Haha, the whole area should be red.

Thanks for the update EP, I got stuck on the 3rd/Klang mess this week, I think it was Tuesday afternoon.... I also got delayed on Beach Rd in-front of Hardrock Wednesday PM due to the drainage project creeping North. I was actually trying to avoid the 3rd/Klang junction. I was doing the avoidance again yesterday going via Arunothai and Bongkhot, but sadly hitting a bit more mess when I got to 3rd. I appreciate the feedback on that junction. I wish there was a map of where all the shit is! But it seems to move around at pace. Heard that come May/June, cable burying and drainage work will take over Walking St, I can only imagine......

Too many of this types around, I don't really care what his excuse is. Living in Thailand .... no I take that back... living makes me wary of putting my phone down and leaving it. Sadly it becomes automatic sometimes and I was in Bali at a hotel at breakfast and a local woman came over to chat, real friendly, who knew the couple I was with, automatically I picked my phone up and put it in my pocket. This offended her....people who know Bali and their Hotel staff will understand, they are often exemplary. And yesterday, in a Thai hotel coffee shop, I watched an elderly falang man, sneakily collecting up little bags of sugar off a few different tables and slipping them into his bag, I felt both sorry for him and angry at him. Angry because I don't want to be grouped into this type of behaviour. -
Very common in the 3rd world to share facilities.... pretty common in the Middle East. But to blame a pilot is the most astoundingly crazy thing I have read. The pressure is on the pilot to fly the plane. Very much moreso if the airline has financial issues. He has 250 people behind him wanting to get somewhere. The 3 instances I can think of it seems very little analysis of the target was made, namely height, climb or descent and direction, or even count the number of engines. I expect behind the scenes there is now some technology being investigated to stop this, barn door principle. It appears these deadly weapons are both designed and being used without this awful possibility being considered. IE, the people shooting them off lack training and see little outside their sphere of kill or be killed! Even if the aircraft squawked 'I am an airbus A320 going to Manchester' you just know the military would have their weapons doing something similar.

It was a place I used many many years ago, these days it is well past it's prime. Although it ticks the location box....there are better suggestions here. -
I was using them regularly, well once a year, down to Bali. There was an early morning flight from BKK and I could arrive mid afternoon and get to the hotel and on the beer for the night. I also managed to get Biz Class for a reasonable amount... I guess I was taking advantage of their attempts to recover after 2 lost aircraft. Now that morning flight is not there and the alternative is like 5am from Swampy, pretty antisocial....and 3 hours layover. I also noticed their Biz Class is now priced up there with SQ... they aren't worth that! I am too picky though, finding a reasonable departure, duration and arrival time really makes the choices limited, but my days of getting to an airport at 4am, and hanging around in transit for 6 hours are behind me.

If all else fails, there is the Lek Hotel... -
Bloody right they have... got stuck trying to get through the 3rd/ Klang junction the other day, what a mess. Last night, in an effort to avoid that area, came down North Rd and got stuck on Beach Rd north of Hard Rock, the drainage project has advanced to that area now. It's all a royal pain in the ass and there seems to be no way around it!

I am saying charges likely would have been brought. And since the pilot ignored rules there would have been a likelihood of him or the airline having to answer to them. Particularly in your country where litigation is made for passing gas and blood-sucking lawyers creep out of the woodwork. But haven't we gone off topic... innocent airline passengers have again been killed by negligence and an apparently trigger happy military. You are playing both sides.

Quote me where I said that! Here is the incident you mention... not a 737 Max or otherwise.

A River Runs Through It.

Yes, and had a kid been smoking and burst into flames who would have been responsible then? The pilot actually ignored training and regulations! Like the drunk driver killing a pedestrian. The military are responsible and if training made them do it, the training is inadequate, or not fit for purpose. We have 2 instances where an UNIDENTIFIED flying object, one climbing and one heading in a different direction were fired upon. Add in the others and it is becoming all too common.

I have to stop there, because if you do not categorize it as criminal, I presume you say it was legal?

Sounds like you would be better closer to Beach Rd, soi 13/? and 2nd... LK Metro is only a stroll away. Dynasty? -
Both incidents seem extremely similar, the criminal downing of a commercial and harmless aircraft full of innocent people, followed by a pack of lies, then contrite admissions of guilt with a few excuses thrown in. Both shameful and hinting of incompetence and lack of safeguards. Add MH17 to the mix and we can see the world's military appear to be making commercial flying unsafe. If it wasn't for the 737 Max the major cause of airline deaths would be the military, rather than accidents. Trigger happy is the best I can come up with. Two incidents would have been avoided if the USA were not involved, playing away from home.... Many of us Europeans fly over these areas en-route between Thailand and home, and I must admit to a slight trepidation, mellowed by Drambuie, as I could see my aircraft deviating from the usual route.

Apparently in preparation for the expected drought supermarkets are ordering loads of bottled water, last drought the major issue was the shortage of containers. I believe also the guys who manged to obtain water, and had tanker trucks, were bribing the utility to turn off the supplies as their business flourished, We actually had a few spits of rain last night but no benefit.
