Netherlands advance to the finals

Recommended Posts

Netherlands hung in, it looked like a cakewalk 3-1 till Uruguay booted one in late in the game. Pretty chippy toward the end, and what's with Van Boomen (sp?) not getting carded till it was almost over? and extra time added when everyone thought it was time to hit the showers?

Kind of a strange end to a game but the wooden shoes won. Up against Germany or Spain after tomorrow's match.

Hi,

That reminded me of Paul Scholes.

His name is Marc Van Bommel and he has been a great asset to our team. He barely made any fouls all WC so I have nu clue what you are on about.

We hung in there last night but it wasnt pretty. Dont give a flying fuck to be honest as we're in the final and you lot arent 1luv

another 10mins and Urugray could have taken it to extra time. Why do teams not kill off opponents when they obviously have the talent to do so. A goal lead is definitely not enough and a 2 goal lead is the worse lead to have.

Van Brommel blatantly hauled a player down and the ref did/saw nothing. A few minutes later he was carded for something trivial, which is probably a tacit recognition that he should have been carded earlier.

Whatever, I'm cheering for the Netherlands. Germany's already won enough times and I don't like the Spanish cuz they steal our fish. I'd rather Germany won that Spain but for the next few days I'm a Netherlands fan.

And no one notices the 6,000-pound elephant in the room, pooping all over the floor:

When Sneijder took the shot on the Uruguayan goal, striker Robin Van Persie was (apparently) in line - to the assistant referee - with defender Diego Godin, who was the second-last opponent (the last one is the Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera). However, TV replays showed that his right foot was beyond the line, and according to the interpretation of the laws, the Arsenal striker was in an offside position, as a part of his body with which it is legal to score a goal was beyond the second-last defender.

What's a "passive offside"?

The passive offside is one of the most debated FIFA soccer rules over the last few years and it seems they finally found a good way to handle it. A player is in "passive offside" if he's in an offside position but doesn't play the ball, in which case the ref doesn't call the offside.

Have to disagree with you there. A passive offside is a guy who is offside and is directly in the line of the ball and is impeding the defensive players.

To put it another way, give me a break. The officials blew the call yet again. A passive offside is any offside that the ref and linesmen both miss and think it wasn't offside at all. In this case, the only effect was that the Dutch won the game, not really important, right? Uruguay was (so far) VERY classy to take it on the chin as part of Sepp Blather's form of the game.

Porn star offers to blow all her followers on Twitter if the Netherlands wins the World Cup.

If I were Reneener, living in Holland, I would not hesitate to be blown by any of those four girls. I would be happy to have the BJ in public and have it shown on youtube.

Speaking of youtube. Joekicker's video convinced me that that goal was offside. When I watched that game yesterday, I thought it might have been offside. The video has me convinced, that it was offside and it was not a passive offside either.

Okay, now it's personal.

The final will be the Netherlands vs Spain.

I don't want Spain to win. They fish in international waters just outside Canadian territory, taking as much fish as they want and not giving a fuck about a sustainable fishery.

so fuck them. I don't want those fish thieves to win. Come on Netherlands!
