What is the Irish Rovers ok to stay in?

Recommended Posts

Just straight talking no crap needed is the Irish Rovers ok to stay in ? I mean has it decent bed a clean room and sheets at least every other day? The noise I can imagine to a certain time but one has to have a bit of sense and besides that a few bottles of tiger etc soon kills the noise, am well aware of the 99b breakfast fantastic.

Correct good value but not too many in a week! I have read reviews but I don't know where some of the people who write them come from or why they don't just be truthful and not spiteful!

Soi LK Metro has gotten very noisy. I used to stay there a lot but it is just too much now.

Other places that stay very noisy late are on Soi 7. I would imagine Secrets on WS is too.

Areca is close to there and not too bad.

But what the heck! A Pattaya vacation is not for sleeping.

Believe it or not, Secrets isn't necessarily noisy. However, they do have a few rooms with windows that open onto the back of the What's Up go go bar. This rooms can be noisy. But on the other side of the building, it seems to be fairy quiet at night.

So if you are lucky, you won't get the noisy room?

The stairs at Secrets would be hard on my knee to negotiate. If I recall there are no bannisters.

I have never stayed in the place but here is an opinion. I have talked to people who stay there and all seem to be happy with the place.

If you like being central to where its all happening then its a great location and finally, yes the breakfast, sitting outdoors overlooking Soi LK is a great way to kick your day off. I would give it a try.

I have stayed there, but not for over 6 years. I think ownership has changed a couple of times since then. When I stayed there it was quite noisy at night, but not from disco's/go-gos, but from the long-time residents (or particularly one of them) who loved to play his CDs very loudly (and usually repetitively) all bloody night when he was on a "melancholy" bender. Maybe it was just that time I stayed there, but I didn't take the risk again. Food was good, the bar was not closed in or air-conditioned then, and I enjoyed the location. I definitely would prefer staying at the Metro Apartments, and I did next visit, but the stairs don't agree with my buggered knees.

Quite a few reviews on Trip Advisor...... :D

Personally I would go for a hotel slightly away like the Areca as I like to get the odd night of sleep and it is just too busy around Soi LK Metro at night.

The Areca is not bad and has two pools - one off the lobby. They have internet next to the front desk.

My only complaint was there was a lack of dresser drawer/cabinet space for your clothes. I lived out of a suitcase. I was in the back building by the large pool so I can't speak for the entire hotel. Overall I was pleased. It is in an excellent location and set back from Soi Diana a bit.

It is a bit 'busy' out back as there are a couple of condo projects ongoing there. At one time I counted 6 cranes around that area.

Still? I was last in that hotel three or four years ago.

As I face the back pool from my room, there was a big empty lot to the left. Roosters would crow every morning in that lot.

Is that the lot the buildings are going up on?

More than likely, there has been continuous construction in that area (soi 15) for a few years now and you see more cement trucks than ice-cream sellers. I always though it to be a good place for a condo, central and just cut through The Avenue and you are practically on the Beach. If it is 4 years since you saw it there has been a lot of construction since.
