  1. Totally agree. There must be a manual option to activate any fire suppressant system.....
  2. Totally agree! When I moved down "from the village" yonks ago I liked their beef stew and cider...... but buggered if I could find a stool that wasn't broken so sat at a wooden table instead. A lot of the places closed in that area because of the "new" rule about bars being near schools.. In my view Bongkot/Arunothai is the future! Nirun bars must be a gnat's knacker from being inside that exclusion zone.. Expanding on bars that did bugger all about uncomfortable chairs ...Cheers on LK Pavillion slowly became derelict because the owner did fuck all about all his broken chairs....Nois at the junction of soi Honey and Buakhao has about 3 chairs that are easy to sit on unless you are 7 feet tall - somebody must have complained because she had them all refurbished last year....... but they are all too high!! Thai management at its best ...(although I do believe that she is Lee's widow so I'll cut her some slack.)..
  3. Very VERY well said mate ......It would be too crude of me to draw comparisons with other Pattaya establishments on your thread! On my walk today they were giving out free food between Friendship and Tukcom....I'm guessing it was around 08:00 am...They seemed quite upset that I didn't take any!!! Perhaps a note for discussion...not far away from the free food stall were the "regular" beggars asking for money for food ...
  4. That first photo looks just like the Aussie bar opposite Nirun......
  5. Excellent. The trees are looking bushier aswell. I'd like to think that one day the wooden benches around the trees will return..If not, at least the return of the small wall running the length of Beach road...
  6. The lane for wide loads ...!!!
  7. By the time bars reopen I'll be able to walk to Bangkok!!!
  8. In truth it isn't the volume that bothers me.It is the vibration from the distorted bass in every Thai music venue that I have "experienced"... .... I did another 1 hour walk today. Tomorrow I plan a 2 hour walk. If all goes well I shall be doing a 3 hour walk around that area next week .... Your photos are giving me some sort of incentive to get out and about again.. and helping me get back in shape ..... If things continue unhindered I may even challenge Keyman to take part in next years Pattaya Marathon...!!
  9. Unfortunate on so many levels.. - An Engineer lost his job - Yup garage has to be cleaned up - The plane has to go through thorough investigation especially the landing gear for any corrosion - I for one would not like to be on that plane when it goes through severe temperature changes during a long haul flight just in case a miniscule amount of damage is not found now and is missed by routine maintenance checks in the future ... But fortunately for me I stopped using any airline that uses T4 or T5 ....
  10. Why fly?....get your ass down to the West Country for an Oggy and a pint of cider ....job done.. Note to all Aussies: It is "oggy oggy oggy" not "Aussie Aussie Aussie" ...
  11. The other side is "not China". China is the most Binary Nation I can think of either you are or you aren't...but whilst the West is happilly killing Muslims for their oil so that their next few generations of the priviledged can live well , China is investing in Africa's "bread basket of the world" so that hundreds of years from now China will be the main force on this planet when the need for oil is obsolete and the need for food is paramount... I am quite saddenned how future generations will judge us..
  12. I wish that I could "double green" that comment!!!
  13. There has been a few days of short heavy downfalls and a couple of days of sustained drizzle ....None of which I expect to increase reservoir levels but may help reduce consumption....
  14. Thank you! The perspective in the photo of the man cleaning the drain and the man watching is fascinating....Thanks again!!
  15. A lauditory post indeed... Tedium Laudamus ...!!!! ..... I used to be a choirboy BTW!!
  16. Next time you go in grab me a handful and give it to me later !!
  17. I want one ... the t-shirt not a fisting...!!!
  18. Stop Boulean me ...!!! I used to love reducing a complex boulean expression. Not!!!
  19. Wow so much in there to comment on.. I was in Cochem in 1984 and Rudesheim ...bloody excellent guzzling whites in the region. For reds when I was in Munster I found a couple of Hungarian wines that I liked.. As for Gewurtzraminer, I discovered it in the local CO-OP in Dorset!! Was a lovely hot day and my Mum fancied sitting out on the lawn for a nice summer salad so off I popped into the co-op and it was the only wine left in the fridge at 7 quid a bottle. I only bought one but after I sipped it I drove back and emptied the fridge!! Here in Pattaya , Wine Connection in RGP has an excellent bottle for 1,000 baht..go there for lunch special pizza and you won't regret it.. I worked in Argentina for 6 months and I'll be fucked if I could find a Malbec that I liked despite the locals getting me to try their favourites! The best red I have tasted in Pattaya was in Bite Me Bistro and was a Barolo Reserva (3,000 a bottle I think) absolutely stunning red wine. Me and Peter tried the "normal Barolo" but it wasn't a patch on the reserva ,,, so I bought the last bottle and quaffed it down and ended up dancing Isaan mo lam .... it is on video somewhere !!!
  20. Sustained heavy rain over on the Darkside now..
  21. Perhaps he couldn't differentiate between the two ....
  22. Wouldn't that be only one location though....???
  23. It was a spoof ..... HAHAHAHA!
  24. When I went to 7/11 this morning (sukumvit+damsamakee) they were taking a delivery of water......So if a business that "should" have a backup tank and on the main route has run out of water it doesn't bode well for those without a tank and living off the main supply route...... EDIT = I've just done a "tap tap test" on my 2,000 litre tank and it sounds full. I also keep 3 days worth in my tank in the bog ....Hopefully I'll be OK..!!
