Being an American I was happy to see Carl's Jr on the 3rd Floor of Central Festival on the Beach Road side. I remember this restaurant chain tried and failed at it's first attempt in the 1990's in Bangkok. I have to say I was pleased with the consistency as ordered the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and it was spot on. The price for the combo was 235 Baht not bad. The only thing different is the fries in the US are crinkle version if I remember correctly. Anyway, they make a good burger I hope they stay around a while.

Here's some photos:

I've enjoyed Carl's burgers as well. In some of their southern US restaurants they offer Mexican fare as well although I can't remember the name that it goes by.

In the Midwest US where I am from, they are known as Hardees.

I'm looking forward to trying them out on my next visit. They have to be better than that A&W that is/was up there.

The Green Burrito is co-located with Carl's Jr. in California.

That's it! Thanks Syd.

Was there tonight. Hadn't had it in decades as it's not available in Canada,

Burger was fresh yet somehow was extremely messy even before I bit into it. I like a messy burger but for a place with no customers it's inexcusable.

Tasted better than I remember but not worth 139 baht just for the toppings with almost no meat. Rather eat a Whopper.

So it's the Whopper Junior or cheeseburger for you I assume?

If the quality of the burgers is as good as when I lived in So Cal, I will be a great place to get a rare treat.

you're the only one on about the price for s baht bus.

You do get a bit religious about the price of Ssngsom drinks. 20 baht at New Plaza..is that cheap enough for you?

I tried this place for the 1st time on the weekend and have to say for me it was the best burger I have ever tasted. It was big and messy (which I don't normally like) but it tasted so good. I will certainly be paying a return visit very soon.

I just checked a website that claims Carl's Jr is much cheaper in the states.

I added sales tax of 7.750 % for Orange county and came up with 110 baht for the burger I paid 139 baht for last night (Famous Star with cheese @ $3.29).

I thought it was kinda pricy at a dollar more.

Maybe something to do with the fact that this is Thailand and not the USA.

rent, wages and other many things SHOULD be cheaper in the LoS.

No?

Where do they get the beef from?

Soi dogs I reckon!....(Obviously not a fan :-) )

Why and how can you criticize a place if you haven't tried it?

I went there yesterday, not a long hike since I live next door. Mushroom burger was very tasty, with fries and unlimited beverage (unfortunately not available for Heineken draft) for 239 I think. Much better than MacDonalds or Bk I'd say. Sure, the burgers are messy, they're supposed to be, it's their claim to fame. Now if there was only an In-And-Out Burger.
