  1. whats happend to me a couple of times is i go to reception ask for a room and they quote the price for the most exspencive room after looking through the computer or book but its always more than i want to pay,so as i go to leave suddenly oh yea we have a room for you,TIT
  2. i know its not the same but ihave a vaio desktop 2 years old and it works perfectly it was more expensive than others for the same spec but i went for the reliability and so far ive got that
  3. bigmike,i used the laundry its great exept i put it in the morning before i left and and when i went to pick it up the next day she had just put it in the machine and hat to take it out again so i had a damp mix of underwear and and shirts it was a bit smelly and guess who had to get pulled by customs at schiphol i let him have a good rummage before he tolled me to fuckoff ;D ;D ;D
  4. if people say the rooms in dynasty are small and dark you better believe them.stay in sandy spring hotel its great ,and then walk the few metrs to dynasty and check out the rooms there.bet you stay in sandy spring, when you bring a girl back to sandy she has to fill in a small form name id# etc,and it says in english and thai,is that guests can not use the swimming pool or hotel facilities ,but i seems as long as you behave they do not enforce the rules ,ive booked again for january, see you then ps get a room with a sea view or better still if moneys no problem get a suite
  5. i have flown eva, china, klm, economy to bkk they are the only direct flights from amsterdam china is the best its economy but the treat you ok .eva and klm treat you like a second class citizen klm is a little bit better than eva just and eva gets in about half4 in the morning my first choice would be china, not having hillys charm or money ;D ;D ;D i have to fly cattle class mike
  6. its right about the haven i was not advising to stay there, but its like a golf club house.no problem with that if you play golf i dont, the room i had was smelly and a bit grotty so i did move to sandy spring just after it opend and its great. but you will have to get a suite for what you want but the standard rooms are fine but no walk in shower or cooking .but do you really need to cook in thailand mike
  7. the sandy spring is next to the haven hotel where its all about golf the owner will not see you unless you carry golf sticks or whatever they are
  8. i have to agree i had a room in the haven and it had a bad smell, and the aircon did not clear it,maybe i was just unlucky,so i moved next door to sandyspring best move i made,
  9. they wanted a deposit within 4 days to secure the room and the rest on 1-1-04 never had that before have paid a deposit thats ok but the full amount up-front never.so forget it.i booked at the sandyspring where i have a membership card so its 970 baht a night and no deposit or anything up front.cheers for the help mike
  10. i want to stay in the arcea lodge in febuary, but i read somewhere that they want 300 joiner fee.is this so if it is iwill go to sandy spring also they want paying in advance.anybody stayed in the last month or so and can put me right cheers mike
  11. its only 2 hours 15 from the southern bus terminal, theres a new road a few years ago you could travel by mini-bus from pattaya to huahin 400baht but i did not see it advertised any more it ran 2 times a week, you could ask in any travel agents.but it is ashit trip in a mini-bus it took 7 hours.a taxi for 2000 sounds like a good deal i was wondering if a bus from the airport might be ok,mini bus to airport-airport bus to southern bus terminal-blue bus to hua hin? to cut out the taxi ride across bangkok.i like the blue public bus it always seems safer than mini-bus.in january i shall do bkk-pattaya-samui-hua hin trip only not sure pattaya or hua hin first mike
  12. go to google and type in soulseeker or soulseek www.slsk.org,i think
  13. flash i wrote a review in march ,its a great place new good rooms balconys to sit out on and enjoy the view the best location.good pool and sunbathing area less than bht1000,i stayed in january when they newly opend so they were finishing it of so there was no restaurant but lots of places within stumbling distance laundry next door, bgs had to sign a form written in thai and english that said they were not aloud to use the pool and hotel facilietys .but thats all coverd in another thread for me this is the best hotel for the price i loved it stickman gave it a plug last week [bastard] so everybody will check it out.stay there its great mike
  14. its a done deal.they all treat us like shit in tourist class only china air seem ok mike
  15. yes all the rooms have a tub with shower.the suits have a tub and shower unit apart.
  16. apex hotel on second road has them hidden in the wardrobe you pay a deposite for the block-lock. haven hotel has them but i dont reccomend the rooms mike
  17. i stayed at lamia inn and they wanted 4 days in advance pay by c/c.it was not direct to the hotel but to an angency of some sort,on a secure line so i paid and it was fine no problems i got my room.it seems to be more common on samui than elswhere.so its up to you over christmas and new year its needed to secure a room
  18. you have to get a pass for angkor so you need a passport photo, you get a daily or three day,or a weekpass pay in us dollars, you do need this.its a must see but its knackering.so take your time and you do need a guide, take your time about this you have to spend a lot of time with them.so you want one that speaks english or whatever that you can understand and no halitosis as i had it really makes for a long day. if i remember i paid 150 us 16 months ago,
  19. you fly to samui from the domestic terminal which is a 500metre walk from the internatinoil airport so no pasport controll but bangkok airways controll you three times.and no airport tax but 400 at samui when you leave.
  20. if a country requires a visa you have to have one or the airline will not let you board.most countries give you a visa on entry.but not all so you must get a visa india for example .or the UK try to take a tg to the uk without a visa see if she can check in.the airlines are resposibale and pay a fine.no probleme with thailand if your stay is for 30 days or less.if its for 60 days they might decide you need a visa seems odd though , 80 pound seems a lot unless its for a mutiple entry or a travel agents rip off

    klm

in cattle class you are a second class citizen.its eat your food and go to sleep and shut up.but for me the main hassle is the timeing.the flight leaves at 19:35 so i am hanging around allday.if you have a delay you can leave later so you arrive in bkk late afternoon, then take a limo to pattaya and you are totally knackerd. its not so bad if you want to stay in bkk,but you do suffer.china air or eva maximise your time .if time is no probleme or its better for your connexion, in cattle class china is best but there really is not a lot between them, its all down to the flight times
  22. the lamai inn[99? has bungalows for about 4to500 baht its quite laid back.you can book online, with your credit card, first 4 days deposit to pay,its as safe as it can be online.good clean but basic bungalows cold water. good restaurant.beach is great, thers no problem with noise,5 miniuts to the main road with lots of beerbars no gogos its not pattaya there are lots of fun girls no superstars.a few babes mixed in but you have to look around,if you want a beach holiday kho samui is as good as it gets.from 5star to no star.it get full in july and augaust, and of course christmas and new year when the prices go up.most of kho samui hotels have 2high seasons and 2 low seasons plus christmas and new year.stick it in google .kho samui is great
  23. forgot the suits do have kitchens.seperate shower and bathtub at least the one i looked at did but they were still working on it,i saw a microwave/combioven? fridge etc but i am a cook so to hell with kitchens and cooking while i am on holiday mike
  24. sorry about delay in replying.busy 24/7 downloading music www.slsk.org.yes they have very big fridges . i could not log on to there web site atall i will try tomorrow.its a bit exspnsive maybe for longterm stays if there is no discount.but it is very nice as long as they stay geust freindly.by the way irecieved my membership card yesterday by registred post here in amsterdam. it cost 59 baht for them to send it and its valied for 1 year. mike
  25. try sandyspring on soi 13 brandnew, opend end of january.suits with kitchen etc dont know the prices as they were finishing them of when iwas there in febuary.wonderfull balconys great sea views.for me its the best location ,and you dont have to cross the road supermarket in mikes department store.2 minits too soi8 and 2 minits the other way to walking street soi 13 is very quite no gauntlet of bar girls if you like to butterfly mike
