May have changed since my one and only time there But why I never returned: way overpriced whacked out guns nasty home brewed ammo overbearing limitations on usage dangerous and stupid range staff (you trombone a 12g pump BEHIND me as I'm at the firing booth, be thankful I'm empty Somchai)

^^^^ This Plus its the reason God gave us dual SIM phones, so as to have 'home' and 'away' SIMs always on so no loss of banking notices O.T.P's etc -
That's NOT the Visa, its the Departure Card portion of the TM6 you filled in and presented when you arrived. Visas are stuck or stamped into the pages of your passport

?? It's a bit more than a trifling 'fiddle' What happens is any time a low-value sale is done the pump is left running at say 50 baht, if the next punter is a 'fill her up' then he starts dry at 50 baht already showing on the pump. The surplus cash is syphoned off by the forecourt workers day in day out, it was I think 20+ years ago when I was first warned about them. Got to have added up to a fine old lump of cash by now Same scam used to happen in the UK back when youngsters pumped the fuel for you, worst that would happen back then was after a succession of complaints from the p

Thai 'management' seems in my experience to have a unique slant on this When I confronted the manager of a well known near Jomtien supermarket about a particular cashier who it seemed always dipped a 100 out of the change from a 1000 This she did in the blatant knowledge that we both knew she was doing it and that she would always be challenged and she always rectified it with a nonchalant shrug. The manager was very 'head-scratchy' and mai kow jai, about it saying 'it is impossible for her to steal from me (as in him the manager)' he just refused to acknowledge that she routinely steals

TBH You only have to understand what gets these people the ratings they so crave. And it isn't achieved by following the lifestyle of Gerald and Daphne who resettled in Thailand to make a small living, breeding budgerigars and helping local orphans Its achieved by salaciousness and quasi-titillation. The barometer would be how many Johnny Wagepakets slurp their elevenses while exclaiming 'Did you see that cooont on telly last night pissed as a fart 24/7 with his twelve-year-old Thai wife...the barstard. Get on it next week more brasses than a Cleckheaton Shire horse convention

Exactomundo If the relevant embassies are throwing their hands in the air at their inability to verify, how do you expect immigration to bottom it out? Its akin to the revolving door of "everyone must have insurance" who in this instance will have the expertise to qualify who has qualifying insurance? A Swampy brown shirt with his rubber stamp and more medals than Idi Amin? That would be interesting

NEVER keep the serious money in an account with a card associated Thai accounts, open two online accounts, one with plastic the other none The non-plastic account harbours the cash & little stays in the card bearing account. Need a lump of cash flip out the mobile transfer the required to the 'ATM' account, step forward to the machine and withdraw it Hard for some bank employed 'Dick Turpin' to bullshit away a spurious withdrawal when it needs a personal appearance with book and passport to acheive

I found Insure & Go way cheaper than Staysure re the pre existings (In fact to be honest Staysure prices were a complete piss take) Give Insure & Go a call and run through it with them, nothing ventured as they say

66 yo seems to have big magic with them I use Insure and go 'Black' (their highest level) and was going to give them the thumbs up but...... multi x 90 day trips etc etc etc till you come to the closing brackets Problem you have is its a small matter in the T's & C's that makes easy comparison impossible Ive had the same drama when you want to see the cover using motor cycles Edit Revisiting the one I found for better motorcycle cover (which I never pursued in the end) I see they are OK up to age 74yo and good for multi trips at 60 days per trip if you opt f

Telling who gave you the £195 quote might narrow the field

LOL So scouring my historical post and you come up with this as an example of me emulating the disjointed responses to the OP of this thread Seriously in that instance hardly a genuine question asked - just an invitation for derision
