  1. For me EVA PE was good when I could afford an overnight hotel on arrival but now I go straight to my destination by National Express I want to arrive at T3 only and before 1500hrs. I always found the service and "chattability" of crew very good... and the G&Ts to be the best of any airline...
  2. If it was 8am I'd be up for it but strange things happen when it gets dark in Pattaya and I get scared easily.. Happy Birthday ! and I hope everything goes very well for you tomorrow night!!
  3. I had problems flying via Amsterdam but my flights were into Southampton not Manchester and it was several years ago. This is only a friendly warning to check in advance. 1. I flew with my Thai wife into Amsterdam with the bags checked all the way through to Souhampton but when we landed we had to go from international through passport control to regional.....but my wife didn't have a Shengen visa!! Oh shit!! After loads of fucking about (including the threat to just turn us around) An immigration officer took us through and walked us to the Departure gate to Southampton.. 2.
  4. Thank fuck for that - I haven't got any hair ....
  5. What bar does Rex use???? .....I'm a little worried it might be me......in the past of course..
  6. He used to try and get inside the knickers of the owner of "The Bitch Bar" on Soi Khopai but that has now closed down and she has since moved to Rayong.... I think the chap is German, pleasant enough and his legs are paralysed so if you are looking at pinching his ATV and crutches you'd probably be able to take the handbrake off and push it away........
  7. Hahaha - That is very strange because it wasn't there when I went to Tesco ...Tues/Weds..??? We shall have to keep a keen eye out for it...!!!
  8. Hahaha we are both correct in a way....please see my EDIT....
  9. Funnily enough whilst you were typing that reply I went on to AA route Planner to check my facts. The shortest route was cross country after Newbury and came in at 77 miles but the route that took the M4 and came off at Chippenham was 101 miles ... After seeing your reply I can only conclude that the rules have changed and/or it may have been whilst I was in Africa ...I really am unsure how or why it happened but it surely did...........Or I could have made the whole thing up just to make a fool of myself yet again...!! EDIT = I have just checked the link you attached
  10. I know that it was 100 miles at that time because they refused it for me. I did an RAC/AA Route planner and most routes were 98 miles or so. When I pointed this out to them they said that the local taxi firm would decide when I landed.........Fuck that for a game of soldiers paying up front then arguing with a taxi driver over the route he was gonna take..
  11. A couple of years ago Emirates business class included free taxi under 100 miles as part of the deal.... I can't find any reference to it on their website ...Is it part of your deal..???
  12. I may or may not be correct but when I was intending to fly back this year it appeared that Qatar allowed you to book a seat in advance for free but Brexit exchange rate put the kybosh on those plans so I stopped investigating...
  13. There is a bloke I've seen cycling around soi Buakhao with a coconut tree on the back of his bike...When the tree gets too big he replaces it with a new coconut plant ......I absolutely love sitting in quiet bars during the day watching the weird go by !!!!!
  14. Things may have changed there but I went in 3 times, on different days of the week, each time before 12 Noon. to grab a takeaway and was told "Chef too busy. Only breakfast" ...Oddly 2 weeks ago I was having the "Scottish breakfast" in there and somebody was having the kebab special at 09:30 but I suspect he was a regular because it was brought to him without him ordering....Strange...
  15. The last time I really enjoyed flying BA was in the early '90s Biz class when I flew regularly LHR to Beijing for 2 years. Upper deck, non smoking, brilliant food, wine and service when the trolley dollies had time (and were allowed) to have a laugh and a chat... My last, final, never again flight was about 2 years ago . I had paid 25 quid for a prebooked seat (centre aisle). I did a final confirmation before leaving home and pretty much dawdled along knowing that everything was gonna be OK....Until I was ushered to the self check in machines !!! ... "but I have a prebooked seat!!!"
  16. Well spotted Sir! I walked up passed there this morning on t'other side of the road....bugger me , the signs have changed to "Jomtien Hospital" just as you say... I shall go inside in the next few weeks...
  17. Thanks for the heads up on EVA....The prices do seem cheaper ..... November 5th might have added significance this year...!!!! EDIT = KLM are coming in cheapest for my dates at the moment though...
  18. Yes it is mate ....My state pension kicks in just as my Health Insurance starts to ramp up too so all is OK here with me nowadays as long as Nightwish etc don't influence the prices on soi Honey and "the poon" like they did on soi 6 that is...
  19. Ooooh...I hadn't noticed....After checking my tea bags it looks like I haven't been passed it for a Month (On my way to Siamsburi's - hahaha).... I shall have to pop in to see if they take my Health Insurance then as all my neighbours know to take me there if owt bad happens to me.. Thank you very very much for the heads up - it could be important information..!!
  20. I thought I should mention that there is building work going on at the back of the clinic. Looks like it could be an actual hospital under construction..... Also a new clinic near the Pattaya Tai baht bus start point (on the slip road to Big C)should be openning soon.....
  21. I have just checked Loungebuddy for my sons and LHR lounges are now nearer 40 quid than the 25 quid I mentioned in my earlier reply - I'd have to drink ALOT of wine to pay that much...!!!!
  22. This is something that I had never really thought about. Let's take my 2 extremes.. Upper limit: In the '90s for 2 years I never went below 16,000 quid a month (pure profit, no overheads). My best month was 32,000 quid. Let's use 84 baht to the pound = 2,688,000 Baht a Month. 1,000 all night. 0.037%. Multiple girls most nights. Lower limit (today): Currently living off my Army pension of 600 quid a Month at 37 baht to the pound = 22,200 Baht a Month. 3,000 all night. 13.5%. Never Again!!!! Frightening difference really....I wish I hadn't done that calculation now....
  23. Far East Rock and Nevada are a couple that open at 1pm on Soi Post Office.....Can't comment on the quality or prices inside though...
