  1. Its a good price, just dont expect too much. they leave about 19:30 so they turn the lights off so just one film so you have a good chance off some sleep. flying from amsterdam cattle class there is not much too choose beetween china, klm, eva the only direct flights. just remember the often overbook so check in on time. you wont get it much cheaper.
  2. hippy I had a look at the rooms in AA residence ,they were awfull the carpet was like walking on a soft garbage dump, dark and dingy. Also booked a mini-bus too go to bangkok, paid. it just did not show up. a bummer if you want to catch a plane. I stayed at areca lodge because of the noise on soi 13 [always my first choice] reccomend it booked and payed on line 960-980 baht no problem. but it is busy so you have too book.
  3. A few weeks ago across from the lek hotel, young english guy no skin on right arm, right thigh serious gravel rash, knee serious cut, ankle ditto, various cuts to fingers etc etc. couple of girls and shop owner dabbing wounds with iodine trying to help. Advice from all go to bangkok pattaya hospital, Guy as only had bike 15 mins. worried about how much its going to cost at hospital no insurance?? , holiday fucked. maybe on a budget i dont know,I lost paitence after he would not take a taxi too the hospital, worrys about the cost. he wore flipflops.shorts and singlet. of course no helmet. you better take care out there. make sure your insurance covers you for dangerous sports, cos thats what riding a bike in pattaya/thailand is
  4. They do have a small room with 3 computers in,have no idea about speed etc. maybe you can e-mail them and find out?
  5. They also sell locks cos most of us dont bring one, the cost 150 baht. bring a quality lock of your own and you should have no worrys. its a nice hotel recommend it.
  6. the car park for lek hotel is on soi13 next to AA residence ,you get some noise when you are in the lek pool. I stayed in SS in october NOT a sea view but a room overlookin soi 13 the noise from the jackhammers on the site next to ma maison was intolerable for 5 days. When i saw and heard them again and the were going for at least 3 days i was away Its noisy just from the street in the lek by the way.
  7. I had to move from areca lodge as i only booked for a week and wanted to stay 3 more nights but they were fully booked, this was mon 7 march. So i walked to sandy spring but the site opposit was busy JACKHAMMERS;;;; etc it was noisy so i went to stay in lek hotel, Well that was as bad but because of the noisy airco and street noise it was earplugs every night i really need it quite at night,so i geuss pattaya is not the place though areca lodge was great. stay away from soi 13
  8. klm and china had some good deals from amsterdam
  9. Yeh i know thers good stuff out there i have timberland shoes brought in amsterdam made in thailand, but you have to spend time shopping for it, On a short stay i dont want to do that, and the origonal post is about a seven day visit so no time to shop only the fucking
  10. its not just i dont like shopping but i can only come for short stays. and apart from buying the wonderfull fresh fruit, then once round bigC and once round the royal gp,i want to lounge by the pool, have soapys, massages,EAT thai food, go to lolitas,go to mystys andTQ1 in the afternoons,do the prowls of the beerbars and check out the gogos, have some short times and find somebody to spend the night with. and get some sleep. shopping is at the bottom of my list to do. just bring light weight summer clothes you need enough so you always have a couple or 6 clean shirts and underpants and socks if you wear shoes not with sandals of course. and jaque said he was only in pattaya for a week,so to hell with shopping i say
  11. I go a different way. I dont want to spend a lot of time shopping the less the better. most of the clothes you see are cheap tat and will make you look cheap wearing them. its shorts and t shirts during the day,and trousers and light weight shirts at night, its hot so you can get through 3 changes of shirts a day. laundry is cheap, just bring half a dozen shirts, if you were going to stay a long time you will have time to do the shopping stuff but you will eat into you soapys, bjbars massage time. fuck shopping
  12. Rascalll have you thought about a suite in the sandy spring soi 13? very clean, quite, guest friendly, and a great location
  13. my first choice is sandy spring soi 13. new hotel ,value for money, great location. one end of soi beach road the other second rd, location location location. have stayed in the flippers on soi7/8 do it one time just to be in the middle of the action. The apex was/ is cheap but it stinks the staff are pressurised so always looking to make a quick baht. The haven at least the room i had stunk and the airco did not clear it. but because of the building work on soi 13 i have booked the arcea on soi diane it looks good get good reviews 980 b standard room and will give me a chance to check out some of the places away from the beach rd/second rd/walking st/ rout it gets like groundhog day sometimes
  14. if jackhammers or pile driving is involved its hell you can not exaggerate it. Thats why i have booked the arcea for the first 2 weeks in march its not worth the hell when you have a short vacation. i will go back to the sandy spring when i know for sure the heavy stuff is over and done with.
  15. just dont pay upfront pay a few days at a time or even daily. The site next to ma maison as been empty for some time, they worked on the foundations that they made a mess of in october with jackhammers,it was hell for 5 days and nothing till now. If they start heavy construction run like hell. but who knows when it will start.
  16. I also try to warn about the noise. But you seem to want to twist it around. Sure it changes from week to week, one week in october was fine one week was hell. the building of the condo next to the dynasty does not really impact on the sandy spring. exept for the heavy traffic on the soi. You stay there and you may hear nothing atall thats great have a good time. but the soi is a mess, and the potentiol to fuck up your stay is very high. I will book my next stay at the sandyspring cos its a great hotel and soi 13 is the best location half way between walking street and soi 7/8. BUT and this is what roland and myself are trying to warn about the site next to ma maison opposite the sandy spring, and the abondend bars just up the soi. If and when they start to develop the sites all hell will break loose. So book for soi 13 but my advice is dont pay up front be ready to change cos when they start with the drilling and pile driving it starts at 7 and stops at 4. they may take a year but start they will you have been warned. I will pay day to day on my next stay and be ready to move it wass a nightmare for a week in october but i had already paid and had booked the room some time in advance so i was fucked.
  17. my point is opposite the sandy spring is an empty lot they had to drill out the foundations that they fucked up the first time. it was five days of hell. when will they start again, my guess five days before christmas. have a merry one.
  18. you get what you pay for in sandy spring. the rooms overlooking the soi 13 are the cheapest, they also get the most noise from the site next to ma maison. the rooms facing the pool are the most or more exspencive. soi 13 is my place of choice and for many others but its a mess at this time. i was there the last two weeks in october new rooms in the haven raising the roof at ma maison building the conditel next to the dynasty and worst there is a empty site next to ma maison when they start on that its going to hurt with the noise, and dont even think about the mess from all the trucks. roland as warned you and i have warned you, when you get there it may be very quite but there is a good chance it will be hell. ps sandy spring is in the middle of soi 13
  19. well i stayed at sandy spring in october. and the foundations were made too big so they had to drill them out, it was hell for 5 days. a bit of hammering and sawing will not really bother you,but any more than that will. roland has warned you, dont pay for your whole stay at any hotel on soi 13 pay every day if you must so you can move if its too much and it will be
  20. klm are ok only klm eva and china fly direct to bkk from amsterdam. NOW READ THIS klm ALWAYS overbook there flights so check in on time do it dont fuck about be on time two hours at least. but they always give good deals a later flight plus cash etc so if you want a flight and stop over in singapore +400 euros cash thats what they were offering last year when i flew with them to bkk ok be on time
  21. kingfisher.no not really its not big i guess a couple of new rooms. i would not stay in the haven, unless you know it allready the rooms are dark and smelly its a great location but really not a great choice.i looked in the AA opposite the sportsman and thats awfull do not stay there.i booked a minibus from there to bangkok that did not show up,bad news if you need to catch a flight. have you tried the dynasty inn on soi 13
  22. they were drilling out some concrete foundations reinforced off course, seems they made them too high. They were drilling for 5 or 6 days compressor and 2 drills and fuck it was loud you could not do it in the west. no ear protection etc then it was all over no problem but thers building or somthing going on all over soi 13. they have raised the roof at ma-maison,something going up at the haven, the white house condo goinng up,they have to start whatever they are going to do at the fucking drilling site. my advice go to sandy spring but tell them you will leave if the noise is too much and dont pay for all your stay in advance. if its a bit of sawing and hammering you willnot notice it. but the drilling, and if they start pile driving it really is too much. when i left on saturday it was ok
  23. try a suite at sandy spring.Soi 13 is a great location beach road at one end second road at the other, half way between walking street and soi 8. baht bus takes you anywhere no roads to cross. short walk to soi post office. tq1 at the end of soi sportsmans bar next to sandy spring for good breakfast laundry also. guest friendly. all you need you can walk to. or a short bus ride away
  24. If you want to fly nonstop from amst-bangkok you have 3 choices. klm, arrives noon long lines at passport control, half day gone. eva.arrives about04:00 too early to do anything or get anywhere. china, arrives 08:00,no really long lines, get into pattaya via taxi/limo about 11:00 clean up have some grub a couple of beers ready for a soapy they open at 13:00. I only fly cattle class and china treat you best off all.klm and eva want you to eat the food ,its bad on all of them, dont bother the flight attendants do not ask for more than one drink ,then shut up and go to sleep. on china you can get a drink, and not feel like you are third class in the cheap seats china beats klm and eva.i have flown on all three, there are safety problems with china! they have a history. klm ALWAYS overbook there flight to bkk so you must check in early its a good plan to do it with china also. so if connections are no problem and you fly tourist china every time. i cant talk about the buisness first class etc. as i am a cheap charlie
  25. and hot hot hot
