I know exactly the problem youre having. It doesnt matter how many times you try to install flash after firefox has thrown an error.....it just refuses to acknowledge that you have installed it!!!!! Strangely it doesnt apply to every flash web site (only certain ones).....computers dont ya luv em!!!!!!

If you want to do it yourself then you have to run the footage into your computer in order to digitise it into a dvd file. OK now you need to realise that a vhs is an analogue signal and needs converted. How you do this is up to you. There are various "dazzle" type boxes that connect to your computer and transfer the signal from the vhs player into an "mpeg" file into your computer. Once in your computer you can use a "dvd authoring" (e.g. nero,win movie maker, ulead workshop or the "daddy" adobe encore) software to encode a dvd. This has the benefit of having chapter points etc so you can skip to different points instantly. So your main problem is to get an analogue capture device. Bear in mind that DVD's actually only have a lifespan of 10years max so you may want to hang onto those VHS tapes just in case (or re-copy your DVD after 5-6years) 1 other way to do the above is to get a DVD recorder machine and run the signal straight from your vhs player into it and press record (wont have menus etc but is a less technical no-brainer) Oh and if you have a camcorder with video input and output (as well as firewire) then that will convert too. (pirates used to do this system to bypass the old macro/flashing protection on tapes a while back)

Unfortunately the whole of pattaya is a bug trap. Most of the time its an ant problem rather than roaches and the only thing that works is to be relentless in spraying. After a few weeks they are all gone (or have just moved to somewhere that aint sprayed. As the above said it seems like the room has been empty and aint been sprayed for a while.

climax band/ bar has long gone now from walking st although i believe they are now in the "dj" bar just behind we are the world/centerpoint 7/8. re:lucifers: the band at the front section of lucifers does normal pop/rock stuff whilst the disco rear section is indeed american hiphop/rap. They are still a bonafide band tho and the OP didnt specify the music style!

Another point is that tycoon will store your accumulated items free of charge providing you re-book within 12months. So you can buy your kettle, motorbike helmet etc etc and just store them!

Ok you have lots of free disk space. Make sure windows is automatically controlling virtual memory (i.e there is not a manual amount typed in) still defrag your drive to make sure your free space is not dotted around like a teabag. Ctrl Alt Delete will bring up your task manager which will show your cpu usage and list of all your programs running. Shut down some of the ones using the most memory allocation. Check to see if anything is accessing your internet connection even thou you have no visible programs being used. i.e simply look at your modem send/receive lights. Tis will check to see if there is some hidden spyware etc running in the background. If that fails then you may have some virus and the best way would be to scrub your hard disk clean and reinstall windows (this should be done at a last resort and even try to roll-back to an old saved configuration first) out of curiosity you havent changed your operating system from the original that you bought it with. i.e remember vista needs minimum 1gb RAM and even that is stretching things!

I agree, it sounds like a virtual memory problem and there simply aint enough free hard disk space for windows to run a cache. Check your disk space available (c: drive where windows is installed) Once youve freed up enough space then do the disk defrag (use "diskkeeper" prog and not windows standard)

My mate just emailed me to book a room for him in tycoon. Apparently they never answer emails at all and its difficult to get booked up (hence getting me to go in direct). He has stayed there several times before and swears by it. He normally tries to get the corner room as its more spacious with the extra window. Make no mistake tho the standard rooms are tiny. I would hate to do a few months stay in that size. 1 good point is that they have introduced a secure keycard system to access the lift/all floors. So i guess this will keep undesirables from wandering in unchallenged. The soi itself is a bit hit and miss and looks like an alcoholics dream in the small thai shop across the road.(drunks 24/7...staring into their large Leo). The swimming pool is very small and being circular, its impossible to do any sort of swimming exercise. Having said that,location is reasonable and it is cheap....ish. An alternative could be the new tony's fitness joint (across from his old tennis joint). he has brand new rooms,nice furniture etc facing inwards (no noise) and youo get free tony membership during your stay. I believe they start at 9000baht+elec. (if 2person stayed and used gym everyday it would save you (220bt x 2per) x 31 days = 13,640baht). Just a thought!

To say they are hindering Tourists cannot be done(see above) however you may have some sites restricted. TOT (the actual telephone company albeit state owned) did, until recently block you tube etc. Before it was politically motivated as someone posted a critical Thai video, however that was sorted out and now they just ban because they say its eating up the TOT bandwidth! FAO they unblocked you tube last month.

Whilst doing my usual crawl around funtown, i had a great time last night in Coyotees! This has always been a good joint in the past but now it gets better with a Happy Hour starting at 1am! Thats correct 1am. Never seen a happy hour start then, but i like it! Most drinks are 60baht and the shows are still entertaining as is the music. The owner must have installed a myriad of laser machines as it looked like the beijing olympics opening ceremony last night.....excellent! Oh and the girls are lookers too! Its a good combination and i thought id share my findings to the board. (i.e i have no affiliation to the bar nor do i know or ever spoken to any managers/owners etc).....im just a guy out for a beer!!!! vid

1 question about TQ2: A while back they served their draught beer in really nice english style half pint glasses (quite large) but last week they were using those stupid tiny glasses (famously used by peppermint agogo draught beer)!!! What happened????????

I tried to start a post a while back, wanting to list as many ST joints as we could. The upshot was a very very empty post. The 100baht place all the girls talk about is PS house in soi yamoto.......and to say its a dive is an understatement. You really do get what you pay for. Out of interest i see that the swiss house in soi diamond are now advertising st rooms at 300baht. vid

3 years ago i got nabbed by emirates for having a return ticket dated well past my visa. i explained about going to singapore etc but they had a major debate about letting me fly. Eventually some supervisor got me to sign about 3 disclaimers and let me board.....so nothing is impossible!!!

Some new place down past Rayong (maybe 30mins past) opened now for the dolphin swimming experience! Before you rush and book tho, here is 1 incident that came to light a few weeks ago. A female falang friend of mine (who has had a stroke a few years back) had a booking with this place . Everything was explained to the agent who did the booking and it was supposidly OK. Whilst my friend has limited use of one side of her body, she can easily swim 30 lengths in the pool every day (so she is a competent swimmer). It had been her dream to swim with the dolphins as she knew they are used in therapy in the states. When she arrived at the centre she was immediately turned away by the manager. He kept saying "no good" & "cannot". No amount of talking would change his mind. ....But wait......here's the punchline........ He pointed to his large board of rules and went down to the one titled: "NO DEFORMED PEOPLE" Angry is an understatement!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking at this place from beach rd, it seems they have 2 buildings. 1 large block at the rear and a new smaller block which is sits 90degrees from the beach front. The front block looks newer and superior view i guess..so this would be the one to go for. The actual front of hotel is taken up by their restuarant (which looks nice but is usual over-priced thai cuisine)

Never stayed but they are a fair distance from walking st. (being situated up the pratumnak hill soi 4 area). They also have a few annexes i.e argyle 1,2,3 etc (all around the same area).

Most of the dive shops in patts have a second hand department....failing that you could always put a free ad at the carrefour notice boards!
