VT6 Central Pattaya - SCAM ALERT!

Recommended Posts

Planning a trip early May and thought I would try a condo for a change.

Been offered a place in VT6 for 500Baht a night.

I've heard there could be some noise due to building work.

Any feedback or comments on VT6?

Thanks

500 baht per night sounds OK. The location is halfway decent. I'm not sure about construction noise, though. It could be that many of the units in the building are being fitted out, so you might have to deal with that kind of noise.

Sorry for my ignorance but what/where is VT6? Is it those blocks on the right on the way into Jontiem? View Talay or something like that?

Glyn.

View Talay 6 one of the chain of VT condos.

It is in central Pattaya between Soi 9 & 10 between 2nd road and beach road.

I think there are 27 floors so it is quite big.

For what it's worth, here's a picture of the place a few years ago, when they were still building it. It's the big tall building. Looking down Second Road towards Big C.

I stayed there in May last year and the noise never bothered me but I could sleep through a hurricane.

The 2 best selling points for me were it being new and it was the perfect location. Halfway to everywhere.

Would you care to share where you are renting from for 500 @ nt.

That is considerably less than anything else I've seen at VT6.

DITTO! Hard to believe such a low figure, the enquiries I've made about condos on a Monthly rent want a mimnimum of 23,000 bht plus utilities! That is in the LOW season.

Hi,

20-25,000 baht is the kind of price we found on the Internet,

but if you look on Carrefour or FriendShip boards, you find VT6 at about 15,000 baht/month. :nod

500 baht/day, if on a daily base, is very cheap though :clueless

You guys are getting me worried - if it's too cheap I hope it's not a scam.

I've paid up front using paypal!

I'll ask if he is ok with me posting his details on here.

If it does turn out to be a scam I'll definitely post his details on here!

I just got back from a 2 week Pattaya trip and I stayed at VT6, 17-610. The location is excellent, car and foot entrance on 2nd, foot entrance on Beach, short walk to the ocean, short walk to Central Village, which has a food market, a food court, restraurants, cinema, bars, shopping. Cool place. The noise you will hear is from the building of the Hilton Hotel, which won't be done until Q3. You will hear it for sure, I hope you are not on that side. I really liked VT6, but my many night BG did not. They have a very good, very legit Thai massage (loved it) shop there, laundry, coffee shop, etc. The pool is very clean and nice. If you don't mind the noise, bring good ear plugs, it's very nice.

..., short walk to the ocean, ...

There is no ocean at Pattaya... 2guns

Maybe the shorter way is to go to Phuket to see Indian Ocean 2guns

Or probably somewhere in Myanmar...

VT6 is my favorite location in Patts these days. My last trip in Dec had some noise from the mall construction, but the main annoyance was occasional construction noise from other condos being fitted out in the building (it's a relatively new building, so there's more noise than the older places like VT2A & VT2B in Jomtien where I also stayed before).

500B/day is an amazing deal compared to the other prices I've seen from a few companies that rent in VT6 - I've paid as much as 2,000/B for one day for a tiny room (not from Dancewatchers that time Obsession, so settle down and put your dick back in your pants). So as long as your "condo" doesn't end up being a cardboard box in the parking lot, I think I & a lot of other BMs would apprecate you posting a review with pics & the contact details of the owner (or you asking him to post his own details on the board).

Quick tip: you have to use an electronic key to open the gate for Beach Rd. So if you bring any girls in that way, be sure to tell them that they have to exit out front to 2nd Rd - or else they'll be trapped waiting for someone to come in so they can get out (I forgot a couple times my first trip). And Honey's in the lobby does a great job for your laundry as well as speaking excellent English for any translating service you might need.

Hi SF, Thanks for the tip about the beach road entrance. Kleyshav sent me a pm and he has the same condo as me so as he is flying out tomorrow I'll find out if it is legit before I go!

I must say all the contact I've have with the owner has been good so I'm hopeful. In fact I have also booked a 2nd condo for a mate who is going over a week into my trip. The 2nd condo is a friend of the owners.

The location looks great and I've been past it a few times without taking much notice of it before.

Although I don't know the exact m2 of the condo, I have been assured by the owner it is a 1 Bedroom and not a studio, so hopefully room to swing that proverbial cat or pussy :D

You won't find me in any VT6 threads, unless someone is being economical with facts  So fess up. It's noisy at the moment because they are building. Once all the building work around it is finished in the next year or so, you can kiss DWs ass forever, with your adverts that you disguise as reviews :D

Hi,

At 500 baht/day I would not expect something else than a studio,

and they are rather smallish in VT6 : about 38 sqm + terrace

Maybe the owner build a wall to separate his condo in bedroom + saloon ?

I stayed in VT6 through Dancewatchers for my first trip to Thailand in October and November. I had a unit facing the central Mall and I paid 1300 baht per night (water and electric included). It was a studio that came with a flat screen tv, DVD entertainment system, full size fridge, etc.

During the 10 night stay I experienced noise from both the building of the Hilton and construction of a unit next door. For the total time that I was there, I would say that I dealt with about 1 hour of noise that I could not sleep through...mainly during the day. That's one hour total for the entire 10 night stay.

If I could get the same room for 500 baht I would be all over it...as is, I am actually paying 1500 baht a night for my trip in May. I am not advertising for dancewatchers just stating the facts.

You can view the photos of my room by looking at the trip report (First Time in Thailand).

Please don't think my posts are aimed at anyone except the BM I quoted. I am disappointed Smelly brought my name up, and I therefore felt I had to respond. I would prefer to stay out of the VT6 threads as I did with the previous one, but Smelly can't leave it.

Regarding the noise. I haven't stayed there. If you say it ain't noisy I am inclined to believe you. I din't believe Smelly because he posted ealsewhere that he had to wear ear plugs, but omitted to tell BMs on this forum. I put it right for him. :D

Well folks, I can guarantee I can hear no noise whatsoever in VT6. The reason, cos it's a 100% scam. :D I turned up at VT6 at the agreed time

and no-one there to meet me. Called the guys number and phone is finished / off.

My driver had a chat with reception and they pointed my in the direction of another guy sitting there duped by the same 'deal' who had been waiting 3 hours for someone to turn up. He had all the same details.

My driver was good as gold and she asked to see a floor plan of the the building with the owners names. After going through that 'Mr Brian Bier' does not own a condo in the building.

Fortunately for me I refused to pay all the money and only agreed to pay a % of the short stay rent up front, as I was slightly sceptical, but it seems BM Beefos (who I have informed) and the guy in reception have paid a few hundred pounds.

Mr Bier's 'price' of 500 baht per night is compared to the real price of 700 baht per night, according to reception.

I have reported this to ebay and am currently speaking with paypal and my credit card company to try and get my refund, but not holding my breath.

This obviously caused me a bit of incovenience to start with but I wasn't hanging around for 3 hours so my driver, me and the bags just checked in elsewhere and thanks to Messers Messi, Torres & Robben this week, I have won my money back with interest so luckily it hasnt really affected me too much, it's just a few less san miguels during my holiday, so preserve your time and finger typing and save your gloating and 'too good to be trues' :D

This post if purely to inform others on here.

Apologies fellow BM's, it was just me and my bags that checked in elsewhere, the driver just drove me there :D

Wishful thinking on my part !!!

Fortunately, there are plenty of reasonable places to stay in Pattaya. If one place doesn't work out, just go next door! I suppose it can get to be a pain in the ass, though, if you have a lot of luggage.

Got the PM Kleyshay - thanks for letting me know, at least I can sort out an alternative before getting there.

I have paid out a couple of hundred quid via paypal & credit card so lets see how much security that offers!

I've reported it to both and I'll also inform ebay.

Anyone know of a decent place to stay???
