  1. I think I'd best keep out of this thread.......Oops!
  2. Great guitar tone........Never found out much about the 'Mooch' The guitarist was good. Bubble Puppy did an inferior version of this that sounds so muted. Glad I found it again on Youtube. I recall as a spotty adolescent getting my Dunlop maxply out to this and standing in front of the mirror........imagining the girls at our sister secondary school going crazy for me as I casually tossed-off the guitar parts in this unknown track......But I never did....And they probably wouldn't have........ Great fantasy though, up there with my swimming pool rescue fantasy.
  3. Check this out..........His dad might have been proud.
  4. I liked it best when we didn't give our reasons for our statements. It was like being down in purgatory with Gawd! In the 7/7 show's defence I think I can say that I thought several characters had their best scenes of this series. And I can say, (because I've not seen this anywhere, therefore it must be complete bollocks)......That the character currently with-child may have been impregnated by someone other than who we are being led to think it is. On the subject of 'spoilers'........It was very difficult to avoid them on Google the day after airing and youtube even in the lead up. I think people who don't want their fun spoiled should take personal responsibility and avoid this thread. Jacko let us know when you've caught up so we can have a true discussion. The thread is actually pointless otherwise.
  5. Without giving any reasons I disagree.
  6. Just watched it..........I thought in a previous episode, where Tomlin threw himself out the window.....GOT had given a new meaning to the term Kings-landing. And now we're left with the old definition and a re-redefinition of another well known term. (I think that's opaque enough). Great, great series.
  7. Though nothing base is meant.
  8. I like any guitar stuff........ But I've put this in because I gave my son my Martin acoustic and he's really surpassed me now. He's got this arrangement off-pat......According to my brilliant son it was written by Burt Bataerachii. By-the-way.....guess which Bm I reckon Tommy looks like? A younger version of course.
  9. Different topic and perhaps should be in the RIP section........ But today the sad news that the man who invented predictive text has died. He pissed away yesterday and his funfair is on monkey.
  10. A good selection this year.......... I think number 5 was my favorite ..........You'll have your own. The top 15 funniest jokes from the Fringe 1. 11. Thanks I'll take a trip to the "Salt farm'.....That will be easier than Bosch........ Boring footnote worth skipping: The part number ascribed to their tablets currently on the web and my maintenance booklet has changed, so they couldn't find the part-number I requested.......Thoughtfully they sent me a photograph and description of exactly what I asked for but with a different part-number. They said 'I'd gotten it wrong and please to check'......I read through the details they had just sent me and it confirms in them that this was originally the part number I requested...and it's changed.......'A rose just as sweet' then? Well you'd have thoughts so!.......I tell them it's fine just a change in part-number.........Another email arrives patiently asking me to check because they 'worry I make wrong' I guess I'm a falang so any mistake or confusion must be of my making and they don't want to share in it. "Can I send what water product I'm needing this for?' I've already done this in my earliest email. But I know they are trying to be helpful..... I reassure them..... send the name again and I add for good measure a photograph embedded and correctly orientated of my, by now famous and still beloved Bosch Water Heater.......... ...............Their last reply was Please could I send a photograph!!!!!! It's a case of the left hand and in Bosch's case (remember WWII), the far right hand not connecting. A falang customer and a falang company and some poor Thais caught up helpfully but helplessly in the middle. Didn't you MM have all sorts of misunderstandings over the repair of your coffee maker? The water heater is great. The customer service is trying to be really helpful....they just can't accept they are right....and so am I. How do two rights make wrong? Anyhow.....It's easier to just let it go...........So off to the Salt farm, (Nakula) and Bon Cafe as you suggest MM. Thanks to all.....Now I need a nice cuppa....."DOH"
  12. Bullfrog......Possessing the gene to produce it or the nose that can detect it.....(the science is unclear)....I love the smell of my piss after asparagus.........Not sure I would like the taste though. Still........ some people can sup San Miguel Lite without gagging!......... Baking soda.....citric acid.....and as Odense says, 'vinegar' should all work. .....But I do love this machine and it wasn't cheap. I'll probably go this cycle with Bosch. My last hope are the tricks the 'coffee machine people' have developed......but nothing forthcoming as yet
  13. I have a Bosch water heater I bought in Num Chai. It looks bit like a coffee machine but all it does is heat a mug full of water at a time. It needs a descale. Bosch say you can't use vinegar and they push you to their own tablets.......which is fine but they have to be ordered...and work out at about 680 baht. I wonder what all you coffee aficionados use to descale your machines....I'm sure it's basically the same thing. I read that Bon Coffee sell stuff wondering if there's somewhere more local than Nakula.......I'm in Jomtien. I'm told Sterodent will do the job.......I was thinking of asking Jacko. Anyway someone out there has the solution.......literally.
  14. It's sent me to the source material in the history books.......Getting into, 'Bastard Feudalism' in a big way. The 'War of the Roses'.......The Lancaster's and the Yorks.........But with now a GOT bias I found myself rooting for the Yorks/Starks...Bloody Plantagenets!
  15. Soi Chayaprook. On the right just as you turn off beach rd. The choice last Sunday was Pork or Chicken 70 baht.
  16. Had a roast at Tequila Sunrise on Sunday precisely because I couldn't believe the price....70 baht. !! Wasn't good..wasn't bad......WAS worth the money.
  17. He'd like 'Tequila Sunrise' in Jomtien.........They do a 70 baht Sunday roast.
  18. Perhaps writing it over 20 years was fun but with all the demands..The fun turned first to habit and now has become a chore for the old coot. Fortunately If before completion he ends up in the crypt below Winterfall playing a game of bones......He's told some people how it all works out.... The theories abound.......But one of my favorite and hoped for plot-line endings though one that I think can't be managed, (so not a risk here of being a spoiler) ............would be Arya, (as Ned Stark) signing Cersei off..... Thinking about it it might be possible for Arya to take Jaimie's face......That would work and be almost as fitting.
  19. Even Ridley's adverts were good. https://youtu.be/uMdy5szUXaQ
  20. Just discovered Spooks.......Old series.....Bit tense. Funny how it is that I hate traitors more than I do the enemies.
  21. 'Dunkirk'. Memorable. Thought provoking.....Gripping. Overlapping viewpoints of the same incidents..The human parallax. Underlying themes, one being simply waiting. 'Will I survive until the next tide, the next hour, next minute, the next few seconds? The twists of fate that turn winners into losers and losers become the winners. Courage, cowardice, compassion. I usually walk out of cinemas having been entertained......... but the film's gone by the time I'm through the door. 'Dunkirk' got to me and stayed through the night.
  22. This might be the best thing on tv ever. Personal opinion of course. Over the last two weeks I've binged watched the whole series.......(9 hrs of series 4 in one day) finishing the lot yesterday. Caught episode 1 series 7 just now. Great entertainment ...........I cheered on every punch in Ramsey's face after 'The battle of the bastards' I never get so involved....... One question...What do American's make of the Northern English accents? Just as we English sing with American accents 97% of the time.........All the cast of GOT seem to be English and speak either BBC English or the Northern variety. Perhaps you got used to it in Downton Abbey?
  23. Thanks for that warning. Never sea sick before I was on a small yacht a couple of years ago.....and it got, (according to the skipper), the roughest he'd almost ever known. We could only see about 5 meters in front of us. The spray hood was ripped off...........I was hoping we would sink so I could vomit without anyone knowing. As it turned out we didn't sink and I just avoided throwing up. But I blame a subsequent 10 day debilitating attack of BPPV on this jaunt...... I hadn't considered until just now that I might get sick on a ferry..........I'm afraid thanks to the gunk in my semicircular canals and my lily-livered guts I won't be going out in rough seas if I can avoid it. Shame, it's otherwise quick and convenient........
  24. I've known it for 16 years........
  25. Thing is today's news is Ruth Davidson is pulling the Scottish away from may's control over Ruth's personal opposition to Brexit.
