  1. A proxy IP is not flagged as a Static IP, unless its a privately owned and operated proxy on a private server. Public proxy companies embed special headers in Proxy packets that identify the proxy service and provide methods for tracking the originator if requested by law enforcement. Again, mandated by law in most countries. On top of that it is very rare for a Proxy IP address to be Static. Most use a a wide range of IPs, and some even change IPs on every request... The expensive ones do anyway. There is the odd rare "free" proxy service that will pop up on the net that does not follow standards for proxy services, and I suppose one of them might just have a static IP... but that static IP won't be listed as belonging to a residential customer in the middle of suburban Sidney. It would be registered to the company that owns the proxy, or at a minimum to the ISP used by the company that owns the proxy. Internet crime has prompted many new laws and regulations in the last 10 years, most of which have to do with tracking and logging. ISPs in most countries are required by law to keep logs of all users activity for a 90 day window at a minimum, and some countries up to 5 years. No ISP will give out a IP address, static or otherwise, without being able to audit that IP on request and tell exactly who used it and for what when requested by law enforcement. On top of that, most ISPs are profit hungry... and willingly sell "anonymous" statistics to geolocation services, such as the registered addresses of all static IP addresses. Some ISPs even give that info away for free, but in ALL cases that info is available in most countries, including Oz. So to answer your question directly, there is no way that this IP address is a proxy. The odds of that are higher than winning powerball. On top of that, I seriously doubt piggy knows what a proxy is, much less how to use one. He has posted from the same IP address the whole time he's been posting on Ptalk. But then... I wouldnt expect anyone on a linux box to understand
  2. You forgot to mention the TYPE of IP address it is. There are many different types of IP allocation out there.. the most common is called Dynamic. This means that while you may well have the same IP address for long stretches of time, it is not guaranteed to you - you may log in one day and it will have changed, usually after resetting your modem/router. Some ISPs even force IP changes on a regular basis - like AOL. Even their broadband users get new IP addresses daily. The least common, at least for residential internet (but most common for business) is called a Static IP. Not only do static IP addresses not change owners, but most ISPs around the world are obligated to divulge the physical address of the person to whom a Static IP is granted. Not all countries enforce this... not sure of Oz is one of those or not, but what I DO know is that Mr. Piggy is posting, and has ALWAYS posted, from the same STATIC ip address, and that IP address is leased to a person in Sydney. Geolocation can be a bit off, so I wouldn't put money on the house in the photo being his - its possible that geolocation is off by several hundred feet... but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to find that it was spot on and one of the houses pictured is his. Especially when he tried to ignore this thread after that was posted, posting on many others after reading this thread, but not posting here until he was poked in to it by comments in other threads Oh, and for the record Mr. Piggy, LD may not be an expert in IT..... but I am. IP Addresses (well, static ones) do not lie. You got caught. Just admit it... Or, as you said, MAN UP. Now everybody on here knows your full of shit. The least you can do is own up.
  3. LOL Busted. Too bad you can't see mom's minivan in the driveway...
  4. Yes, actually. Norton is one of the heaviest AV systems on the market. By heavy I mean it uses a much larger portion of your systems resources to do what it does, and its updates are not very timely. They have gotten better over the last few years, but still not great. On top of that, Norton does not detect or remove most Adware or tracking cookies - thats just not what it was designed to do. It hunts VIRUSES... not adware/spyware/cookies. I guess I should have been clearer earlier... You do not just want a AV system... you do want one, but you also want a spyware removal tool of some kind. In my experience Spybot S&D is the best of the spyware removers out there by a large margin, but there are other options. Each "brand" has advantages and disadvantages when it comes to AV... Norton is at the bottom of the list IMHO. It does way too much to slow down a users system for me to recommend it.
  5. Lol. NO WAY whoever was writing that was a thai girl. Its a falang trying to write like he thinks a Thai girl would write. The grammer and structure are way too fucked up lol.
  6. You know, you should talk to Bush-Pig. You 2 have a lot in common. Maybe the 2 of you can move to Kentucky and have babies or something.
  7. True joe... but thats why I said "free" sites. Its not just porn and torrents... but "free MP3s" or just about anything else "free" is suspect. Hell, even links directly from reputable websites are not even safe. There are millions of virus-infected websites around the net, and not even all of them are intentional. Some legitimate websites are infected as well. Even the FLBBar website was infected by one of its components a couple years ago - The gallery software as I recall. MM updated to the latest version of the gallery application and it was infected (not a cracked or torrented version either).
  8. No idea mate. It may well do, but like you I never got out until afternoon... so I dont know for sure. Be prepared for a long trip from Naklua to center pattaya tho... better prepared then annoyed :) btw, I will be at Cherry Bar on the 19th... 18th ill be on Soi 6, and 17th am going to Ban Chang for their one day songkran. :)
  9. I hired one about 3 years ago on the beach for 2500 all day. 8000 is crazy... no way I would pay that for a speedboat.
  10. Preaching to the wrong crowd miss Jaa. Most people here wont pay 2k for a LT.. much less more for a ST. Your rates are fucking crazy.
  11. Its pretty obvious that most people posting suggestions here have not been here for Songkran. Sukhumvit, as well as ALL roads in to pattaya, will be gridlocked with traffic moving slower than those walking on the side of the road on the 18th and 19th - moreso on the 19th. Sukhumvit is gridlock from the second road in to Naklua (I forget its name) until around Soi 87 (opposite Makro shopping center - other side of Jomtien). Not sure about the 18th, but on the 19th the regular bus service did not run last year. No big busses came down sukhumvit at all - so even the Rayong-bkk line must have taken an alternate route around pattaya. I was on sukhumvit for 2.5 hours last year on the 19th and saw no busses at all, and even on the motorbike I could not move much faster than those walking. Of course those few hours may have been the worst of the worst... but there you are. If I were you Jamie I would hire a taxi if nothing else to get you to Naklua.. there is a hotel there on Sukhiumvit just on the outskirts of it that you can stay for 2 nights, then you can motocy taxi it to pattaya... but not with your bags. You CAN get a taxi to go to DD... but from Naklua to DD will take 2+ hours most likely, and the best route would be Suk to Pattaya Klang, then 3rd road to Soi XZyte, then down to DD from there.
  12. Avast is likely the best FREE AV/AM software out there, but if you do a lot of hard core surfing, I recommend BitDefender. Of the paid AV/IS systems out there, I have found it to be the best mix between resource usage and ability to detect/fix new issues quickly. And at $39/year for 3 computers its not too expensive.
  13. Never been much of a Porn person... much rather go get the real thing... and I live in the Porn capital of the world, and have plenty of money. No need for porn :) As to downloads... I do have my sources of programs, but none come from websites, and I know how to verify files before they ever reach my computer. I do not use Torrents (except on a very very rare occasion), and stay away from any website that offers cracked software (or anything free for that matter). I am a software developer... I know exactly how viruses and adware work, and how to avoid them. Many people do not.... at no fault of their own. Not everyone can be a computer geek :)
  14. I set it to run once a week at like 4am. If you browse the internet all day, or visit suspect sites (like Porn or "free" download sites), then run it nightly.
  15. Thats one of my favorite free softwares... The guy that wrote it is a german kid (well, was when he wrote it years ago), and hates spyware. its not a "virus" remover per se... but what you had was not a virus. It was "Scareware"... linked in there with Adware. System restore always works, but is buggy as hell sometimes.. gotta be careful doing a system restore. Glad it worked tho!
  16. Try Spybot Search and Destroy... not sure which virus you have, but it finds most of them, and is free. Get it here: http://security.kolla.de
  17. Finally an answer that makes sense!
  18. How much is the electric billed at? Still tho... I think too much for an apartment, especially if your raped on the electric at 8b like most places in town.
  19. I never noticed the salt to be honest... if there was any, it was only a very very small amount, and I ordered a side of chips with every order (I like using the beans for bean dip =P) It has been a long while since I was at tequila reef... Will give it another go in the next few days. I love mexican food... I do hope they are better then I remember.
  20. Tequila Reef has nothing on the quality or portions at Mikes. Not sure what you ordered... likely an appetizer. I'm a fairly good size bloke and I can never finish my meals there - always leave stuffed. It is a bit spendy compared to some places, but well worth it IMHO. TR on Soi 7 does not taste near as good, tho their sloppy nachos are better... I think thats the only thing better IMHO.+
  21. True - I can have a night out here for less then 1k baht sometimes - usually when I go to the Cherry Bar and end up staying there all night lol. Walking street on the other hand... There are a number of bars that I can't walk in and get sat down before I have 5 drinks on my bin lol. Oh well
  22. When I budgeted my trip I would do it like this: Pay for hotel/plane on my credit card in advance (I always stayed at the same place), so that was paid up. Budget 10k per day for all but 3 days of the trip Budget 15k per day for those 3 days I usually had money left over at the end of the trip... but not always. I would sometimes get 2 STs in a day, then take 2 (and once 3) ladies LT at night. Money goes fast here... Heck, I STILL spend 10k on a good (or bad) night out, tho its uncommon now that I live here.
  23. This in Thailand or USA? Cause if its in Thailand, and your using Thai purchased CDs... that might be your issue. The fail rate of Thai CDs is pretty high... I lose one in 4 usually. With a good USA brand I get a 100% success rate. If thats not the case, your drive could be dirty. You said its a laptop... then when you open the drive you should see the laser head in the tray. Use a can of air to blow it (gently!) clean. If you see anything on it, you can use a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol to clean it, but GENTLY - do not scratch it, then blow it dry with the canned air. Only do that if it looks dirty tho... any time you touch the laser head you risk throwing it out of alignment.
  24. We have had a couple cold days this week, but not too bad. If you are used to cold weather then come as usual. If not, bring a sweater or buy one here if you need one. You shouldnt tho... in the day time its fine (just cool), but at night if you ride a motorbike (especially out of town) it can get downright cold. That said, today was hot as usual so the weird weather might be over. 10k a day is plenty for a good holiday. Enough to buy things, have a shorttime, eat well and a long time every night (even paying LDOP prices).
  25. Your right. You are not worthy. You are not worthy of the shit I flush down the bog every morning. Looks like you might just be learning... tho I kinda doubt that. Your too stupid to learn simple things. :D
