  1. It's the age of the tyre you need to consider, Gonzo, not the age of the car. The tyres could be a couple of years old when they were first fitted. Tyres have a Tyre Identification code on it, showing the week of the year and the year it was manufactured. for instance, if it shows a code similar to DOT U2LL LMLR 5107, it would mean it was made in the 51st week of 2007. Hope that helps. KM
  2. Where does it say it has a history of scamming its' customers???
  3. Check you've still got your watch on when you take it out! KM (Perhaps this should be in the "who still wears a watch' thread!!)
  4. I think it fair that I 'big' this guy up. I have been hiring bikes from him for the last couple of years. He always gives me a fair price and the bikes are always in good nick. I email him before I arrive telling him what time to bring the bike over and he's always there when he says he will. We had one small problem when I bought a new helmet that was too big to go under most seats, but after trying different bikes we found one it worked with. Since then I have always hired a PCX from him whenever I'm here. This time I arrived on sunday morning, and, as requested, the bike was brought

    World Cup

Don't worry about the state of the pitch that England will play on - they've sprayed it green!!! So that makes it ok then! KM
  6. Why on earth compare football (soccer) to American football? You might as well compare it to table tennis - there's nothing similar between the two sports at all. Different equipment used, different physique required, different numbers on the team, different length of play, different rules. KM
  7. I'll be in Pattaya for most of the World Cup and although most of the games are on at silly o'clock in the morning with a few at 11pm, where would it be good to watch the late ones. Are any of the bars replaying them in the afternoon or early evening? On a personal note I'll be flying in as England play their opener against Italy, but is there any bar replaying it Sunday afternoon or evening? Cheers guys!! KM
  8. Yep, get your arse over here and get her to show you the sights of London!! KM
  9. I'm with MM on this, Jacko. I rarely have a problem with the size when filtering. You tend to adapt to whatever size of bike you're riding at the time. KM
  10. I'll have to see if I can get a discount when I rent mine !! Mind you, I've never parked anywhere that I've had to pay, more by luck than judgement! KM
  11. When I was in Patts over Christmas/New Year I went to Tropical Berts and they had a sign on the door advertising an organised bike ride out - unfortunately for me it took place 3 hours before I'd seen the sign!! Does anyone know of any guys who organise ride outs? And again, anyone know of any good places to visit on a bike or good biking routes? thanks guys KM
  12. http://www.stagesafe.co.uk/user_files/smoking-in-vehicles-used-for-work.pdf I didn't realise traffic wardens could issue tickets for that? KM
  13. I believe i do have some restrictions on distance for the PCX that I rent, but I'll ask my renter how far I can go. If it's a longer ride and I need a larger bike I'll have to check with the next company i rent from. Ban Chang is an option, Martin, but I'd rather go in the minibus as I can have a drink as well as enjoying the other benefits it offers! Thanks for giving it some thought guys. KM
  14. Whenever I come to Pattaya I rent a PCX 150 and ride all around town and some outer areas. More often than not I just ride around and see what I can see without any particular plan or destination. However this year I'd like to ride a bit further afield, so I'm looking for suggestions. I'm firstly looking for places worth a visit that are a realistic travelling distance from Patts on the PCX and secondly, places that are a bit further afield that would require a larger bike to get to. And finally, does anyone know any good biking routes where the ride is more important than the destina
  15. Sounds like a plan!! (and i'm sure we can invite the boss along too!!) KM
  16. I post when I feel I have something to add to a thread. I've not made thousands of posts as I've only been on here a couple of years - and as they say 'quality, not quantity'!! I also use this forum to gain information for when I visit Pattaya, which currently is about twice a year. I suppose if I was going to somewhere like Spain, for example, I might join a Spanish forum, but as I don't go there or intend to go there, I would find that a waste of my time. I moderate because I can. hope that helps
  17. I am under no assumption that you will be going there, you've made that very clear - just beggars the question why you trawl these forums????
  18. Well, you can come along too and I'll buy you your very own drink, but from what I can make out, it will have gone flat by the time you ever get to Pattaya, if not evaporated! KM
