I thought that was into 'old' passports, ie those due to expire.

There is a form to do this which I filled in,but they never took it off me. Doesn't have a number but it is in here... It was very straightforward and one of the few things done free!

Personally I don't know any. Although I know some with misaligned teeth.... they are older.

Quite right, John Cleese made it look quite funny and it is far better to kick an inanimate object than try to do the same with it's driver. Thailand is certainly not a place to be out and about looking for trouble or an argument, for some apparently, that is done at a keyboard or mobile phone. Yes we get these things.... but every now and again there is a press report making a fuss over an honest taxi driver returning a wallet and passport left in his cab by a tourist. The Thais you will interact with in Pattaya are mostly not to be trusted. M/C... I usually use 2 when I go out, the first I always confirm the price, and usually it is 50 rounded up to 60.
