 16 September, let's get together for a beer. PM if interested.

Oh shit, easier said then done!

1) Don't bareback a Bargirl unless you like playing russian roulette

2) Be careful when talking to or referring to the thai royal family

NEVER BREAK THE ABOVE 2 RULES

4) When pissed remember the name of your hotel and which soi it's on

Very important and easily done. Once checked in ask for a hotel business card.

Hook up with boardies, and take their advice when there.

PM me if you want to hook up

Enjoy your 1st visit!

Don't forget to get your complimentry t-shirt from the Cheap Charlie Foundations. It reads, "I pay 500ST & 1000LT" on the front, and "You can find me in front of 7-11 sittin at the table drinking cheap beer if you change your mind", on the back of it.

Good one. Better, get a card from the hotel, and make sure it has the name and address in Thai.

Then you only have to remember where you put the card, heh.

One iron-clad rule I'm surprised was not mentioned: Do NOT make plans beyond your first 10 minutes. Even then, they'll likely go up in smoke.

Take out travel insurance. Do not flag down am empty baht bus as the driver may charge you 100 baht for hiring it. Stay away from tourists that tell you they have just lost their wallet. Do not buy illegal drugs. Do not talk to timeshare Conartists. There are no one day sales of precious stones. Never go with a guy that shows you pictures of sexy ladies offering sanuk. You do not owe allegiance to any bar or any girl. Have an oil massage everyday. Get a manicure and a pedicure. Go to a beauty salon and get a facial. Try drinking cocktails during the evening( i like a Tequilla sunrise or 4). Stroll along the beach. If it is not raining try walking around soi Bukoaw. Food from the street vendors is cheap and good enough quality. Indulge in a soapy massage. Not all Thai people will try to rip you off so you will make many Thai friends. Tip your maid 20 baht everyday. There are many good girls working in Pattaya so do not attempt to grope every girl you see. Thais drive on the left hand side so be careful when you cross the road. Do not carry a wallet full of money with you or wear jewelry. Many of the beggars that you will see are conartists that are working for criminal gangs(there are some very genuine people that have to beg to live) . . You are not obliged to buy any girl a drink just because she asks you. Don't make any plans as such just see what happens everyday... The main thing to remember is that you are on vacation and to relax.
