Gotta agree with most of the comments here. Bobs was only "ok" at best.... with the Mexican menu being horrible. Mikes Mexican is going to be a hard act to follow - their food is awesome, and made with fresh ingredients. I will come try tho... always willing to re-evaluate. Well... if you want to know what the OFFICIAL dates are, someone here can tell you. If you want to know the actual dates... nobody here can tell you. At some point usually within a few days of the official start date for BANGKOK Songkran (Bangkok Songkran is a week before Pattaya officially), some drunk asshat decides to squirt some other assclown somewhere on Soi 7 or 8 at about midnight or so, and poof - the whole fucking town explodes in a waterfight. To be fair, 4 years ago (my first Songkran here), it started at midnight on the official start date in Bangkok. For the last 3 years it has started early in some places, but most still start the day of..... but you may well get soaked at any hour of any day from 3 days before Songkran up until the last day. The first day it starts and the last day are the worst, with water play on all soi's off 2nd and Beach roads wet pretty much 24/7. For the week or so between the first and last day, water starts around 10am or so, and finishes by about 10pm in most places. It is supposed to finish at 7pm, but that NEVER happens. Some places will stop, but most will not (at the encouragement of drunk falangs usually). Come planning on getting wet and not being able to avoid it... Some people love it, others hate it. I am in the middle - I LOVE it when I want to play - but friggin hate it when I go home after a day of play and try to sneak to Walking Street in dry clothes only to be soaked by some drunk bastard with no sense of fair play. (aka asshat) :) Now, the official dates for 2011 are the 13th thru the 15th. Most of THailand will restrict themselves to those dates. PATTAYA IS AN EXCEPTION. Pattaya officially starts on the 17th and goes thru the 19th, but it WILL start sometime between the 11th-13th and continue thru the 19th. The good news.... On April 20, 2011 most of the streets will be clean enough to walk barefoot (just for you villa!)

I don't think there are any that close to pattaya. 2 hours including the trip out and back, plus 9 holes? Not going to happen. Siam Country Club and Siam Plantation are likely the closest. Taxi will take 30 minutes or so to get there.. Motorbike about the same. Phoenix isn't too far south - probably 45 minutes. Neither of those hotels are really good for a first timer, I think. Secrets has stairs you have to climb (a pain when drunk) and penthouse rooms are filthy (but naughty!) Try Dynasty Inn or Pattaya Bay Resort. Both good places for newbies, good security, food, pool, in room safe, etc. If you want very good rooms (suite, not regular hotel), try Residence Garden.

Oh you can bet that luck was with you that day. I had decided just by coin flip to start the photos on the other 9 that day... so I was at the other "first" hole. If i'd been at your tee it would be plastered all over here and facebook already btw, hope your feeling better.

The latest thing I tried was something called psuedoephedrine sulphate - at 500 baht for 10 pills. The last 2 (actifed and something else) did not work. Friggin crazy. Its only for a couple months of the year... but i dont remember it being this bad last year. Tho that might have something to do with just running out of meds lol. Frosty

I have seasonal allergies, and they are kicking my ass something fierce. I need someone thats coming over soon to bring me a huge bottle of Benadryl, if possible. Or even the walmart generic version. They come in bottles of 100 25mg caplets... One would be good, 2 would be better (understand if you dont want to carry 2 tho). If anyone is coming soon and doesn't mind, PLEASE let me know. Will reimburse you and buy ya several drinks for your trouble. You will be saving my life! (or at least easing it considerably). And before anyone asks, no you can not get it here, and the last 3 brands I have bought here are having no effect whatsoever. Been on the latest one (spendy bugger at 500 baht for 10 days) for 3 days now, and just spent the last 3 hours sneezing my ass off. Benadryl puts me to sleep, but at least it works. I can even order them online and send them to you, if theres time - but they are not expensive - less than $10 for the bottle of 100 if I remember right... but willing to pay whatever they are now. Just remember... You get what you pay for. 500b is not all that much for a good thanksgiving dinner. Some places charge 1000 or more. Never had the one at Tigglebitties, but if their other food is an indicator, it should be WELL worth the extra 200 baht, imho.

I just deposited a dozen DVDs of the Babydolls and FLB golf events with the lovely cashiers at FLB bar. If anyone who attended either event wants one they are there to be picked up free of charge. Last year I charged 100 baht which funded the DVDs....and since I have plenty left from last year they are free this year. If they run out I will have more there the next night or can deliver to FLB or Babydolls on demand. Was a great year and for many good photos. Frosty

Hay all, As some of you long time members may remember, I made about 18 videos of the band a couple years ago and put them on Youtube. They are still there, but the band has gotten much better with age. I was unable to post new videos however as the video and audio editing software I use did not work with Windows 7... That has been fixed, and I will be processing my stock of old video over the next couple weeks to add to the collection. I will also be taking new video later this month in true HD with the help of Barrief (and his new low light pro camera =P), and will be posting them later in the month as well. For now, here is one I just created out of stock thats probably more than a year old... but still good :) Enjoy!
