I have bought good roasting spuds at the market on soi kopai 4 and at the Naklua fish market.

That is a shocking markup.. Inexcusable in my opinion..

The most abnormal has to be Myanmar. They changed after independence but almost all cars remain right hand drive. If a "beginner" goes there he will think under-cooked crunchy cold rice and tasteless food is normal...keep away from the place. My advice is to order a fried egg with your food as it calms down the spiciness..... my preference is a runny egg ( kai dow mai sook) but I know from previous threads that some on here don't like the idea of a runny egg so just ask for kai dow...

I walked passed there around 10am yesterday, saw the collection box but the place was empty so walked round to Witherspoons for a draught Leffe Brun and bought poppies there...

The area that I live in is predominantly BGs / motor cy / rose sellers/ "security" people and each family seemed to be having a party last night... Interestingly the " cashiers" that normally leave for soi 6 at 1pm haven't surfaced yet....

There are normally a couple of places serving beer on days like this.........

... and at 1030am the local Family Mart served me with 4 x cans of cheers extra..... EDIT = There were signs in Thai and English saying no alcohol on sale today.......next to the standard 11 till 2 sign..

Thanks for the warning.... Luckily I have 2 x 2ltre bottles of mont claire stashed away .. If I run out the local Family Mart normally serve me...... but others might not be as lucky as me.....

I guess in retrospect this will be a dream flight if you are going THAI next time......... if they are still operating.... EVA and BA suit my timings and I normally fly premium economy .... but BA have pissed me off too many times by closing the bar ...
