The other end of it is that Biz, with the main carriers, is quite a high standard these days but also a high price to pay. Obviously the market seems to uphold this price. They have made Economy so cheap, and let us be honest, so crap, that anybody older, richer, less physically fit is not keen, or maybe able, to stand up to 12+ hours of it. I don't know how full the expensive front end is these days, I wanted to book Emirates and sit up front on the A380 last year, far too expensive. Now the A380 will stop production in 2 years, that level of comfort will perhaps vanish. I just booked a mid-range flight, not a budget carrier. I booked Economy, Biz would have been 4x the price, and it wasn't especially cheap at the back. That's Thai for you. I hope this 777-X is not as bad as the uncomfortable and noisy 777-200 ER I last flew on.

Well personally won't be sat on a lounger near that end, it usually stinks round there.

Under 300 Baht ... And Good! (updated July 4, 2022)
jacko replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Restaurants and food
Jameson's has some memories for me as in my early days I often stayed at the adjacent Nova Park. Very similar to the Residence Garden, suite type, 2 rooms and the place a bit out of the way! I had some good meals delivered to my room from there, I recall the ribs well. The pub interior was indeed gloomy but the weekend roast carvery often got me in there. Too far off the beaten track to be a contender, walking back down a dark soi SaiSong 4 very late was a little concerning but mostly I was on a M/C taxi being followed by another. A pizza shop next door is a fair fit for the hotel, but I wonder how Jameson's survived. -

Well certainly got that although the bookies would have given good odds on that scoreline!

I think by making the expensive end more expensive!

Firth posted them mate! I did post some pics from there in 2015 This is in a Trip report by the recently departed Barrief, in July 2014. Agree it is overpriced....

There is one day when the price is the same for all, The King's Birthday, it is free.

Well at the moment not my purpose, I only wish to transfer into Thailand.

Yes, if your bank will permit you to do it, some don't. Also Transferwise does not work for transfers out of Thailand.

If I make a booking via Agoda or Expedia they solicit my review, even Google seems to follow me around asking for them. I give good review and bad too. Certainly true someone with an axe to grind is more likely to do it!

If you recently TT'ed some money over from the UK and it lands at SCB this morning, they are going to give you 39.9425 baht/£ Sub 40 for the first time I believe.

Was Teelack there at the time?

Wac, you been saying that since 2008!

Yes still an open result... Chelsea seem to be losing their coordination and are out of it, Spurs have been very good recently, City have shown they are not perfect and Liverpool have dropped points everyone expected them to take. It will be those 6-pointer games that decide it between the top 5, and maybe an odd battle with a side struggling for survival. Man U v Liverpool (24th) interests me. Mourinho made these games dull!

It's the big ticket and occasional items that push the budget up. For me it is the annual company accounts for the house. *The monthly spending money to the partner. Her birthday. Annual medical insurance. Car insurance. The odd trip out of the country, be it back to UK or whatever. Bigger monthly hits are the electric bill, the gardener, the pool service, I have spent 32,000+ baht before I draw out money for myself. A night on WS is 5-7000 without BF! My budget, lucky if I can keep it below 100k / month these days. Used to be easy.

Yes, good point, I was being naive.

Two options, independent retirement extensions or one with your wife piggy backing on yours with no financial requirement. Bank amounts per OP.

I doubt the bank would be aware and it may fall into the idle or dormant account category and be subject to charges until depleted. I might not be surprised if some enterprising bank employee was on the watch-out for these and may cause a different result!

You have to plan ahead, keep 800k all year round, and if you get sick ensure it is in months 4-10, and it doesn't cost more than 400,000 baht, and be ready to replace whatever it does cost.
