I went into the office at Mai-Pang and the wall had several letters posted praising the insurance. The English was pretty good so I think they were genuine. If the bike owner who rents out, also supplied the insurance, surely it is a matter of not having to shell out for the bike you damaged. Your liability could just be the deposit. Hospital bills might of course be a whole other matter.

It is a tiered charging rate.... but 1500 baht/month seems a lot for a condo if you rarely use the AC. What big - consumption items do you have, Electric Oven, large plug in vibrator? As I said mine averages out at 4.5baht/unit so your number sounds okay.

Green shield stamps..... Yeah the TGF tells me to save them but when I get sick of seeing them lying around I chuck them out. I recall in Hong-Kong an old lady used to scrounge them off you as you came out of the store.... surprised that doesn't happen here.

I am not 100% certain as my pal picked up the tab, but I think a bottle of beer was 145 baht in Spankys last night. That would mark the annual high season price round-up. I was in Superbaby prior at 120 baht a beer but the atmosphere was better suited to an astronaut. A half hour in another venue yielded a 600 baht tab......... Dragging cases of beer up steps is looking less arduous these days.

Mine averaged out (it is a tiered price structure) at about 4.5 baht per unit including a bit of tax. That makes Thailand 50% more expensive. But as I said it is tiered and if you are a higher level consumer those extra units are at a higher price. I use about 600 units/month.

I always use the place near the house....... (except when on a road trip), a tiny 10 baht tip every time I fill up and I feel I am remembered, given good service by the cute young girls and have never felt they would cheat me...often get the free bottle of water or box of tissues. Paying attention in Thailand should be the general rule, people taking cash are frequent cheats worldwide. Even had the girl at the bus-station in Moe chit trying it on for the few baht difference between the motorway bus and the non-motorway one. I find it most offensive in the hospitality 'industry'. people you would normally tip short changeing you or playing stupid games hiding coins.

I wouldn't say that, I asked the TGF yesterday and she said nobody at her school was ill.You have to wonder it it is being passed between monger-girl-monger-girl. Might be healthier to put that condom over her head.

Probably not an extractor unless that is an outside wall, just a filter and lights. I am guessing the cable is from power sockets behind the hob to feed the fan, and it is sad that it wasn't buried into the wall in a conduit and plastered over. But in Thai buildings, it is the wiring you cannot see you should be scared of!
