Big news for EPL (soccer) broadcast in USA next 3 seasons
jimmac replied to bigdelta's topic in Sports Talk
Does any BM know what's happening with EPL in Canada next season? Many of our games this season came through Fox or ESPN though they may be separate rights. I don't think I have any of those NBC Channels, except the main network, on my satellite service. I really like getting up around 7 on Saturdays and Sundays and seeing 5 live games over the 2 days. The 5 hour time difference with the UK means there's lots of day left when the football finishes. -
RIP. Very sad, but he had a great life. Maybe we'll see on this thread how many Canadians are BMs. He was a great entertainer but I suspect no-one outside our borders has a clue who he was. His unique songs will live on.

Pattaya Discovery Beach Hotel, Pattaya.
jimmac replied to firth1974's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'm glad you had a good experience. Mine was as described a year ago. I don't think my lousy experience was the result of the hotel's relationship with Asia Travel. It originated with a hotel who's management is crap and in denial about poor customer experiences and who clearly hasn't trained its staff in quality customer service. Everyone's experience and reaction is different. I won't ever risk being subjected to another crappy experience in this hotel and I will always advise anyone who inquires to avoid it. -
You mean its not really outdoors? And its air conditioned? What about in the evening after dark? What are the seats like?

How is the open air Patio cinema? Does it have comfy seats? I might think about going with a TG. It sounds more appealing to a vacationing farang like me than freezing in an a/c'd indoor cinema.

+1 One wonders about the 'islands' out the windows too. -
Can you stand on the balcony and wave over 'room service' from the Coconut Bar?
-
Does it have a web page?

They will start in October but you can't yet book. I'll remain a skeptic until we get a report on the board from some-one who has actually flown them. Skal as a partner also makes me skeptical. Skal is a 'professional association' of travel people who get together for a monthly piss up. Its not an investment group.

I just want to wish Muck all the best. I have always enjoyed your reports, Mick, especially your photo reports. It has been great to follow your reports on life in LOS since you moved there. I wish you a good recovery so you can continue to enjoy a great life in Thailand.

Why does anyone spend money on this clown? He has achieved nothing.

Has anyone been able to buy a Myanmar Visa online? The Air Asia site says it can be done but when you hit their link it requires a username and password to check-in. I'm thinking of using Air Asia for a 3 or 4 day trip to Yangon from BKK in November. Any advice on how to secure the visa would be appreciated. Also, are Thais exempt from needing a Myanmar visa? I'm thinking of taking a TG GF with me. She has a passport. Does she need a visa?

Why not just get us some images of that quality of nice Pattaya pussy and birds of the other kind.

Sim card for laptop use in Thailand?

I have used True 3G on my iPad in Pattaya and the speed and service are fine. You can buy pre-paid time from True so no need for monthly charges if you're just visiting. -
Are you talking about Rangers or the England team at Euro 2012?
-
No tears now. They will come when up to a third of their joke league go tits up over the next few seasons. The penalties should be the same, right? As soon as the league sponsorship deal and TV deal are up, these clowns will be introduced to reality. Rangers will be enjoying their ascension from League 3 passing the great moralists as they descend. Meanwhile Celtic and a few hangers on from Edinburgh and Dundee will start their European participation in May in the pre-pre-pre-pre-qualifying rounds because Scotland's European co-efficient will be right up there with the Faroes.

I flew up there last September on Bangkok Air. They are an excellent airline. I think they were a bit more expensive than Air Asia but they were not expensive. I flew up there with a TG and had a nice 2 day visit. I plan on returning for a longer stay sometime.
