  1. Well North and unlikely to top up Mapphrachan.
  2. Today, from a quiet Pattaya.
  3. Yippee rain, well out in my area of Nong Plalai... anywhere else?
  4. Valid from 29:02:20 Valid to 29:05:20
  5. Well at least it explains the occasional sluggish responses this morning.
  6. Back to OP I think I have been buzzed twice in the last 3 or 4 days by a Grab Food M/C delivery guy, I mean taking the hairs off your elbow stuff. They are fast becoming a menace and I for one will never use that service now... I might save a life!
  7. I always used to get tobacco in Bangkok, I don't think there is much difference in the prices , just a factor of usually having more time and less tired. Always had the Thai baht to pay with too so no risk on rip off with currency.
  8. This has become a fairly well known eatery in the Bua Khao area catering to the demographic... , part of the cheap and cheerful group with silly names, along perhaps with Cheap Charlies and The Chunky Monkey (my barfine)...... It is one I have tried a number of times and been quite content by the important factors, food, price and service. I am particularly keen that one can have a beer with dinner (tea to real men from up North) at a reasonable price.. Many Bangkok coffee shops charge more than Baccarat for one! So the place may deserve comment... one comment, I see it is up for sale (bahtsold I believe). Owner wanting to head home for health reasons is openly cited, rent 80,000 p.c.m, established, key money paid (how often is that expected?). I hope it survives in it's present format.
  9. I hear the Thai authorities have reintroduced the ban on burning for the farmers. It doesn't start until March.... not that it will bother them.
  10. How about SpiceJet?? Saying that I once flew Air India from Saudi to Delhi... in Maharaja Class, I was the only customer up front and well taken care of!
  11. There are certainly cases where a transit visa is needed when flying through a country, even if remaining in the airport. (A pal could not board with a Cambodian, heading to NZ from BKK with Oz transit... NZ Visa but no Oz one... a bad place to be.) If one can get a VOA or check your bags through, I expect it would be OK.
  12. The 'demand'' for this has me perplexed. Coincidentally Addis Ababa, along with Abu Dhabi, was 'a place 'I must visit because of interesting names' when I was a kid... did Abu Dhabi!
  13. Well thanks for the information but would it require a transit Visa? What am I thinking, I would more likely avoid Delhi even if only transit with the same carrier.
  14. Fantastic Four.
  15. Bad... a mess. But to be honest I avoid it even on foot.
  16. Yes, very much that is the case. Samui and Phuket seem to be rogues. I think Jomtiem is one of the better ones although their requirement to 'show the money' 3 months after a retirement extension was issued upset a few. Some offices accept mail in and online 90 day reports, some do not. I hear sometimes combination method qualification is rejected here and there, despite it being clearly stated as viable in the Police Orders. Then, add to the mix, sometimes individual IOs who haven't got their head around things also come up with spurious statements.
  17. After the pump... pumps push far better than they pull!
  18. That is cheap, more familiar with closer to 4000 baht. Too many bends near the pump isn't great but I appreciate space is usually the issue with these fittings. I often find teflon taped screw fittings leak for a while then seem to improve, providing enough tape is there. My pump is getting old and I have already sourced exactly the same model, meaning I can unscrew the bolts on the pump inlet and outlet flanges, replace the rubber rings and reuse flanges... ie a drop in. Making up new piping is much too much work.
  19. You are thinking perhaps of Nua or Klang.....
  20. I suspect Airbnb.
  21. Yes I have and am confident all is well.
  22. Not since March 2019...
  23. Well I certainly believe it is easier for me to do my Extension due to that. But they don't really ask for proof I own it, simply something confirming I live there. It is possible I have been there (and here) long term helps too.
  24. Mityon....several locations.
  25. And yet I have read statements that if you return to the same address, it is still not required. As stated, I act dumb, don't do it, and await someone to comment. Have to do a re-entry permit soon, maybe then, if I don't get lazy and leave it until the airport.
