the areca is a popular hotel so if you decide you want to extend your stay it may already be fully booked.

I have stayed there when all the other places were booked up. Its a great location My room was small but just ok 1200 baht. The problem was that the hot water did not work they offerd to change me but i only stayed 2 nights. Its girl friendly ok 2 warnings they did try to charge me for telephone use,I did not use it and when i said so they said ok,just trying it on i guess. I took a load of wash to the laundry opposite the hotel all smiles one girl wrote what i had on a list and another girl grabbed it and rushed across the road to where they had the machines.the cashier showed me the list 1500 baht NO way ,its 200 in pattaya. so i shot across the road to get my wash before it was put in the machine the girl was franticly trying to shove it all in a machine and I am trying to pull it out before she can close it up,once its going I will have to pay the 1500.So I finally get it away from her and go back to the shop to have it out with the girl there,Oh ok 1000 no, 800 no,700 no.650 oh ok then I did need some clean clothes and it did come back clean so be carefull.

I had a look round a couple of rooms in the AA residence hotel, to be honest I was shocked they were dark, dank, and mouldy I was sticking to the carpet.

I fly swiss air in december ams-zurh with swiss air, then it seems that I fly thai to bangkok.I booked on line and I did not know that I would have to fly with thai I thought I would just transfer from one swiss plane to another. I want to travel as light as possible as I am on a thailand-cambodia-vietnam-thailand trip over six weeks,so I want to start with carry on luggage only my reply from swiss air was that they would only allow a 5% bigger bag as carry on.I realise that any bag must fit in the overhead lockers and not take up all the space. What I want to know is how much will they really allow me to take in the cabin, can I take a normal max size cabin type bag and a small day/back pack or will I only be allowed one bag, or can I take a bigger but half empty duffle type bag? I fly economy code[L] but I will only take carry on and it will be less than 10 kilos including the bags.Anything I need I will pick up along the way. cheers mike

Where were you on christmas day??"I was on my bike" that was his reply to a question of why he was fitter than Jan Ulrich. He never went on the piss or pigged out during his racing carrear. He had a resting heart beat in the low 30s and a near record lung capacity brilliant cyclist

Its an ok hotel but only ok,stay in the new wing. plus points location pool breakfast buffet bad points noisy airco soi 13[that the pool is on ]can be noisy with building works new rooms start too look tatty soon in thailand better stay in the areca lodge soi dianne or the sandy spring soi 13 I only stayed for 4 nights and had no problem when taking back 1 girl at a time. It would not be my first choice in that area but if areca and sandy were full I will stay there again if soi13 was quite.

I remember that in the past the dynasty has been accused of cloning/stealing card details,I will not say its true but I would not give all the details. I only book hotels through angencys as I just do not trust staff at hotels/restaurants. Sawadee.com has always done the job for me.

I and big mike were maybe the first to recommend the sandy spring I stayed there just after it opend and wrote a glowing review{but it got lost when the board changed]. I first stayed in the chris guest house on soi 13 that is now the haven hotel, its always been my favourit place to stay and I have always recommended it. the last 2 times I have stayed there the sandy and the lek, it was a nightmare so untill the building work is finished I will keep saying do not stay on soi 13. UNTILL THE BUILDING WORK IS FINISHED. Thats my take on it so everybody can pay there money and make there choice. I will go back to soi 13 only when the work is finished, untill then I will stay and tell anybody who wants to listen to stay in the areca lodge on soi dianne inn. stay away from soi 13........ stay away from soi 13............. stay away from soi 13.............is that specific enough for you. ps I do not recommend the haven hotel
-
Attack other boardies............ get a grip of yourself man
-
its because every time we try to tell people that soi 13 at this time!! is a nightmare because of the building noise, people like you pop up with"its not so bad really"bollocks and we think "oh not again". Well my fine friend try sleeping in one of the cheaper sandy rooms overlooking the soi when the jackhammers and piledrivers are going. Try relaxing by the pool at lek hotel {that by the way faces soi13] when the jack.... Try having your window open in a room at the lek hotel when the jack..... but its not so bad maybe i am just a LIGHTSLEEPER oh sorry.
-
roland has told you I have told you,and a few others have told you SOI 13 IS A BUILDING SITE, ITS FUCKING NOISY AND IT WILL STAY NOISY TILL THEY FINISH BUILDING.GOT IT YOU DEAF C>>>>TS,
-
i am sure the safes in the lek hotel are electronic,at least in the new wing
-
