Ah, how did I miss this little gem? FYI I don't have such. I hope that makes us - different?

It's safe to say from your respective postings on the board that there are light years of difference between you and Cennn3.

I've just doubled it to 20+ and 4-.

And, due to some obvious vote stuffing by a couple of members I have located, the limits are back to +10/-2. The characteristics of a vote stuffer are that they make it a point to use all their + votes for a single member, and use their - votes for anyone who disagrees with that poster...on a daily basis. They are rating the poster, not the posts.

Thus you have, through the efforts of a single "white knight righting all wrongs" member, a rapid rise in the reputation of a particular member.

There is a member group that vote stuffers can be placed in that removes their voting rights. It's there for further abusers of the system.

Both BigD and Gabor have benefited from their white knights.

Here is an example of a vote stuffer's effect on one poster's rep rating:

I often use my iPad and I think around 20% of my votes would be miss clicks.

Why are people able to give 5x as many positives as negatives?

Gabor moans constantly about what he feels are unjust negative votes. But if you look at his Reputation page, you'll see that the vast majority of negative votes he received are for posts in which he indulged in name-calling, insults or inane conspiracy theory stuff. There are two or three posts for which he may have gotten negative votes he didn't deserve, but that can depend on the context of the whole thread, not just a single post. It could even be down to fat-finger errors. In any case, there are very, very few "innocuous" posts for which Gabor has received negative votes.

But many, many of Gabor's plus votes were given to posts he wrote years ago, some as far back as 2003. Cenn3 (Baht) started the trend but he has a couple of imitators Here are some examples:

bahtold1Capture.JPG

GABB2Capture.JPG

GABB3Capture.JPG

GABBCapture.JPG

I counted about 25 positive votes on posts from 2003 and at least 100 on posts written prior to the introduction of the Reputation system in May last year. Check it out yourself. Make sure you go to the the "oldest" of his Rep pages: page 63.

Because Gabor isn't writing enough new posts per day, the members who wanted to vote him up had to go back in time to find posts for which to vote. They went as far back as 2003 in hopes of hiding their machinations. About a week ago, I watched in real time as one BM clicked on the green plus sign on every post Gabor had written in a meaningless thread. His rep total went up by 18 points in just a few minutes.

Who has abused the system more: those who vote down Gabor for name-calling, insults and idiotic content about conspiracies or those who vote him up on the basis of nine-year-old empty posts?

Ity would be REALLY, REALLY, REALLY nice if one of Gabor's supporters would have the courage of his convictions and answer my question.

Yes, let's see if the one who unilaterally boosted Gabor has an explanation. I'm not going to out him, but I wouldn't complain if someone else sussed it out.

The thing is, it's a bit of work to boost someone so diligently...you've got to view the target's posts in sequence, click on each one, plus vote it, then go back and take the next one, plus vote it, till you run out of plus votes.

Then, the next day, you have to find out where you left off, because you can't plus vote a post you've already done. Having done that, repeat as above.

It's obviously somebody with more time on their hands to "anonymously" mess with the system. It's also someone who has a low post count. If he felt so strongly about this, he should have spent all that time, posting rather than sabotaging.

I know! I know! Actually, three BMs have, as you phrase it, "diligently" supported Gabor. But I won't out them either. It would be good if one of them would come forward on his own and explain why.

It would be interesting to know for me, who is / are my supporters.... Now we play with assumes, myths... I told long before, make the votes public and no any conspiracy theories... However sometimes I was also surprised how quickly ran up and down my votes... so there are not only knights... but usually I know the 4-5 permanent neg voters... like Evil himself who gave me a negative vote on this post:

Reading this ... the field reports, makes me the wish to go back..... First time, following my return to Hungary.... Thank you guys for the efforts and time to make the reports....

Three? Then it must be "the will of the people".

It's the will of three individuals. At least it isn't a conspiracy, just three people who decided to boost Gabor's rep by voting him up every day. In about 10 days, Gabor swung from negative 30 to his current total above 100, thanks to votes from mainly three BMs.

So if we visit "Garbled's" profile we can see who's been visiting and playing games?

Not really. If you click Reputation, it will show you the posts where he has given reputation points.

You can just visit the posters reputation/received (or run a search that'll bring up a lot of their posts), go to the last page and vote each post up/down as you see fit. Your name won't then show up as having recently visited the topic either.

As an aside, some posts seem disinclined to accept clicks on the arrows - I've no idea why.

And, before people start second-guessing, it isn't me that's been voting up BigD.

So if we visit "Garbled's" profile we can see who's been visiting and playing games?

Go to Gabor's profile page. It will look like this:

Rep0Capture.JPG

In the Overview column, click on Reputation, then clicked on Received:

Rep0ACapture.JPG

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the "Final page" symbol (>>):

Rep1Capture.JPG

That will bring up a page that looks like this:

Rep2Capture.JPG

Click on the number of any post on that page (#61485 in the above example). That will take to the thread where the post originally appeared back in 2003.

Scroll down to the bottom of that page and you'll see who has viewed that thread since the last software upgrade:

Rep3Capture.JPG

Only two people have viewed that page since the upgrade. Since it is unlikely I've given Gabor the plus vote, the other name (which I have marked out) is the one who voted the post up. That BM, as well as Cennn3 (Baht) on some posts, has voted up many of Gabor's nine-year-old posts.

Just to be clear, that is additional information, but doesn't address the effort involved as I described, since I said nothing about how to view the target's posts.

That can certainly be done without visiting their profile.

Gabor's champion gave him nine more positive votes a few minutes ago, all posts from 2003 and none of them substantial.

I always give Gabor my daily votes.

Post 24 in this thread http://www.pattayata...-getting-worse/ I stated as much.

The last few days I had to resort to looking up old threads and voting their.

This is soley, so I can keep track of where I voted, as more often than not I am only logged in for a couple of minutes at a time.

Hence my votes are cast rapidly and as quickly as possible.

MM i am content and happy to pay a penalty, Ban me if you desire or make me negative 999 rep or - 999999999999999999999999

Edit in

I have finished reading the whole of the second page now.

All those screen prints :llaugh :llaugh :llaugh :llaugh :llaugh

It resembles a high school science project ?

Had I not exhausted my voting quota for today, Evil and MM you both deserve A+++++++++++++++++++++

Surley a pm to me would have sufficed ?

I still don't get why you get 5x as many posatives as negatives.

If someone makes 10 great posts and 20 shit and offensive posts they will end up with posative 8 on average.

Darn it I followed your 'procedure' and looked at a couple of very old Gabor posts that had received single positives. I was shown as the only visitor to the thread and now it appears I am the vote padder!!!!

I guess I forgot to select received......... I see a BM who is no longer active and CT who probably has also been playing detective!

It is possible if the "vote giver" accessed Gabor's post from another location than the thread itself. But that isn't the case with the votes on posts from 2003. Which year are you talking about?

I had been looking at posts where I think Gabor gave reputation rather than received. So my error.

As you say it is obvious that a now 'no longer active' BM was in there padding Gabor's reputation. I am more intrigued to wonder how close this BM was to Gabor.........?

If you are referring to Baht (Cennn3), I don't think he was personally close to Gabor at all. It was more a case of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

In other cases, it's probably a combination of dislike for Gabor's opponents coupled with showing support for Gabor's notion of paying the girls as little as possible. Gabor's supporters will most certainly have voted for his trip reports/go go reviews, which is entirely legitimate. But they want to show solidarity with him by giving him even more votes and there simply aren't enough TR/reviews on which to spend 10 or 20 plus votes a day. So they turn to ancient posts and/or nonsense threads with a lot of short posts by Gabor that they can click through quickly to use up their votes.

A few may even be protesting what they (incorrectly) feel is the unfairness of the rep system by vote padding. They hope all the silly games will cause MM so much trouble he'll be forced shut down the rep system, but that's not going to happen. If the vote padders can't take a hint, MM could always start "disenfranchising" them.

But I have to compliment jjprodigy on his honesty. So far he's the only "vote padder" who's come clean. As I said before, the others lack the courage of their convictions.

Hi MM,

I am not sure if I am one of those you speak about here, but I have maybe 2 or 3 times used my daily quota of +1 on Gabor.

It's a very small and quick work: just ask for a list of post-only from the member; a quick serie of Ctrl-Clic to open them in new tabs; then a serie of Clic"+1" and Ctrl-W on each onglet. 30 seconds? 1 minute at max.

I did that to compensate Gabor's reputation when several people clearly were doing the same at big scale with "-1" clics on random posts, sometimes very old and often having now reason to be minus-oned.

BTW I liked Gabor reports, but I already gave him "-1" on some of his "anti-secretologist" post... ;)
