If there is one view in Pattaya that always brings a big smile as you drive down the hill at any time of the day this is my most favourite.

What I'm calling the Nirun food court has a new addition that is getting built quickly by Thai standards.

Last Saturday the new place looked like this.

This morning the place has a roof and landscaping.

And opposite a new place looks like they're getting ready to open.

Wonder if this vacant land is next for development.

Looks like they're in the final phase of finishing the Akara hotel on Nakula Soi 31. That project started before the pandemic.

NOT misty!

That is haze from pollution. Mist "is a phenomenon caused by small droplets of water suspended in the cold air, usually by condensation".

My birth year

Did a bit of googling though and found that although it's Year of the Dragon, it's a Wood Dragon year and I'm a Water Dragon.  That combination has popped up twice in my life - birth year 1952 and also 2012.  Next combination is 2072 and I won't be around for that

But this coming lunar year should be good, hoping anyway...

I noticed a month ago the crash barrier at the entrance to the Hwy 7 flyover hadn't yet been replaced after saving 10 people in a car that hit it from serious injuries back in 2022. I went out this morning to get a photo of the crumpled barrier and was surprised to see they had replaced it, but with a less substantial barrier than the one before. Better than nothing I guess.

The crumpled crash barriers however at the south and north entrance to the underpass still need replacing.
