Any cheap "serviced apartments" near the action?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I'm new to these forums but not new to the LOS. Spent over a month in BKK last year along with some time on Koh Samui and a few quick trips to Pattaya (But nothing extensive).

Anyway, I'll be spending two months in the LOS this year, of which two weeks will be in Pattaya. I'm looking for some type or serviced apartments or something I can rent for the two weeks I'll be there (October 22-November 5 IIRC) so I can keep the costs down, as I am now a full time student. I'm hoping for something under 1,000 THB a night average but am willing to pay up to 1,500. My main concern is that I need somewhere that a taxi driver can find...or somewhere so close-by/easy to get to that I can get there myself if need be at the end of the night when I am with my guest.

Any idea's?

Thanks a lot for the help guys.

For just two weeks, I'd just stay at a guesthouse or hotel. There are plenty in your price range. Or, you could rent a condo. Try Dancewatchers.com.

I wouldn't worry excessively about the taxi driver finding the place....... if you get a Bangkok one they couldn't find their own arse in Pattaya.

An easy solution is to have the hotel telephone number and get the driver to call for directions.

Once you have been there yourself you can guide a motorcycle taxi there, Pattaya proper still isn't so big.

Nova Park.

Mosaik Apartments near TukCom (about 10 minutes walk from Walking Street, two minutes by baht bus) have studio apartments for about 750 baht per night. Great location and value for money. You can book through Agoda.

You say "serviced apartment"

Does that mean you want a little more than a standard room?

This place does a special rate for members of this forum. Not sure what it is now, cos the banner has gone. Maybe MM could put up a link?

Anyway, you get two rooms with kitchen facilities, plus two swimming pools, and the baht bus goes past the door.

(I'll guess the rate is around 1600b these days, so at the top end of your scale)

I know a couple of guys who stay here: http://www.sutuscourt.com/rooms.html

Larger than average room, your price range, and easy to find.

You don't see the banner? I do. It pops up fairly regularly.

Canterbury tales has rooms with kitchen etc and may be better value for a student. Most kitchens are hardly used short time because your girl won't want to stay in for food.

Hey, just wanted to drop in and say thanks for all the great ideas. I'll actually be getting one room for myself for the two weeks I'll be there and then a different room somewhere else for when my Thai GF visits me on the weekends....never can be too careful.

Anyway, it's looking like these two are currently my favorites for this...

My thoughts are spending Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday night in the "Single guy room" and Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday night in the "boyfriend" room...that way I can be safe in case she shows up really early Friday morning or stays late on Sunday (Both likely).

Not sure if this behavior is frowned upon on these boards but It's pretty standard on the Bangkok boards I frequent.
