  1. my point is opposite the sandy spring is an empty lot they had to drill out the foundations that they fucked up the first time. it was five days of hell. when will they start again, my guess five days before christmas. have a merry one.
  2. you get what you pay for in sandy spring. the rooms overlooking the soi 13 are the cheapest, they also get the most noise from the site next to ma maison. the rooms facing the pool are the most or more exspencive. soi 13 is my place of choice and for many others but its a mess at this time. i was there the last two weeks in october new rooms in the haven raising the roof at ma maison building the conditel next to the dynasty and worst there is a empty site next to ma maison when they start on that its going to hurt with the noise, and dont even think about the mess from all the trucks. roland as warned you and i have warned you, when you get there it may be very quite but there is a good chance it will be hell. ps sandy spring is in the middle of soi 13
  3. well i stayed at sandy spring in october. and the foundations were made too big so they had to drill them out, it was hell for 5 days. a bit of hammering and sawing will not really bother you,but any more than that will. roland has warned you, dont pay for your whole stay at any hotel on soi 13 pay every day if you must so you can move if its too much and it will be
  4. klm are ok only klm eva and china fly direct to bkk from amsterdam. NOW READ THIS klm ALWAYS overbook there flights so check in on time do it dont fuck about be on time two hours at least. but they always give good deals a later flight plus cash etc so if you want a flight and stop over in singapore +400 euros cash thats what they were offering last year when i flew with them to bkk ok be on time
  5. kingfisher.no not really its not big i guess a couple of new rooms. i would not stay in the haven, unless you know it allready the rooms are dark and smelly its a great location but really not a great choice.i looked in the AA opposite the sportsman and thats awfull do not stay there.i booked a minibus from there to bangkok that did not show up,bad news if you need to catch a flight. have you tried the dynasty inn on soi 13
  6. they were drilling out some concrete foundations reinforced off course, seems they made them too high. They were drilling for 5 or 6 days compressor and 2 drills and fuck it was loud you could not do it in the west. no ear protection etc then it was all over no problem but thers building or somthing going on all over soi 13. they have raised the roof at ma-maison,something going up at the haven, the white house condo goinng up,they have to start whatever they are going to do at the fucking drilling site. my advice go to sandy spring but tell them you will leave if the noise is too much and dont pay for all your stay in advance. if its a bit of sawing and hammering you willnot notice it. but the drilling, and if they start pile driving it really is too much. when i left on saturday it was ok
  7. try a suite at sandy spring.Soi 13 is a great location beach road at one end second road at the other, half way between walking street and soi 8. baht bus takes you anywhere no roads to cross. short walk to soi post office. tq1 at the end of soi sportsmans bar next to sandy spring for good breakfast laundry also. guest friendly. all you need you can walk to. or a short bus ride away
  8. If you want to fly nonstop from amst-bangkok you have 3 choices. klm, arrives noon long lines at passport control, half day gone. eva.arrives about04:00 too early to do anything or get anywhere. china, arrives 08:00,no really long lines, get into pattaya via taxi/limo about 11:00 clean up have some grub a couple of beers ready for a soapy they open at 13:00. I only fly cattle class and china treat you best off all.klm and eva want you to eat the food ,its bad on all of them, dont bother the flight attendants do not ask for more than one drink ,then shut up and go to sleep. on china you can get a drink, and not feel like you are third class in the cheap seats china beats klm and eva.i have flown on all three, there are safety problems with china! they have a history. klm ALWAYS overbook there flight to bkk so you must check in early its a good plan to do it with china also. so if connections are no problem and you fly tourist china every time. i cant talk about the buisness first class etc. as i am a cheap charlie
  9. and hot hot hot
  10. yup you can book with the scandibar without a deposit they dont ask for one. they just ask that you hounour the booking,or you have to pay them for one night. so if you do use the scandi bar stay at the sandyspring. no multi bookings and decide where you will stay on the day otherwise we will all have to pay up front with our cc,and i do not really want to give my cc# out too often
  11. arrive early 6:50 with china air from amsterdam. anybody want to share ride to pattaya [soi13] mike
  12. the touts are not such a big rip off, thai limo used to cost 1500b.the touts offer 1600b not such a big difference, you walk to the taxi rank and they will stop you its the most convieient way,no waiting or long walks.of course its not the cheapest.take the airport bus to ekami the the bus to pattaya then baht bus to your hotel about 250b,ok if your flight was less than 8 hours and you have a small amount of luggage

  15. when you arrive you fill in a form for customs and passport control, one of the questions is how many days is your stay?.on a tourist visa you cant say i dont know, if you do then they might start to ask questions.about return tickets as it is they are asking for bording passes.

  19. 85 EURO for a new passport just back from the consulate in amsterdam, 85 fuckin EURO,bastards
  20. at the north end is if i remember white sands resort and they still have old style bungalows, start at about 300-350 baht with no toilet or shower, they also have big aircon bungalows balcony garden etc 3000baht take a can of raid and spray under the net and go for a beer when you come back the top of the net will be black from dead mozzies and flys. I only stayed one night in one with a shower toilet, zero maintained since they threw them up ten years ago jerry built but cheap but a shock after what you can get for your bhat in pattaya
  21. yes the hotel at cookies is open but its the other side of the road more like a motel with cars and4wd parked underneath.Mc bungalow next door are building a hotel with swiming pool i stayed in the last of the old fan rooms for old times sake.the beach is still great but they are cramming the big airco bungalows in,going 5star like they planned, they are filling every bit of space they can so unless you are right on the beach you cant see up or down the beach any more, but the big airco bungalows do look good, and they all seem to going in that direction so no cheap options soon.I do wonder how they can fill all the rooms they keep building in thailand they are not cheap to stay in anymore.2 years ago there was not one atm on kho chang now there must be 8 plus 4or5 banks on white sands beach alone, plus 2 7/11s.there are a bunch of beer bars just after the beach ,the 2 at the far end next to the exspensive italian restaurant are good one is owned by an english guy and his missus nigel nice guy layed back place with a pool table,ok music, next door the kangerroo bar bill an aussie and his missus and a pool table both good places to hang out with ok prices.saying that its fucking exspensive to drink on kho chang in a crappy beer bar they want 100/110 baht for a vodka orange, one girl who i brought a drink for in her own or sub letted bar charged me 150 for a barcardi breezer dumb cow i spent good money and would have continued to spend and bar fine her,but she had to be greedy so i voted with my feet.so watch what they charge you in the beerbars, but theres plenty of new bungalows and hotel rooms on white sands beach so you should have no trouble finding something though i think they are pricey
