  1. I agree. I am not certain about your second sentence.
  2. The DNC just blocked Yang and Williamson dropped out. Iowa in a few weeks and Bernie??? is leading. What has happened to my old party?
  3. That is the best cover story for incompetence from system design, to operator, to general staff.... that I have ever read.
  4. I suspect that when this eruption is over, there won't be another one for a long time. It's a beautiful area of Luzon.
  5. Interesting. I wasn't sure about that. So who supplied the SAMs? Was it the same country that sold or gave it to Russian backed militias when the passenger jet was shot down over Ukraine a few years ago?
  6. And not the first time during heated conflict that a passenger jet has been shot down. The USA shot down an Iranian airliner in 1988. Iran should have known better. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Air_Flight_655
  7. Boeing's fired CEO gets a golden parachute. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/fired-boeing-ceo-muilenburg-will-get-more-than-dollar60-million/ar-BBYQ64w?OCID=ansmsnnews11
  8. Yes but I think it was a horrible mistake and the type of government they are, they have a difficult time dealing with their own incompetence. Image. The Soviets were like than too. Could do no wrong for fear they would lose prestige. Fear of losing control. A precarious position.
  9. I have been seeing conflicting things from Iran. Today they were talking about Boeing getting involved. Then I see they are rushing to clearing the crash site. You have the true believing, ruthless and diabolical leaders of Iran and then you have the bureaucrats. The bureaucrats do the grunt work on instruction but things get delagated down and competency is not prized over loyalty and perhaps piety. Iran had a military unit of some size on the flight path of Iran's major international airport. And they don't know not to shoot a SAM without orders from high above? I see a lot of
  10. Saw the video last night. Quite illimunating. Read USA had issued a warning about flights so why did this airline takeoff? I also read that satelities did pick up heat signatures from two SAM launches at the time. Apparently the technology is as good as I first thought. Also this AM some news article about Iran using bulldozers to clean up the crash site. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10711754/iran-plane-crash-bulldozers-debris-shot-down/
  11. You are correct. A SAM wouldn't be picked up.
  12. To America or Boeing...yet. Typically aircraft manufacturers are involved but Boeing is an American company and Iran has a right to not want us involved...yet. Even our agencies allow manufacturers to be involved but it isn't a requirement. They don't have to. That area is under watch constantly by our satellites and other intelligence assets. If a missile shot a plane down our satellites most likely would pick it up. It is far too soon to rush to a conclusion. There is no proof of that yet. It was a Ukranian airline. No Americans were on board. What would the mot
  13. Spurs are very disappointing this year. Liverpool has been super and consistent all year.

Well, without banks it is likely I could have never been a homeowner. Same for my poorer parents, my son and his wife, my ex-wife, my daughter and her husband, and so many others in my extended family, friends, neighbors and beyond. We just need proper regulations to protect us from fraud. Not one banker went to jail for the banking collapse a decade ago.
  15. Both black boxes have been recovered. Took place during takeoff. Not a "Max". Likely an unfortunate accident.
  16. took me by surprise or for the thumbless
  17. We often don't get experiences matching our expectations. You're right to at least expect to be properly compensated; for more than just coin.
  18. The Crown Olivia Colman won best actress at the Golden Globes last night. I enjoy the series. I have learned a number of things over the seasons.
  19. "Messiah" streaming on Netflix. I liked it. Modern geopolitical overtones. I just started "Dracula". Episode one was very good. Atmospheric. Spooky at times. Reminded me in part of Coppola's film. Not having read the Stoker novel, perhaps this and that film were truer to the original intent. Don't expect a young Frank Langella in the title role. edit: episode 2 of Dracula was long and weired. At times I thought they were lampooning themselves. I will pass on the rest.
  20. are eyeglass prescription numbers universal? Even if not, an eye test to get a new prescription there shouldn't be too expensive. "The optician prescription might seem a bit complicated, but it's actually quite simple! Eyeglass prescriptions may differ in format depending on your optician and country. Though, an eyeglass prescritopn is more or less universal, as opticians worldwide use the same procedures when writing a prescription. Below you will find an example of a common standard prescription. The prescription is divided into right (OD) and left (OS) eye. The next line indicate

  22. Yes, a problem here too that we call losing the locker room. Around the time Dusty Baker was managing the SF Giants, this problem was well known. He was not a great strategist but his players responded to this ex-player and he was the first I heard called a "players" manager.
