And you thought Pattaya lacked 'culture'?

I shall dust off my tux and make sure I have plenty of 20 baht notes.

Will they be selling the flower garlands?

Nowt wrong with a bit of culture although I'm not into opera, but as a youngster I learned to play the violin and viola so do appreciate more than a little bit of classical music... :thumbup

I do have some of violinist Vanessa Mae music in my collection (half Thai/half Singaporean), very talented musician.

Saw this (old?) poster on a concrete post on Pattaya Tai this morning.....not sure what year its from (some fly-posters stay up for years!)...but another example that its not all sex, drugs and rock'n'roll around these parts.

I like classical music and often play it when I'm trying to relax or be creative. I love listening to classical music when I'm having a candlelit bath. I can't say I'm a fan of the opera really but I do like the theatre. The wife and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera a few years ago. Great experience which I recommend. I want to go and see Les Miserables next. It would be good if versions of this were available to watch in Pattaya although I think it'll be a while yet! Who knows though? I've seen stranger things happen. A go go based on the theatre? Now there's an idea......... :D

There's a good chance they'll be singing some songs from Phantom of the Opera, hardly classical, but if I recall correctly it was scored by Andrew Lloyd Webber .

I saw a girl playing The Magic Flute once but not as Mozart intended.

Did anyone actually go to this show? Our friend, who is complaining about the noise in Sandy Spring, did, and by all accounts thoroughly enjoyed it. That is more than can be said for the girl, that my missus set up for him, and whom accompanied him. Apparently my friend is "The Tingest of all Tong" farang, and she is demanding compensation from my missus! :bhappy I have seen him in the bar, when some classical type stuff gets played, and he is one of those "air guitar" types, only with an "air conductor's baton" and very animated about it. I am not anticipating a lasting relationship there! :brokeheart
