  1. There's a Thai section on flyertalk.com that will include much info on the questions being asked in this thread.
  2. Try the Sandy Spring. Great location, good hotel. They have wireless broadband which they charge for but the cost is reasonable and the service is good.
  3. It can be very nice to sit out on the balcony at night with a TG and start to get friendly before moving inside. The balcony at the Sandy Spring overlooking Pattaya Bay with the lights and boats always impresses them. I've even had a BJ on the balcony which is a great way to enjoy the view and all that Pattaya has to offer.
  4. The photos of this place on the site look great but there are no photos of any balcony. You say there are two in the suite. Do you have any photos? Are they furnished? Are they comfortable for sitting out enjoying some sun in the daytime or the view at night? What are the views? Would appreciate more info. Thanks for the report.
  5. Your view of the Sandy Spring is complete bullshit. You obviously have never been in a Motel 6. I've stayed in the SS 4 times and the place is reasonable 3 Star quality and good value for money. It does have great views and it is well located. The bathrooms on Floor 8 are excellent. The bed is great (room for 3 or more). The carpet and furnishings are slightly worn but I've seen much more worn stuff in Pattaya in the same price range. I haven't stayed in RG. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. But I surmise you have some kind of axe to grind with the SS and any newbies co
  6. Very interesting. Can you also tell us what you rented, where, how much? Any photos of what you rented. As some-one considering a longer stay in Pattaya in future I'm very interested in what's available and what it costs.
  7. cookie, When will your penthouse be finished and when will you have photos of it? What is its total size in square metres?
  8. Casa Pascal Chez Bernard The Lobster Pot Fuji The Sportsman (Soi 13)
  9. I arrive at 9.30 a.m. on Dec 2 on TG402 from Singapore. I have a car booked to Pattaya and I'm willing to share the ride and the cost. PM me if interested.
  10. The bed was just fine. Good to sleep on, good to get my exercise on.
  11. I'm in a sea view suite, two rooms with a huge bathroom and a huge balcony. It costs 2500 Baht/night. I pay because I'm only here 5 nights. It's a bit expensive for a long stay. I like the rooms. The balcony is fabulous. And one thing Sandy Spring has done right is put all the AC units at the back of the building where you don't hear them. Every time I look up at a hotel in Pattaya I see AC units on the balcony. Who wants to sit on a balcony with all that fucking noise blasting in your ear? Sandy Spring made a good decision on that. My Tilac for two nights this week thought it
  12. No construction that makes any noise at the Sandy Spring. Just a little bar noise from Beach Road. The night view of Pattaya Bay is great. I'm looking at it now while checking this site and reviewing my e-mails. Life is good!
  13. You're just jealous! I'm watching the sun spread across Pattaya bay while I check my e-mail. I think I'll move here and just work by e-mail.
  14. I am writing this from my laptop on my balcony on the 8th floor of the Sandy Spring. I just opened up the laptop, searched for wireless signal, found one and opened up Safari on my Mac. Works like a charm. The signal is called 'belkin54g'. I haven't a clue what that is but its nice that it works.
  15. Just moving up the forum to see if any interest.
  16. Are you referring to the cleanliness of the paper and cover or the written content when you say filthy?
  17. I have a car booked for my arrival at BKK on May 14 at 9.30 in the morning. I would be happy to share the car and the cost if anyone arrives at the same time or a little earlier. PM me if interested.
  18. Thanks for the photos. The place looks good. Is that last photo with Pattaya Bay in it taken off the balcony or out a back window of the apartment?
  19. I don't think you've stayed in a 2500 Baht suite on the 8th floor. That is the only floor I've stayed on and the experience has been as I describe. I have read on the board some months ago that they also have 'suites' on other floors, maybe 7, which are just two bedrooms slapped together as you describe. On floor 8 the living room has a big marble counter unit with a kitchen style sink in it. I wish it had a couple of kitchen things like a tea/coffee maker on it but then they don't promise that. The bathroom is very big. It has a separate shower and tub and it has plenty of space t
  20. Interesting reaction. I obviously like the Sandy Spring location and the girls behind the desk. But I think the 2500 Baht suites on Floor 8 are great. Nice big bed, nice separate living room, two flat screen TV's and a nice big bathroom with separate shower and tub. Most of all I like the balcony with the view over Pattaya bay. Ma Maison is across the street for a nice leisurely lunch or dinner and Sportsman is next door for a great breakfast. I really enjoy the place and the location but if the Golden Crab across the Soi is better value I'm prepared to move which is why I'm looking forw
  21. Thanks. I hope you figure out the photo posting. I've been staying at the Sandy Spring in a suite for my last 3 trips and will do so again next month. But I think the Golden Crab is worth a look for longer stays which I may do later this year and next. Look forward to your photos.
  22. Great report. Thanks for writing the review. Do you have any photos of the apartments?
  23. What is your source for that information?
  24. I would love to hear about the wireless. I like to go there for lunch and if I could take my laptop and sit in the restaurant, clear e-mails, read my home newspaper and check out this board it would be great. Anyone used the wireless?
  25. What site are you guys talking about?
